Anybuddy remember when Maureen was on here the udder nite?

She was yapping with me... Said, "green, you ready to take it down a notch?" And, how DEEP do you want to fish, green?"

Couldn't make heads or tails of it that nite, but by the next nite I had it: Both times she was referring to the sub statue at Como - ittiz in honor of many subs in the war, specially the "Swordfish."

I wrote her off as looney-tunes. Totally in denial about HI and/or Cherokee or where ever. Thought to myself, "Yeah, rite, Maureen. Shure... Como. A-huh. Keep dreaming, girlfriend."

Damn her GREAT noodlin' hide!!!!! She was right on the money!!! And I blew her off!!!!

Damn. She's one good noodler. One o'the best. Wish I'd had more faith (sigh).

GOOD JOB, MAUREEN!!!!

It is Robert Duvall. It's from the movie THX 1138.

You weren't the only one in denial about Como, Green. Hubby took me there the other nite and I didn't really look toooo hard. Wasn't convinced it was at HI either. I kept thinking it would be someplace like Beaver Lake Park or some other obscure place.....

Wow! My friend was very smart. I thought he was loony. Wasn't that Lucas' first movie? No idea what it was about and Duvall was the star, huh? Pardon my ignorance. Live long and prosper (I know, Trekkie reference, but don't know proper Star Wars saying)

You guys know that cartoon thighy that says, "You want it WHEN?" And it's got these like three little round headed, round nosed, round fingered/feeted little people on it? Rolling around slapping their thighs and laughing hysterically????

That's the mental image I've carried all day long of what the folks at PP are doing... And doing high-fives...

Snookered. We were snookered.

Clowns,

I am sure plenty of people had thought of that, but for the few who hadn't, why did you have to give away the idea? Damn. Ok, so I think because it's officially, for better or worse, the last night of the hunt, you guys need to ditch the jackets one last time and do the bare chested dig! Whatdya say?

In many years past you could have whooped for joy when you found The Med and walked outta the park alive.

THIS year, I think one best beee vewy, vewy quiet and sneak away... Else you're liable to have a couple thousand folks beat the crap outta ya!

Wow! My friend was very smart.

Yes he was/is.

I thought he was loony.

It is kind of loony.

Wasn't that Lucas' first movie?

Yes, it was. He did the original THX 1138 (Electronic Labyrinth) while still in college.

No idea what it was about and Duvall was the star, huh?

It's about a society where people are drugged to keep them under control and from reproducing.

Pardon my ignorance.

Hey, no one knows about THX 1138. I chose the username because much like on the net, in the movie people are merely numbers instead of real life names and faces.

Live long and prosper (I know, Trekkie reference, but don't know proper Star Wars saying)

The proper "Star Wars Response" would have been "Come, Luke, to the dark side of the force".

Alright, here's what we've got so far.

Clue 1 - Crueler Crew poem is by fredrick schiller, parked is a loose reference.
Clue 2 - Capitol dome may unfortunately be a sign with the dome on it, or the view from the hill.
Clue 3 - Keep yourself warm, shelter by the bird sanctuary? The Es are the gates that we all know about.
Clue 4 - Coldest star may be a northern reference. Who cares? Red, White, and Blue, there are tanks of these colors in the bird sanctuary.
Clue 5 - Still unknown to me about Como.
Clue 6 - "
Clue 7 - This has too many weird explanations right now. Too late in hunt to sort them out.
Clue 8 - "
Clue 9 - "
Clue 10 - "
Clue 11 - Horton, Como, away from sculptures, away from pool, vultures could mean yet another bird sanctuary reference?

This was all done in the last few hours on the chat. It's more than I've gotten out of the Crew so far this year. :( But we won't count this one. What do you guys think? Fill in the blanks. While it might not be of any help these are starting to fit a little better in my stomach.

Hey, did anybody else shine their flashlight up the Schiller statue to see if the medallion was stuck "where the sun don't shine"?

