2 things I can't afford to do. No one in my dept. is here today so I hoping to get out of here before noon. I wished I had vacation time. This really sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!
well, merry fkn x-mas to me....someone tried to break into the house while we were gone today, broke a double pane window in my bedroom and the window fell completely out, someone must have interupted them cuz they didn't get all the way in. hope everyone has a better christmas than we are.
wow! that sucks LL! Atleast they were stopped and didn't get away with any of your stuff, or xmas presents! Hope your Christmas day goes better, maybe you'll win the powerball :>)
well, they wouldn't have gotten into the rest of the house cuz we have a padlock on our bedroom door to keep chris out of our stuff when we are not home and even if they did my dog would have ate them :) she is not verry nice to people she doesn't know. It's just too bad that we had it locked or she would have wounded them atleast! Â forgot about the powerball! that sure would be nice right about now!
man did i have a nice surprise waiting for me under the tree. the dvd player i expected. the (scale) model railroad equipment i expected. (have i ever mentioned i'm a train nut? ever? are y'all sure?) some of the other things i expected. what i didn't expect was the huge box from my brother and sister. and it really was a good thing that it was 1) the last thing that i opened, and 2) everyone else had a lot more gifts than me to open. i got something i'd been wanting for oh, 15 years or so, but figured that adulthood meant i'd never see as a present. a lego train set. sweetness!!! i opened it and it was like my jaw fell to the floor instantly. apparently my sister and her boyfriend had gone shopping at target, saw it, and my sister decided that's what i was getting for christmas. and thus it was so. good thing i've got a birthday coming up in 3 months. especially after i saw the current lego train catalog, which is as big as the full-line lego catalog was when i was a kid.
I have a feeling most of my stuff from now out will be clothes. Thats not so bad considering usually guys like clothes (let your wife dress you the way she thinks you'll look sexy) AND when you have kids -they get everything you wanted anyhow!
Oh my gosh LL! I worried all week about someone breaking in to our house while we were gone! I am sorry it happened to you! and I see you didn't win the lottery either :(
Hey- I got the PB AND the 14!!! I win $4
Ares won PB x 4 = $12! I also had the 5 and by fluke the 28 but not on the same tickets so I am officially 3 drawings running with 4 out of 6 numbers just not on the same ticket

