hi all i am new here as a writer, but was reading earlier today. the wife and kids and i went to cherokee around noon. the fog and clouds obscured alot of downtown, but the talk of locals said that the domes can be seen when clear. also the stack for schmidt's is clearly visible and belching out smoke. there are streets that you cross in the area that are named water and wood. there are sledding hills and playground equipment, ie slides. the others there were saying that there is a rose garden, at the bottom of one hill, by a slide, in the park. forget the other parks. it is cherokee! see you all there at 11:45 after i get the next clue. the park is still very large for the clues that we have so far. luck to you all.

Fri, 01/30/1998 - 2:57 PM Permalink
Troy Mclure

Well as a matter of FACT I think that plume means Indian feather OR a smoke plume.

Fri, 01/30/1998 - 2:57 PM Permalink
JoeMedallion

It's still at Cherokee!

See ya later!

Fri, 01/30/1998 - 2:58 PM Permalink
Dr. S. Livingston

I believe plume means exactly what it is supposed to. I really don't believe those who wrote the clues are wise enough to put double meanings into words.

Chris Swenke

Hey, CK1 this is chris are tou sold on Cherokee?

I'm still in the hunt between that and Highland and a scret location

I will tell you about if I see you tonight.

Send me a Mail!

oh well i guess it could have somthing to do with the indian feather, cuz isnt rosebud, like an indian tribe or somthing

Fri, 01/30/1998 - 3:00 PM Permalink
Dr. S. Livingston

Maybe I am missing something but, what is all the talk about domes for? I don't see any reference to a dome in the clues.

Rosebud is an indian reservation in S.D.

Fri, 01/30/1998 - 3:02 PM Permalink
ryan quinn

you can spell dome with mode and demo which are in the 4th clue

Hey, why don't you guys clean it up a little. We don't need to be reading all your immature postings. You two can e-mail each other instead of including all of us.

Fri, 01/30/1998 - 3:04 PM Permalink
Dr. S. Livingston

Perhaps the "rosebud" reference is to direct us to INDIAN mounds park. You can see the smoke stack on the mississippi and downtown st.paul is visible from there.

Fri, 01/30/1998 - 3:05 PM Permalink
Pat Pfundstein

Dr. The domes are the consensus decoding of Demo and Mode.

Fri, 01/30/1998 - 3:05 PM Permalink
ryan quinn

thats kind of what i was thinking, indian mounds park

of course you can see all of these things from more than one park. but if it isnt indian nounds, what does the rosebud mean

I state again that if Rosebud is not a reference to sledding, I'll eat every Pioneer Press with a Clue printed in it. It may also refer to the container of the medallion (as last years clue pointed both to Bandana Square and the bandana wrapping the prize.

Is the madalion plastic

Fri, 01/30/1998 - 3:14 PM Permalink
'mom'

"Rosebud" most certainly has to refer to sledding. They Capitalized it, refering to the name of the sled in Citizen Kane.

Well I am off to try and do some recon. work on the parks. Look for landmarks and the what-not. I will be back at 11:30 to see the new clue and see what everyone thinks of it's deep hidden meaning.

CK1 I have emailed you a tiny picture. Good luck with your green.

Thanks, Pat--I'll work on it.

Say, What if it's not in a park as we're thinking about...Are there neighborhoods within St. Paul called (something) Park Like Oak Park or Mounds Park??

This water cooler has been a very busy (and periodically nasty) bulletin board in the last 48 hours. Stop by and see me at "the park" on saturday morning. I have a few books left. Happy Hunting, Steve Worthman.

SO WHAT DO ALL YOU GUYS THINK THAT MEDALLION IS IN?

Fri, 01/30/1998 - 4:07 PM Permalink
CK1

Jenny-

Judging from the clues (and looking a patterns from past years)and Water Cooler Concensus, it's probably something to do with a sled or a rosebud. Perhaps an Altoids tin (roses on it). Maybe a Rosebud Pasta box. Perhaps a piece of a broken sled....But it's all speculation, of course.

Fri, 01/30/1998 - 4:11 PM Permalink
JENNY HOULE

I WAS THINKING OF THE ALTOIDS CAN ALSO BUT DIDN'T REALLY WANT TO GIVE IT ALL AWAY!

May be the reference to "Rosebud" is a clue pointing towards a theater, can one be seen from a park?

Fri, 01/30/1998 - 4:12 PM Permalink
JENNY HOULE

HAS ANYONE SEEN THE MOVIE CITZEN CANE?

Fri, 01/30/1998 - 4:14 PM Permalink

But can anyone see a theater from a park?

Im sick of seeing some 500 new messages and 375 are joes. But could the stay off the wrong track be sending us from mounds to cherokee? I think so. I'll see ya out there tonight!

How bout the stay off the track, being no paths as at mounds moving the location to cherokee or just off the bike paths at mounds making it there? just a thought. But why are there 3 acks in todays clue? think about.
