Boy it really would be nice to get the glory for picking the right park on the 10th day of the hunt. We have such a large audience that would be so greatful for our insight.
I'm still opposed to the mentality that those who post are somehow superior to those who don't. Many people have come forward this year saying they used to be lurkers but now they feel comfortable enough to post. In my first year on the cooler I mostly lurked because I was still trying to feel my way around and wasn't sure what to say right away. For other people it can take even longer. And some people just hate the spotlight and don't like to post their ideas because they dread the thought of them being shot down.
When I first joined the cooler, I sat there mostly and listened to other people's ideas. I never would have known it was in Cherokee that year. I didn't even know Cherokee was a park. But because I did get the information in the cooler, I did make it out to the park to hunt and I got to see how much fun it was and it made me want to come back the next year and be more active.
So as far as I'm concerned the people who lurk are still people nonetheless and they may even very well be coolerheads int he making. So no, I'm not going to play the disinformation game.
Yes they are still people. But alot of them are joining us today for the 1st time. Too late for this kindness. Invite them back on January 20th next year, but stop telling everyone where to go today.
Mapguy: The logic has been spread around for several days. I don't feel obliged to repeat it again.
I'll say this: None of the parks fit as well as one should fit this far into the hunt. Something just doesn't sit right. That aside, however, HI is the closest thing we've got at the moment.
Well, I have been "lurking" off and on today; been busy and don't have much to contribute. I am going out to "a" park tonight but am undecided as to where!!
That's what the anchors reported. Mentioned that their cameras had caught folks at Scheffer today and made some comment about why anyone would be digging in the ground.
Queen M, these hunts are a great example of the IQ of our fellow man. I think we could thin the herd a little if we start talking about the treasure being on the river itself.
The prairie grasses and wildflowers aren't an issue as raking through that sort of stuff just serves to encourage reseeding. It's the rest of the destruction that drives me crazy. Let me catch you destroying something and I'll have half the park down your back in a second.
Of course there's always Tower Park with the references to Lord of the Rings.
don't know if the news is ALWAYS rite

Como fits with *
But it's just not at Como. It's at Harriet.
all of you lurkers go to mounds
that she thinks the medallion is by the McKight Stachue
Matt..great logic. Now think of the competition.

THX...take it down!!!!
What competition?

If I had a dollar for every lurker...

Next year's Pre-dig gig will be at McGoverns. That's a great time to start the hunt.
What competition???
2k3 you wouldent need to look for the medallion
It's so true East Side

ugly hunt ? SOON on channel 5
How about that overlook park named after Gilbert something right by the capital?
NOOO. Not the TV news!! Say nothing!
They saw the Medallionators?
Cass Gilbert Memorial Park
It's not ugly. It's just different from hers.
The Medallionators would lead them to Buggs.
Cat Fight!
Peanut is just jealous.
Well I'm heading out now to that secret park that no one knows about where the paddleboats are.
And it's not Como
Just a reminder to people.
SEARCH, DO NOT DESTROY.
Thanks, Red!
Just saw on channel 5 that the folks who put on the hunt have issued a warning.
Folks are ripping up ground and if it continues, the hunt could get cancelled.
search, don't destroy
Good Luck at Watson Allison!
Really Ter? Did they have any offical spokespeople on to tell us that?
Wow Terry V! I have been just shocked at some of the destruction I have seen this past two days...
That's what the anchors reported. Mentioned that their cameras had caught folks at Scheffer today and made some comment about why anyone would be digging in the ground.
I have seen bark peeled off trees, broken branches, etc.
The PP would not have that med where people would destroy (buried) would they?
The rules say search but don't destroy.

There might be just a little jelous in her but not 100%.
That is GREAT Map Guy!!!
Years ago, the treasure was hidden in the ice in Phalen Creek.

BRB: dinner has arrived.
