Can her freezer hold 12 days worth of pizza's?

Forget the groceries - we eat out during the hunt. Sure hope there's something more than McDonald's near the hunt site.

If I was hoping to find the cooler crew for hunt talk, a cryptic URL would not stop me. I think it makes sense to give them other sites with a link to here...and to give them the direct link. Once they type it in correctly, they can bookmark it and it's all done.

Hmm, interesting. Makes me wonder what the best park is for the treasure to be in, based on what places to eat are nearby.

I've seen something on a Yahoo Group I'm in called tinyurl.com where you set up a link there and then give them a fairly simple url that redirects them to where you want them to go. Or maybe we could link to it from the Cooler Crew Yahoo group I set up: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CoolerCrewI haven't done anything with it since spring, but I certainly could. You can use HTML in the description so I could link to here pretty easily.

Anyone who can find their way to the actual Pioneer Press thread (provided they do have one this year) shouldn't have any trouble linking to our site. We can just title one of the threads over there "Helpful Medallion Hunt Links" and post away. The rest should take care of itself. That should hold true for other sites like AW's and such too.

so, any bets on how long my kid is gonna be in totem town?

WOW! I havn't heard that name in 19 years!!! My first kiss came from a boy who was in Totem Town :)

He actually was a gentleman...I was leaving his house, when we got to the front porch, he just grabbed my arm (gently)- dipped me and kissed me....sloppy but...::me2 is about to faint just to think of it:: :)

aaah to be a teenager again

and actually my sister called me today to inform me of the date-- :)
also note: the first baby born in Minnesota was born at 12:03 on January 1, 2003 1,2,3 and in order too :) with some zero's in there!

well ter, I think this is the best thing for him (and me too! I need a break!) nothing seems to scare him and he alway's tries to act like what he did wasn't that big of a deal. I think I'm going to pawn his boom box and nintendo to help pay for the dogs vet bill, it doesn't sound like the dog is doing too well :( his P.O. is coming to the house today so cross your'e fingers for me!

Cool AW,

I typed in the URL and this is what it got converted to.

http://tinyurl.com/41cb

This directs them to the main Medallion Hunt folder.

question for you guys who have sites on 8m.com. can you do a meta-redirect on an html page and have it do the redirect without showing the banner ads and stuff? if so, we can do that ourselves real easily.

King Boreas aka Ian

I don't know, but if you wanna try mine, I'll let you.

Oh, I don't have the ads.

Oh yes, I meant to make a post about that.

It is tomorrow (Saturday) at 10am at my Mason lodge located at 1044 Front Ave. That's a block east of Lexington just south of Como Park. Basically it's a block east of Gabe's by the Park if you know where that is. Anyone is welcome to come, especially if you want to see a bit of what the Masons are like.

tim_the_hunter

Cool, it's open to the public? Or do we need to learn the secret hand shake? Or would you have to kill us if we knew the secret hand shake? Does it cost anything? Thanks!

Fri, 01/03/2003 - 1:47 PM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

Yes, anyone can come to it, even if you don't know the secret handshake (and there really is one you know). And no, it doesn't cost anything.

I picture them up on stage doing the
secret Mason Full Monty

I bet there is a 'secret hand shake' in that somewhere!

hi everyone,
some i recognize, some i don't, but hi anyway.
does anyone know if volunteering to help at the carnival voids you of participating in the medallion hunt, just curious?

Fri, 01/03/2003 - 8:11 PM Permalink
ares

hey rex. dunno if volunteering with the carnival makes you ineligible to win the hunt or not. its something we've actually discussed around these parts and no one has an answer to it really.

Fri, 01/03/2003 - 8:14 PM Permalink
me2

I volunteered a couple years ago- it was not a problem. I don't think those rules changed as long as you were not volunteering to work at or with the Pioneer Press.

Hi Dig - Very nice story. You had me trembling just thinking about going down that slide. Oh, to be a kid again. Well I guess that's one of the more selfish reasons why we have them. It's always nice to have an excuse.

How much $$ does your tooth fairy give?

Ours give approx $3 to $5 all in change -nickels, dimes, even pennies.
you can't buy anything for any less anymore.

we always ended up with a buck under the pillow. then again, i haven't lost a tooth in 15 years or so, i'd guess. well except for having my wisdom teeth pulled, but that doesn't count, because they wouldn't give my extracted teeth back to me

Fri, 01/03/2003 - 9:24 PM Permalink

I love the gold dollar idea- those come in handy as nice gifts to our kids friends from school birthdays- and golden birthdays-but we had trouble last time at the bank- they only had 8 in the whole bank and I needed 10.

She will love it at 5- my almost 7 year old has yet to lose a tooth!!!! she is actually depressed about it! But the dentist likes her-the last time she was in it cost us $500! I want the tooth fairy prices!
