Well I just noticed that at Harriet, there are paddleboats called the Betsy NORTHrup and the Anson NORTHrup (coldest star?). But Harriet still bugs me. The only place you can see the Capitol clearly from is under the high bridge (as far as I know) and that's not really near where the paddleboats are. Plus, I find it hard to believe that the cluewriter would hide the thing in the main part of the park and then walk all the way over under the highbridge and write a clue about something they saw from there. The only other place you can see the Capitol from is on the walkway west of the parking lot, but that's still not very close to the main part of the park, nor is the view from there very clear. But if the thing was hidden at say Kellogg, or even Raspberry Island or Cherokee, I can't imagine using the names of the paddleboats as clues.
Jester-- morning! i looked for you and your hat last night! i got there around 10:30, and it was packed. i thought it wouldn't be out until 11:30 too! guess that's not right!
AW, if you go to the main entrance on top of it (walking path), go to the west about 40 paces or so, look towards the flag, you can only see the Capitol Dome, just the top of it. It's clear as day. You will notice it just to the left of the bright white top of the ST. Paul bldg. from this point in the park, you are almost in the center (soul). If you can't find it I'll show you tonight.
Everyone who was there seemed rather surprised as well last night. We went in, filled out the registrations, milled around a bit and then suddenly people started running and it was apparent the paper was out. The guy running the promotion couldn't believe so many people were leaving already.
AW, do you know which dock the Northrups are at?
They're at the one where the Jonathan Paddleford also is at. Apparently there are four that dock there, those three and the Harriet Bishop.
round and round must be the shape of the light globes? round and round you'll get there - word scramble there/three three round globes on same pole near the entrance, near the view of the capitol dome. for everyone who knows where I've been searching, I'll be in the same spot again in a little while. just my take on it so far, but I believe it has given us a pinpoint, to line this up with & has given street names and park. Everyone who's thinking Justice Ohag (streetname /truth clue) try the Ohag great lawn. why give out so much info? It's snowing and there has been more people here everyday without snow, I would be proud to walk someone right to it, even if I can't find it, I'll know I got close again this year.
Good morning all- still sick : ( I don't think last nite's clue is good enough to have me out getting worse! I still like the paddleboat as the explanation for it though. I am with AW to though, with the view of the Cap dome... durn it.
my other idea of late: do you think that Treasure hunt lifer could be telling us that you'd find it if you were familiar with past treasure hunts. i think it might be hidden in the exact same spot it's been before.
Slim, sorry to hear you're still ailin'...about the dome deal. I couldn't see it at Harriet last night. Apparently wasn't looking in the right direction or something--could see the Cathedral clear as day, but couldn't see the Cap. Now that someone pointed it out to me on here, maybe.....maybe, I'll reconsider Harriet.
It's not just the triple E that bothers me at Harriet, but the whole clue #3. While you could go to the pavilion and stay warm and dry, their doors are far from being always open. Unless they're talking about being able to see the Radisson from there maybe.
I agree AW. That's a big reason I'm not sold on Harriet...part of it was the Cap, but now that Jaz pointed out where you can see it, I'm still having a hard time with it being there. Drove by Newell yesterday for giggles....Walker Field (Hamline), baseball stadium (play the sport)and the space needle (red,white,blue)...no capitol sign or the real capitol that I could see. There may have been a church nearby, but didn't really, really look. Kinda ruled that place out in my head, but who knows? I may end up at Como yet......Day 11 and I'm still not sure where I'm goin.
It wouldn't be at Como. None of the clues line up there. Well I guess I'm going to get dressed and head back to Harriet and see if it makes any more sense this time around.
I think so. But I can't miss clue 11 tonight. If I had a bullet in my chest, and was in the hospitol, I would literally rip the IV's out and go down to the PP. It's so close!
Hey, THX, is there any way I could convince you to lose the screen of announcement in the sticky post? Reduce the font size, or make a link to another post, or.. SOMETHING? :(
so what song was that?? sooo,, i fell asleep waiting for a class today, cuz i dont sleep ever, and someone stole my bag that was right next to me while I was sleeping,, I HATE MINNEAPOLIS SOOO MUCH!!!,, yes, in a classroom too.. it was recovered in the bathroom though a few hours later... soo,, yeah,,, did you all check the heal of your boots?
I still want to leave the info about being moderated. Even with that message I've had to send out about 100 e-mails & messages to people telling them they're being moderated.

11:07 am
the hunt is still on :)
Hmmm, well that might change some things then because that dome thing was always a sticking point with me about Harriet.
round and round must be the shape of the light globes?

I doubt it Jaz, unless I have a miraculous recovery : (
hi everyone- ITS COLD OUT THERE!
I have spent a lot of time at Harriet
Not looking anywhere else. nope, not gonna do it.
It's not just the triple E that bothers me at Harriet, but the whole clue #3. While you could go to the pavilion and stay warm and dry, their doors are far from being always open. Unless they're talking about being able to see the Radisson from there maybe.
but not the triple E. any help out there?
The levee or Levee Road?

Hey Timmer- you off of school today?
It wouldn't be at Como. None of the clues line up there. Well I guess I'm going to get dressed and head back to Harriet and see if it makes any more sense this time around.
I am sick too. I hope to be feeling better around 10 or so.

I think so. But I can't miss clue 11 tonight. If I had a bullet in my chest, and was in the hospitol, I would literally rip the IV's out and go down to the PP. It's so close!
I feel the exact same way, Tim.
Me too! I'm not feeling well myself but I don't care. I want to be there tonight.
Wish I wasn't working now so I could be out in the park.
I have to go Jaz. I have the day off tomorrow anyway.
Wish I wasn't working now so I could be out in the park.