she got the 14 16 53
The guy who won the PB definately deserved it! WoW-
1- he is donating his 10% directly to 3 pastors/churches $17 mil 2- his wife can retire-she has had cancer twice and was gonna try to go back to work-now she does not have to 3- his daughter is getting married this summer and like the parents of the bride he can now afford to help 4- he is gonna take his wife to where Jesus walked - Israel and such 5- he can now reemploy 25 of his employees at his construction company 6- he has a cool name too ;) Andrew Jacksom Whittaker -reminds me of the Stonewall Jackson clue 7- his wifes name is Jewell -thats so precious :)hehehe
How wonderful is that? That someone who can put that money to so much good use right off the bat? Awesome -I am thrilled for him
Hello Everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.
Sounds like ares is in train heaven. LL - Hope the rest of the holidays were better than things started.
Our kids gave us a gift certificate to the Oceanaire for dinner. We've decided to cash that in for our anniversary in March. We also get to choose from several proofs for new pictures they had taken. I'll post one here. It was the best gift!
We won $7 on the powerball. Not quite enough to start a charitable foundation with, but it helps pay for the tickets.
That's not necessarily any less annoying. Reminds me of people who think they can write poetry just by writing normally, but making each line really short.
You know how it is when someone writes something like this and they think that makes it a poem.
anyone have any idea what she was trying to do with that? she called me to ask if she had any sort of host power with which she could have damamged the site, and that she wasn't gonna post anything until i looked at what she'd done wrong. but she didn't say what her intention was/
Taking time off between Christmas and New Years is such a fabulous thing to do. One actually gets caught up on sleep and the little odds and ends you can't quite find time to do when you're working all the time.
I bet whoever bought that lego set for you didn't think they'd be buying you legos at your age either! Hehehehehe
Santa Claus brought new bowling balls to the boys this year. They both wanted "The Icon" and I figured that anything with a name that bold would NOT be cheap. I was right.
Anyway, the balls were taken to the pro shop yesterday to be drilled, and picked up today, hours before the Friday Night Scratch League. They got about 10 minutes practice with the new balls before league.
Kris set another personal high score: an 800 series ... he gets another ring.
257-279-278 (812)
His fourth game of the night was 290!
36 strikes, 6 spares, no opens
At one point he had 19 strikes in a row-another personal record. He ended game 2 with 10, and started game 3 with 9.
I am not sure what I did back there-I was not trying to be poetic- I was trying to change the font and the size and the color all at once and it didn't work :( -
-A new tent -Pocket Tetris, -Chia Pet (puppy) -1 pair of Jeans -Package of socks -Package of Underwear -Pair of really warm socks (good for medallion hunting, on cold nights) -Shirt (which was too small and has to be returned) -Sweater (which was too small and has to be returned) -$20 gift certificate for Best Buy -Hooded sweatshirt -A new suede jacket -Dart gun, with glow in the dark plastic darts, sounds, lights (fun to shoot my cat and dog, and sister when she comes over, with. HAHAHA!) -A bunch of candy -Sheets for my bed -Money -1.75 liter bottle of Captain Morgan
If I can think of anything else.....I'll be back... But anyhow.. If you already been to my site and saw the x-mas/newyears message on there, then....there ya go, but if ya havent, Merry X-mas and Happy New Year to all ya'll ninjas.
Ya'll see the fireworks downtown tonight? There wasn't that many people but the ones who were there definitely got a show. I think the St. Paul JC's and Red Berron finally realized that the actual date means more to people than the day of the week when it comes to New Years celebrations. Here's a pix that I took with my 5 year old from the 15th floor of The St. Paul Companies. My wife said that they were so loud she thought they were going off right over our house 12 miles away. Pretty good stuff. I'll be putting on my own display on New Years Eve at midnight. I'm sure the neighbors will just love it.
Here's a bigger pix. It was kinda cool being up above the show. I'd post the actual photo but AT&T doesn't hold any punches when it comes to shutting a guys web site down when he's a little late on his payment. At least my bro has MSN shared dial up (56k! - Oh God help me) so I can attach these anyway. I should be good to go on the 3rd hopefully. AT&T you conglomerate MF's!!
FYI - If ya want to avoid the crowds, you can get the best view of any of the St. Paul firework displays looking straight down Washington St. You'll thank me later
My singles club went to dinner last night at Forepaugh's in Irvine Park and we had just finished dinner when the fireworks started. There was a small window in the room we could see them from, but I couldn't really see them from where I was sitting. I got up a couple of times to look, and they did seem pretty cool. But yes, they were very loud. I almost felt like we were in the middle of a war zone.
By the way, I loved Forepaugh's. It's a restaurant that's actually located in an old Victorian mansion right there on Irvine Park. When we first arrived, we sat at the bar waiting for the rest of our party to arrive. The bartender showed us some pictures of the ghost that lives there. One was a picture of a couple standing by a door. Behind them you see an arm clothed in white and a bit of a white dress coming out of the stirwell behind them. If you look closely though, you can actually see through the arm! The other picture was of a couple sitting at a table with a mirror over them. In the picture, there seemed to be some sort of eerie writing on the mirror, though I couldn't make out what it said. The people who worked there said the ghost was named "Molly" and used to be a maid there. I didn't get any weird feelings while there though, but it made for fun dinner conversation. Dinner there will probably run you at least $25 a person, but if you want a cool, romantic atmosphere and good food, I'd say give it a try sometime. I hope to go back in the summer maybe and see if we can't get a seat on their deck.
christophers dad used to work at forepaugh's, he was the valet and used to take me for rides in the customers expensive cars, so when you go there, make sure you check your mileage before you hand over the key's! :)
I got the neatest gift ever for X-mas this year, my grandmothers family wrote a little book on some of the history of our family and has some stuff in it about how they lived in a house that was torn down and is now railroad island. they also lived in swede hollow on the hill where noble engineering is now.
2 things I can't afford to do. No one in my dept. is here today so I hoping to get out of here before noon. I wished I had vacation time. This really sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!
Merry X-mas to all!
yep. taking vacation. i've got mine maxed out. and i always take off from christmas to new year's anyway.

Just about set here for dinner. The house is all ready, the table is set and all the food that can be ready is done.

Merry Christmas to everyone!

170 or 180 mil before taxes. personally, the guy's a fool for taking it all up front. but hey, that's just me.
he'll make up the difference in interest pretty quick if you ask me. but who knows. that is too much money for me personally. 10,000 is just right!
