The first rehash bash we made for 11:30 am - 12 hours different from when the clue would come out online. I figure noon for the same reason now that the clue comes online at midnight.
Counting all lurkers who are coolerheads too...probably 1000?
The clue explanations should be out soon. I'm thinking by morning for sure. Depends on how ready they were to pop those on the website when we'll see them overnight.
Oh, Digger, that sucks. You missed a mess. It almost made me sad to see it go to 12 just because of that. The random mad dash just made it sad and kind of drained the fun. A bunch of people who probably never looked before just getting the fever cause they knew clue 12 ws a dead giveaway. Makes it suck for folks like you who have been out there diggin days on end.
I truly hope to see everyone of you at the rehash bash.
Inks and I don't spend many nights down at the PP...and I know there aren't hundreds that usually do. We're all just normal(???) folks with a like obsession about blue pucks. Come meet others and put faces with names.
I'm thinking I'll try geocaching this summer too, would be excellent park practice... except for clues... gotta find a way to keep myself mentally sharp for those...

Watch for our "mock hunts". I do one every year after the Medallion Hunt, usually in March. I might delay this one a bit to give people a chance to recover, but I will do one. Last year the prize was $500 and it went to 11 clues. But it is a good way to stay in practice.
Hehe, good ideas.. I'd like to participate in the mock hunts for sure... mysteries.. haven't really ever read any but that's a good thought...
Speaking of mad dashes and all, I'd like to find the puck on the full weekend of the hunt, right in the middle, when there's not too many people out, but the ones that are typically are the die hard hunters, not so many "on a whim" types.
I ,also, didn't like tonight the people that just seemed to be there b/c it would be a "easy buck" and they had never cared before... I saw a TON of those folks
Yes, but I bet for many that's how it starts. I bet a lot of them will be back next year before the last clue comes out.
Chainsaws.. I mighta seen that, I did see the leaf blower guy, awful racket, and I don't see how that could be an effective tool for a hunt.. seems a rake would be better...
But a chainsaw.. you'd think that could be considered destroying stuff... could you imagine cutting the medallion in half lookin for it?
Actually there were more than leafblower out there. I told Ares I was near a leafblower, and he went next to one, but more towards Hamline and Horton. I even saw a guy out there with a boat oar.
One sign of a long hunt is how bad this house gets. No dishes done for about 3 days, mail piled up, laundry piled up, long johns piled up, boots, gloves, hoods all over the place and a car full of digging tools.
Well.. it's late, last late night of hunt stuff for the year. Hope to see alot of you at the rehash, but I'll probably be on the forums the next couple days (can't just up and quit once the hunt is over, I'll probably stick around all year, just not as frequent).

It usually lasts a few hours. People come and go. Usually done about 4 or so when folks get tired and cold.
I gotta think of something to bring to that party.
Something sandy or islandy I think. Hmmmmmm.
I haven't slogged yet. Did a cooler crew find it?
Cool, I'll make sure to stop by then, Sounds like I should be in time
It can last a few hours. Depends on how warm people are able to stay. Although it seemed last year's didn't last too long even with a warming house.
I'm not feeling sulky this year. Must be because it lasted so long and I'm almost relieved it's over and I can get back to regular sleep patterns.
I didn't recognize the names of the 3 gentlemen that found it. That doesn't mean they aren't one of us. We'll have to wait and see.
Hey- just got home. what a mess! congrats to those three hunters (grudgingly). So does anyone know when they will give us the explanations?
What post # was it found on?
I missed the chainsaw - but the leaf blower was funny though noisy.
Some one had a chainsaw?
most of us left around the same time. A cop car came down (we were almost all together) and shouted it over his bullhorn.
I didn't see any chainsaw!! For real? Why?

Mock hunts are a great way of keeping the noodler in good shape so next year we can all misinterpret these clues again! LOL!!

Easy buck my behind. I feel like I just got back from behind enemy lines.

I was by a log and stepped on something. Got all excited until I saw it was a rock and not ice.
One of my coworkers will be happy, he was tired of hearing the office gab about it...
I'm sure my office mates will be happy. I'll be there in mind as well as in body.

Well crud, you mean I have to find a job now?
