What do you think leap is? I think it has something more to do with a historical leap as well...but on Harriet, the bridges seem to be the only leap I can see. If it's down by the bridge in those rough areas...I just don't see it. Cuz those areas are covered with big concrete chunks and rocks and boards and just years old remnants of high bridge construction and maintenance...it's a damn mess down there. There were a couple points where I thought shelter may have meant homeless dwellings, which I found several of. It's pretty dangerous ground though and its real close to the Yacht Club...which they may not want people messing around by.
shovel, dont forget harriet was an island,, and was connected to land by the army corp of engineers,, that could be a leap, expanding the land to change the river.
This is my take on things thus far knowing that what is in the clues is as important as what is not in the clues.
No picnic clues.
No tree clues.
This is the first strolling clue - thus path.
If one figures the she ran and ran with a talkative mouth is the river, that's the water clue - otherwise there has been no water.
If it's at HI, and I believe it is, it could very well be on the western side of that park. The picnic tables would be out of sight from that end of the park.
There are trees down there however, but much of that area is full of brushy, bramble stuff.
Well, ShovelMaster, now that two, not three triple-e's make sense... But if the "two or three" does not pertain to the triple e's, then I'm thinking that it refers to where St. Paul, Lilydale and Mendota come together - or just St. Paul and Lilydale. Like there's a dispute/seeming not to agree about it. St. Paul growing - by annexing land; growing by "leaps" and bounds.
Let me just start by saying: Lil Slim...you are beautiful. That out of the way...Harriet, well...frankly, many people thought it was Harriet a day or so ago...but when did people really jump on this Harriet thing? The word Lure...brought tons and tons of people there because of the bait shop. Are there other bait shops? Is it perhaps just hidden in a fishing lure package? Could lure mean something else or nothing at all? Who knows... now...what did I post this message for? I don't remember.
There are parts that fit down there, but it just doesn't seem to fit completely for me. When you get to the park, you get to a point where you can make things fit easily. There's also points where you try to make clues fit to certain parks. It's kind of a fine line. There are a fair amount of words that just don't seem like they can be thrown away, but in a sense they are. My gut just doesn't feel settled with it being down at HI. It may be down there, but I'm just not interpreting it the same way as the clue writer intended. I just have this feeling it may be somewhere else. I'm not sure.
Regman, I don't think I'll get out today, fighting off a cold... Assuming the hunt is still on in a day or two I'll be back out again, but at this point I still don't really have a good idea where to look... I'm almost thinking it's in a place not many (if any) people have looked yet...
Lilslim is blushing, thank you shovelmaster. I have to agree that I go on gut feelings, and I didn't feel it at HI. Maybe though- that was just because I was already freezing and didn't reallywant to get out of the car. I really, really, really want tonight's clue to point us all away from HI.
It was distracting me, so I had to say something and get back on track. hehe. Anyway, Yes...it could definitely be Harriet...although that area down by the bridge fits best if it is Harriet, and yet the area is like a death trap...so much junk laying around to trip on, fall on, fall through, fall on you...it just seems rough. I guess I just hope I'm right and that tonights clue really puts us somewhere else that makes perfect sense...course we wont be able to discuss it cuz conveniently the site will be down right after clue 9 comes out.
You are very welcome Slim. I too hope that tonights clue takes us elsewhere...I mean once you have thoroughly picked over a park based on your own thoughts of where in the park it might be and you don't find the prize...it does feel good to move on. If it's there, there are only about 17,800 pieces of rock and concrete to flip over which it could be hiding under...cuz certainly there aint no sun shining under a rock.
hmm, rock,, rock you like a hurrican,,, scoprions,,, wind of change,,, "down to *****y park" mentioned in the that song,,, wait,, its the crack talking again,, never mind.
I will be at PP and like everyone else on here, I believe if we do make it to tonights clue...it would be wise to be like first or second in line for the paper...cuz this clue is probably gonna blow the roof off the joint!
I don't think I'll chance it tonight.. possibly tomorrow, I've got a good feeling the hunt will last a few more days, if I read anything out of the clues at all, I know they definately were set on making this year's harder.
do you really want to be the first in line if the clue litteraly blows the roof off the pp??? anywho... i keep thinking the great leap with 2 or 3,, refers to something in clue 2 or 3... from the high bridge you can see soo clear a view of our captitol dome... as of 3,, screw it.
Does that mean youdon't think I am TMK? LOL. well, they haven't seen me in my huge down cute, two pairs of pants, funny hat, and snot-crusted gloves. And you have.
Anyone got a flame thrower...we could melt some snow and grass and bushes and take a few of those pesky trees out while we're at it. LS, are you looking for hunting assistance?
well, me tim and reg are probally in the right age brackets,, and were all white,,, but other than that no.. besides,, i have a really crappy beard right now, so i look nothing like them!!
Actually, Scheffer and Lewis have great views of the dome part and not the rest of the Capitol.