I think, Matt, that obviously we're nothing but a stupid, ignorant, dim-witted, shallow-thinking, illiterate, tunnel-visioned bunch of dumb-heads that are not up to your elite caliber of thinking - since you not gotten anything out of us. And that since the "chatters" benefit you better and you're able to get more out of them, you should join them and not darken this place any longer.

It's perfectly clear you're not benefiting yourself here, so why stay and subject yourself to all this ignorance? That's not very bright of you...

Green: You're obviously too proud of your realm to bear any form of criticism whatsoever. Your sarcasm is rephrehensible and if I didn't value your opinion [about the hunt] along with everyone else here, I wouldn't answer because that shit you give me every year I call the shots as I see them is unworthy of conversation.

I'm not even going to bother defending myself any further to you because you obviously don't understand.

eminem: como. my thoughts so far seem to work slightly better than the rest of the feelings regarding the bird sanctuary; you would think that even while the hunt this year is tough as nails, there'd still be a spread of clues that indicate geographical landmarks, park location, visual landmarks, and things of that ilk. the visual landmarks are pretty decent in my lowdown, and since it's so far in the hunt that the park has been named, who needs the park and geography? it's all about lining it up and giving it a shot.

of course, all bets are off in 3ish hours. I can't even begin to imagine what this will turn out looking like

I hope whoever finds it--if it hasn't already been found--is from this cooler crew and has been brainstormin since day 1. Kind of a victory for anyone who participated in here right?

I won't lie. I want a "Crew" member, or a "Crue" memeber to find it.

I could then die happy.

Sorry-I forgot the rest. I saw your interest in geocaching. It is a GREAT way to learn the parks in the off-season. The Minnesota Geocaching Associationis having their Winter Event at Como Sunday. Got questions ? Just ask.

This is not *my* realm, Matt, but OUR - The Cooler Crew's - realm.

And you have - as you do every year - done nothing but whine, complain, bitch, moan, be snide and be rude. You are quick to condem, jibe, and be cruel in your disagreeing.

I am well able to handle criticism - I get it damn near every post - but not from the likes of you when you do nothing but try and tear this place down in your effected writing.

Why can't you just mellow out? Why can't you say things like, "You know that's pretty good/decent/fair noodling, but this is my take..." instead of condemning everything that doesn't jive with what YOU think. Why can't you just relax and be nice? Quit making people out to be stupid, slow, dumb, ignorant. Why do you have to point fingers and always find such bad in everything here? Again, if it's so bad, go elsewhere.

I think this is the first year one could read too much into the clues and come out ahead, vs. like how the clues have been read/figured out in past years.

I don't know that makes sense, or I xplained myself well, but... I think it needed a different way of looking at the clues this year. Way different than in the past four or so years.

Now Croix, that's very interesting. Not common knowledge, I don't think. And, it was posted here that ol'Perry did a song (I think named) "Round and Round." Not positive, but thinking back.

Otay... Here's green Conspiracy Theory 2003:

My opinion izz that there is no way the carpenter's beau can beee but Carpenter's bowed bandshell on Raspberry Island.

Otay... given *that* and then all the subsequent damage that was done/being done at HI... The Med was pulled from HI or Chair-O-Key and moved to Como, with a new clue written to get us there.

So the damage to HI would stop...

Oh, well! What would it beee w/o a conspiracy theory from me! LOL!!!

Green: I did think that about moving the Med to keep the destruction away from HI;
and by the way, I did not critisize you with damn near every post!:-)

I had heard there was supposed to be a warning in the paper last night to "Search, Don't Destroy". Was it in there?

Green: I think the turn around was at that station, but don't know if horse or electric; I tried to find on internet, but did'nt find much;

Apparently 3 of the flag light lens were broken at HI and in Kellog they caught a guy trying to bust into an electrical box. All the sand bags were tore open too.

Wow, they really were a bunch of vultures.
