The Kurds in Iraq – and we know how they were treated - will occupy the oil city of Kirkuk and thus acquire a strong economic base for an independent state of Kurdistan.
Turkey, which has no oil of its own, will use the overthrow of Saddam to move into Iraqi Kurdistan and occupy the oil region of Kirkuk and Mosul. The Turks hate the Kurds as much as so dumb did.
The Saudi Royal dictatorship will make sure that the "contagion of western style democracy" implanted into Iraq does not spread to its kingdom and will undermine the post-Saddam regime.
The Mullahs in Iran - a Shia majority country - will assist the long-suppressed Shia majority in Iraq to get even with their erstwhile Sunni rulers who have governed Iraq since 1638. That means a long-running Sunni-Shia civil war.
Syria, which is ruled by Bashar Assad, who belongs to a Shia subsect of Alawis, will be sympathetic to the Shia aspirations.
So what? The threat to the US will be taken care of. If some nations want to fight over the carcass, I say let them.
if little boy proves that so dumb has WMD's then he is eliminated. The instability of the area, the impact on oil supplies still remains. The last civil war in Lebanon lasted from 1975 to 1990. To me it appears that your contention is that Hindus are more extreme and violent and sadistic and hence the excesses of Islam must be considered benign.
The people of the subcontinent have revealed a penchant for extreme violence against each other and towards the weaker sections of their own society. Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Sri Lankans, Nepalese - look back at their history over even the last 50 years and you will find it pock marked with brutal squabbling.

If all we wanted was oil, why don't we just say that Saddam can have whatever he wants as long as we get the oil? It would be a lot easier, way cheaper and cost less lives.
Giants of the American and Russian oil industries will come together in Houston this week for the first U.S.-Russia Commercial Energy Summit. The event will bring together Cabinet members, top corporate executives, legislators and financiers and could lead to a breakthrough. It will be an opportunity for the United States and Russia to lay the foundation for a genuine global energy partnership
A U.S.-led ouster of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein could open a bonanza for American oil companies long banished from Iraq, scuttling oil deals between Baghdad and Russia, France and other countries, and reshuffling world petroleum markets, according to industry officials and leaders of the Iraqi opposition.
Scramble to carve up Iraqi oil reserves lies behind US diplomacy
Manoeuvres shaped by horsetrading between America, Russia and France over control of untapped oilfields
Oil is emerging as the key factor in US attempts to secure the support of Russia and France for military action against Iraq, according to an Observer investigation.
Dear Zachary! are these enough to satisfy your empty brain or should I give more to you :-))
I don't think that the hostility displayed by guys like Naeem is indicative of what's found in Pakistan.
The exchange between the two of them has been illuminating some ways. Were it not for 9/11 and all its fallout, we probably wouldn't know the intensity that the bitterness between India and Pakistan has reached.
Not on a human level, between people who live there or have ties there.
I remember on the street interviews from that time and it was like "We'll kick thier ass", "No, we'll kick their ass", "No, we'll kick their ass"......
SEOUL, Dec 14: Tens of thousands of people carrying candles descended on the US embassy here Saturday to protest what they considered was an inadequate US response to the deaths of two schoolgirls crushed by a US military vehicle in June.
Regular protests have rocked Seoul for a month as the anti-US sentiment sparked by a US court martial's decision to acquit two soldiers on charges of negligent homicide in the incident has reached a near boiling point.
Can our American friend THX and Bill explain why US is insisting its malitry presence in Korea/Japan while majority population of these countries don't like US malitry presence in their home land or American are waiting for some korean or japanease desperate young guys to hijack some US planes and hit the white house/Panatagon!!
I think American can't understand the things unless u knock their heads :-) LoL
Can our American friend THX and Bill explain why US is insisting its malitry presence in Korea/Japan...
I'd be more than happy for the U.S. to bail out of every country that doesn't want us there. I'm tired of us playing protector. Let em kill each other, then they'll come running back to us for help and we can say "No thanks, we tried that, you didn't like it, we're not putting ourselves in that situation again".
That's a pattycake answer to a pretty complex set of circumstances, JT.
So the US should abandon involvement when it's in the national interest simply because colleges have enough of an organization to get a fairly large crowd of students out in the streets?
An unstable Korea is not a threat to most of the Pacific?
"I'm tired of the U.S. being blamed for all the ills of the world..."
Consider who is doing the blaming.
When the government in Seoul -- not street protestors -- says that it feels safe and confident without a US presence on the peninsula, then it will ask for a withdrawl of troops, and the US will comply.
Stability there is in the US national interest, too.
Stability there is in the US national interest, too. ---- Rick
So its all US national interest for which US install its malitry bases in the region, in spite of this fact that local people don't like their malitry presence !!!??? whats the difference left b/w colonial britians and The US???
An unstable Korea is not a threat to most of the Pacific? --- Rick
NO! b'coz majority population of the Pacific region (Korea, Japan, china and phillipean) don't think like that! we have seen large protests against US malitry presence in all these three countries, its all US frustration about north korea, its all US own agenda which is keeping the two brothers north and south korea divided when they will unit they will no more be threat for the Pacific region offcourse they may become threat for US But they will certainly not be a threat for the region!
US does not want north and south korea to be united b'coz after that US will have no reason to stay their and this is what US doesn't want.
"So its all US national interest for which US install its malitry bases in the region, in spite of this fact that local people don't like their malitry presence !!!???"
That's right, Naeem!!!!
This might be news to you, but Pakistan acts in its national interest, too. Every country does, first and foremost. And if they're smart, they don't base their decisions on the crowds the people who don't care about their national interests can bring out into the street.
"whats the difference left b/w colonial britians and The US???"
There's probably some similarities, but on the larger points I think there's a lot of difference.
Since you appear to be mostly guided by your resentments, there's very little anyone could say. You're a very frightened person, Naeem.
Sid the Kid should be rightfully frightened. He should be micturating in his pants. His religion - Islam - has been overrun by extremists and zealots and is on the pathway to imploding. Most Islamic nations have volatile populations with discontent simmering. Many - like Iraq and Pakistan - have festering youth ready to explode.
And his country - Pukistan - is not descending into total chaos and disaster because of American munificence.
Islam is a noble religion that has been victimized by the excesses of its followers. Monsters like so dumb insane, the Iranian mullahs and the Pukistani religious bigots have destroyed Islam.

Dear Zachary! are these enough to satisfy your empty brain or should I give more to you :-))
I don't think that the hostility displayed by guys like Naeem is indicative of what's found in Pakistan.
The exchange between the two of them has been illuminating some ways. Were it not for 9/11 and all its fallout, we probably wouldn't know the intensity that the bitterness between India and Pakistan has reached.
we probably wouldn't know the intensity that the bitterness between India and Pakistan has reached.
Remember the chest thumping back and forth between the two with bomb tests?
Not on a human level, between people who live there or have ties there.

Yeah, we should abandon them.
I'm tired of the U.S. being blamed for all the ills of the world and I'm tired of paying for it.
Let them fight it out and blame each other for awhile.
I know, I'm just being stupid. Call it frustration.