Lewis is really empty, was out there on the 2nd clue
Seems to me a great way to throw a bunch of people off would be to mention something like you can see the capitol dome...
TMK- I know you're not sold on HI either- why not? Does anyone know if the Camo crew is down there??
if it's at harriet, i'm really surprised it hasn't been found
shovel, dont forget harriet was an island,, and was connected to land by the army corp of engineers,, that could be a leap, expanding the land to change the river.

any thought on clue 5 referring to clue 2 or 3?

how about the shelter clue terry? keeping warm?
That would be the Widdington Pavillion. It's now heated and can be used year round. There's also the Covington Inn B&B that is available all year.
faith/soul run/walker/stroll puck/puck anything?
Regman, I don't think I'll get out today, fighting off a cold... Assuming the hunt is still on in a day or two I'll be back out again, but at this point I still don't really have a good idea where to look... I'm almost thinking it's in a place not many (if any) people have looked yet...
"soul-lure"/solar
Sumbuddy told me last nite that there are solar panels on the GE something-or-other that can be seen from HI...
I'm with you TMK, after 2 hours of kicking weeds and sticks, I just wasn't 100% sold

least were all happy its not at pigs eye,,, its not only a death trap, with no access, but its also toxic, yes!!!
Well I'm not rulling out that it could be Harriet either, just need to look in the right spot
Public Service Announcement: Lilslim is married.
Carry on.
You are very welcome Slim. I know Slim is married. But I believe it is alright to tell someone they are beautiful. I didn't ask her on late night hunting date...sheeeshh..
LOL, thank you on behalf of bigslim TMK. you goin down to PP tonite? I would be coming down by myself so I need a huntin buddy.
hmm, rock,, rock you like a hurrican,,, scoprions,,, wind of change,,, "down to *****y park" mentioned in the that song,,, wait,, its the crack talking again,, never mind.
BTW, It feels good to be told your beautiful. I believe shovelmaster was complimenting me on a purely platonic basis ;)
Yes,
I will be at PP and like everyone else on here, I believe if we do make it to tonights clue...it would be wise to be like first or second in line for the paper...cuz this clue is probably gonna blow the roof off the joint!

No, Thursday and Friday Regman. Not last night.
WW, don't you think you and reg look enuff alike to be brothers?
It's fine Shovelmaster. Just trying to keep things light. Plus detract from others who might have ideas of getting a cooler hookup.
Hey Slim, other guys think you are hot. Maybe we should take you down to melt the snow?
AND Timmers, Green.
do you really want to be the first in line if the clue litteraly blows the roof off the pp??? anywho... i keep thinking the great leap with 2 or 3,, refers to something in clue 2 or 3... from the high bridge you can see soo clear a view of our captitol dome... as of 3,, screw it.
Regman, are you a member of the Backstreet Boys or NSync? If so, you have enuf money...stop hunting immediately... hehe. Just kidding man.
Does that mean youdon't think I am TMK? LOL. well, they haven't seen me in my huge down cute, two pairs of pants, funny hat, and snot-crusted gloves. And you have.
'Slim, I don't think Tim and WW look anything alike!
No Regman and Tim do.
Slim, I'm an engaged man. I can't be commenting on that.
