It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

cal tru how bouts the arlington hs idea / arlington ave runs into como park?
I don't know joe...I just don't think it's at Como. I'm still thinking Highland. Don't know if this has been mentioned earlier, but the last time it was at Highland was 5 years ago in 1994...that may explain the 954 thing?!?
the medallion needs to be postmarked by tonight, and Battle Creek doesn't have askiing hill, but the have a sledding hill and they just opened up a lighted cross country ski trail
ALRIGHT YOU FOOLS BEEN LISTENING TO YOU FOR 5 DAYS AND NO ONE IS MAKING ANY SENSE ! 10K ON THE LINE LETS GET WITH THE PROGRAM !! NEED JUST THE FACTS AND ONLY THE FACTS
Highland has a sledding hill, iconoclast = highlander, 954 could be what I explained earlier...or it could refer to any of the sports activities that are out there.
Joe, in the dictionary I had this is the exact defintion of iconoclast 'one who destroys sacred images.one who attacks and seeks to overthrow traditional or popular ideas or institutions
Guess i am goin to find it tommorow cause i have no skewl (i know how it is spelled) and i am goin to gathher the clues and makin my dad skip work and goin huntin all day yay!
Joe - I don't think iconoclast = dramatist. Besides, do you really think it would be downtown at Mears (isn't that where it is?) And, aren't all the ice sculptures at Rice? I don't think it would be there.
sister i somewhat agree but if you look at the general meaning of iconoclast i think it has more to do with the religous meaning hence, the indian connection or church sites which were torn down?
Hi~just a couple of quick ideas...I'm thinking one of two parks:
Linwood--has the NEW rec. center, but is in the OLD neighborhood, has sports teams which would be KEEPING SCORE, has the hill on St. Clair Avenue (since it is for traffic and not sleds, meets implication to STAY AWAY FROM THE ACTION), rec center presumeably has NUMBERS ON THE FRONT DOOR, also has Linwood School nearby, and now the big giveaway--reverse "nil," and you get "lin," hence "LINWOOD!!!"
or...
Langford--has the St. Anthony elementary school IN THE PARK, is in historic (OLD) neighborhood, "flying downhill...(stay away from the action)" could imply the nearby State Fair giant slide or rollercoaster, I don't know, figure it out yourself!
allwell i am tired and i am outta here i will be on l8er ok guys thanks for the tips and sorry i dont like big hunter he is dumb or mentally challenged big time if he doesnt like what we are sayin tough stuff for him but he seems like a jerk sorry for comeing to a conclusion
But todays clue talks about learning...HP schools are across the street from the park. Also, "goal" is used. There is a HP ice arena in the vicinity, too. ITS GOTTA BE HP!
Wish the server worked better. The board isn't nearly as useful as last year. I'm really surprised to see that there was very little discussion about last night's clue. Did everyone assume is means a school? I don't necessarily think so. It says "yearning for something worth learning", not a "place of learning". What about a museum (has things worth learning)? I like the library idea too. Any other ideas? Hope tonight's clue is a little more informative.
I'm still not convinced the 'yearn to learn' isn't Univeristy Avenue. After all, how many clues to we have that indicate streets? Last year, there were LOTS of street clues.

Now you have me stumped big guy, I thought my female persuasiveness would have pulled you to como, but I am so confused
Did Battle Creek Park ever have down hill skiing. That would work with clue No. 2.
belly any barnes and noble the button however is now mute if not postmarked lastr night
carole battle creek is up the hill from holman field/flying downhill
the medallion needs to be postmarked by tonight, and Battle Creek doesn't have askiing hill, but the have a sledding hill and they just opened up a lighted cross country ski trail

Belly- Joe is mistaken. The registration for the button has to be postmarked by tonight (the 28th)
Doesn't just about every park have a school (or library) near it?

ALRIGHT YOU FOOLS BEEN LISTENING TO YOU FOR 5 DAYS AND NO ONE IS MAKING ANY SENSE ! 10K ON THE LINE LETS GET WITH THE PROGRAM !! NEED JUST THE FACTS AND ONLY THE FACTS
sis is right <sorry still sleep walking feels like saturday to me>
but with the 954 thing -- 9, 5 and somewhere a 4-- you cant add the 4 into the equasion....
sister tell me this couldnt iconoclast also mean a dramatist which would link the down town theatre thing to rice or mears?
Joe,
Highland has a sledding hill, iconoclast = highlander, 954 could be what I explained earlier...or it could refer to any of the sports activities that are out there.
how 'bout this 9 a 5 and somewhere a 4 figure these out and youll shout figure= mathe problem 54 divided by 9 = 6 6 = indian burial mounds?

Sister Sister, why does iconoclast = highlander? Please explain.
sister i somewhat agree but if you look at the general meaning of iconoclast i think it has more to do with the religous meaning hence, the indian connection or church sites which were torn down?

I still believe Newell, believed it since clue #2. Como is a close second though. Will be at Newell tonight unless clue #6 reveals otherwise
Sensei - Do a search to see previous explanations of iconoclast = highlander. Lots of people were giving explanations.

JD #2 - you're linwood theory is good.
But todays clue talks about learning...HP schools are across the street from the park. Also, "goal" is used. There is a HP ice arena in the vicinity, too. ITS GOTTA BE HP!
Is it just me or is posting on here a real pain in the butt?
Why do I have to effectively re-login in every time (or at all, for that matter)?
Anyway, Linwood sounds like a real possibility. Not sure how the iconoclast fits in, though.
What's up everybody?
Heh Sister, you and I seem like the only ones that still think that its in HP....

(DINGO MAN ) SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING I WOULD HUNT. AND YOU BETTER RUN

Kids - FINALLY, somebody who agrees!
JOHN DOE # 2, ok so theres the nil are you gonna supply the wood??? where do you get the wood???
Sensei, what trivia? Sister, I suppose I'll see you out there, since we are the only ones who still think that its out there...
