I just got back since I had a long drive. I left there around midnight. What a sight! Glad I didn't stick around.
However, I must say that after all this, I'm still disappointed with the clues. After I gave up trying to figure out where in the woods we were supposed to go from the last clue, I decided to try and match up the rest of the clues to that area. I couldn't do it! And if I did do it, I can't imagine there's one thing about how they matched up that would have made me think that spot was a good candidate before clue 11.
Sethmon - Interesting you should say that. I agree with the rush of people, but with this being in a more heavily wooded area, it seemed quite a bit different to me.
Ya know what? I don't think i've ever seen a 'fallen down stump'. A stump is not real top-heavy and it tends to stay stuck upright in the ground. What is a fallen down stump, exactly?
I'm not sure sethmon. I hope so, I want to see it myself. I intend to, even if I have to follow the last clue step by step to find it myself, assuming the area hasn't been ripped apart...
They asked us for suggestions on how to make the hunt better. I made some and Trent, the guy making the movie sent them to the PP. One of the comments I made was "Actually, they could give us 11 clues of absolute fluff and then tell us where it was on the 12th clue, and though people would grumble about the explanations for about a week, it would still end up being remembered as a great hunt." I think they took me seriously. Still, I'd prefer to have at least some shot at finding the thing by being able to figure the clues out. In this hunt, I swear they could have posted the first 10 clues, then decided to hide it at whatever park they wanted to that had the fewest people in it, and then make up explanations to the clues to fit that park.
Speaking of the rehash bash, should we have it down by the fire rings? There's picnic tables down there, right? I thought someone said they had some firewood - or we now know those woods pretty well to help ourselves to some.
Before everyone leaves, remember to watch these boards and my Yahoo Group as we put on our own hunts throughout the year. We have prizes of up to $500. Maybe we'll even get more this year.
Actually I might stop by the rehash bash too, why not? Maybe I can get some fellow coolerheads to show me the spot, learn a bit, and at least when I'm out in the parks (I plan to be alot this summer now) people might recognise me, stop by and say hello.
If your here, THANK YOU! And thank your friend for me! We were running together at the end. He was reading the clue and I was leading the way to the spot. I had walked that track earlier today and knew just where to go, but it wouldn't have helped without the clue!
They gave us the park in clue 3. That's a hard-to-deny clue, right out of the Hunter's Guide. Most of us were understandably in 'Como Denial' however. I don't see where they narrowed it after 3, tho. Xplanations should be interesting.
Mounds would be interesting, everyone likes to look there.. Battle creek, that'd just be a fun hunt... Phalen would make an easier win for me :)
Mounds is a fun park to hunt. So is Cherokee.
I am glad though that the clues sent us to Harriet Island at first. Really got to know that newly renovated place. Beautiful park!
looks like every body is home from the park
man, I'm just a year older than them... Anyone recognize any coolerheads in that bunch?
Not in the names of the finders - but then who knows?
At least they are eligible for the full award. They had registered buttons.
As will I next year, well ahead of the hunt.
The explanations will be up by morning if not before.

Just got back from Como, i've never seen a sight like it before. craziness, pure craziness
Allison, I agree. This afternoon I mapped the general area, but didn't figure that far south.
I think all but a couple clues were general park clues and not things seen from the treasure site.
hi 2k3

hey east side, hows it going?
all right had to work tonight so i missed it

If the finders come to the rehash bash, they can show us. It's not marked any other way.

2k3 you going to the re hash bash
Night Redram
Speaking of the rehash bash, should we have it down by the fire rings? There's picnic tables down there, right? I thought someone said they had some firewood - or we now know those woods pretty well to help ourselves to some.
The fire would keep us warmer.
see ya redram
My thoughts exactly Allison
Well it's too late now for a pity party. Do we want to have one Thursday night? Maybe at Gabe's? Or just wait until Sunday?
They moved it.
Yeah, I'll be at the re-hash
The fire rings would be better than the gazebo again. I could maybe bring some wood.
Sethmon - Show up at the rehash bash!
Allison - Gabes sounds good to me. I think Gabs was the gabby clue by the way.

I'm just happy I can sleep in tomorrow. Are these the same woods people were searching last night?
I wasn't searching those woods last night, but several folks I saw said they were hunting them today.
What a great hunt (at the end anyways). I met a lot of people this year and had a lot of fun. Every year I meet more and more.
Actually I might stop by the rehash bash too, why not? Maybe I can get some fellow coolerheads to show me the spot, learn a bit, and at least when I'm out in the parks (I plan to be alot this summer now) people might recognise me, stop by and say hello.
One can never have too many friends and there aren't more interesting, nice folks to call friends than coolerheads.
Just back from Como. Gonna go back and slog the "big announcement"
nite all see every one at the re hash bash

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
It's a potluck sort of thing. Bring something if you can, yourself for sure about noon on Sunday.
It's a potluck, it's Sunday, sounds like it will be at the fire rings of the West Picnic Grounds. Time is usually around 1?

Terry, do you know how long it lasts? Do people stick around a few hours?
