You can do a google search for gifs - animated or otherwise and then when you find one you like, right click on it and "save as" to a file on your computer. You can usually determine how large they are if you right click and go to properties.
Hi all! I just got back & slogged. I was parked a the corner of Beulah&como for the whole thing. I didn't go in, but hubby& son did. Thet said it was a trip. I watched from the sidelines, as I didn't wanna bring the critter in there. She was scared of the lights & noise. I had to laugh at those 2 guys calling out each other's names the whole time. Terry, your house sounds like mine. I will be at the rehash. What to bring? Hmmm perhaps some cheese LOGS and bread STICKS???
I'll call them tomorrow and see what arrangements I can make. You can look for me if need be. I'm the one in a black hat that tends to stand out in a crowd anyway.
It was sheer madness in those woods tonight. There were leafblowers as previously mentioned. There were also a couple guys with portable generators powering halogen worklights. Those babies really light up the night. With the two bright lights and motor running, I almost thought there was a Bobcat in there!
This was the first time I've ever been in the park when the announcement came. I heard it first through the police bullhorn, but couldn't really understand what they were saying. People started walking out. I found somebody with a cell phone and we called the PP, but the message said the hunt was still on. I was heading out to get my bearings. Once outside the woods, there was just too much traffic leaving the park for me to believe that it had not been found. Another squad drove by and the officer inside verified that it had been found. I left for home, feeling strangely satisfied.
It's hard to do the hunts of other cities since I grew up in St. Paul and really don't know any suburb other than Roseville well enough to do a hunt there.
Remember when I bumped into you guys after the "lure" clue at Harriet a few nights ago and I asked if you were the same ICP guys that I saw bare chested on several previous occassions? You guys both said yes, unless you are not the guys I spoke to. Irregardless, why the last year hunting as clowns? You have almost as much of a following as the real ICP. Take care, all. Better luck to the cooler crew in 2004. We didn't find it, correct?
So before the official explanations come out, does anyone have a guess what the clues might have actually meant?
Here's my guess:
Clue 1 A crueler crew we never knew Than those whose barbs have stung us Faith be anew, here's your first clue: The puck, it's parked among us.
It's in a Saint Paul (among us) park (parked).
Clue 2 Standing here, you can see, so clear A view of our Capitol dome. If it's treasure you seek, nearby you should peek And you may see our medallion's home.
Not entirely sure. I think you could see the Conservatory dome from near where it was found. Maybe that was the dome they meant and it belong to the capital city (with an arbitrary spelling change just to throw us off).
Clue 3 Keep yourself warm, away from the storm Even in the dead of winter. Wide as triple E, our door will always be Open to all who enter.
You could see the conservatory from that area, which would apply to the first two lines. If the triple E was that gate on Midway, I guess it was just referring us to the park in general.
Clue 4 The coldest star will guide you far In finding the puck this year The red white and blue is a lovely clue Your legions should hold dear
Como is a northern park (north star being the coldest star). I couldn't see anything red, white, and blue from that area.
Clue 5 Treasure hunt lifer, prepare to cipher. This one's yours to keep. Was it two or three, they seem not to agree When St. Paul made a great leap.
I think this is referring to the founding of Como Zoo when they got some deer donated to them (yours to keep), but there was some dispute now over whether it was 2 deer or 3. Again, just bringing us to the park.
Clue 6 Of course we all know there's not too much snow To cover the place where it's lying But do not dismay, we'll find a way To stick it where the sun ain't shining
It was under leaves.
Clue 7 Rid of the man she ran and ran, They say she was quite the talker. A carpenter's beau - many said so - Neared the finish with a walker.
Still no idea what this could have meant even though I know where it was now.
Clue 8 Head on out, have not a doubt A good time to take a stroll Gab aloud with the hunting crowd Lure me precious to your soul
Walking paths? Gab = Gabe's? precious referring to fire ring? Not really sure.
Clue 9 Here's a who done it, now you've begun it To solve this mystery of sorts If I were a sleuth, I'd search for the truth By playing this greatest of sports
It was by the baseball fields?
Clue 10 With a car, you don't get far And a horse would get you nowhere But celebrate, it's not too late For round and round, you'll get there
It wasn't too far from the carousel?
Clue 11 Who hears a who? Search a park with a zoo Better yet, cross the street from the sculptures It's a little bit cool for a dip in the pool But a woodsy course will feed you vultures
Cross over Horton from the snow sculptures, near the pool, and go into the woods.
Not till after Sunday, TMK. Pity party tomorrow at Gabes? Rehash Bash at the park with a zoo on Sunday.
LOL Terry! I'm down to my last pair of clean underwear.
Ian - I see you lurking. Good to see you, Kollin and Micky. Kollin sure has gotten big!
I suppose we should set a time? What about 7pm?
I think that works okay here, Allison.
You have to find a gif or jpeg file that is 17K or smaller. Once you have that saved to your hard drive, the rest is pretty simple.
You can ask for the cooler crew. We can let the wait staff know to let folks know where we are.
Or you can just go up to groups of folks and say You Dig?
You can do a google search for gifs - animated or otherwise and then when you find one you like, right click on it and "save as" to a file on your computer. You can usually determine how large they are if you right click and go to properties.
If the finders show up at the rehash bash, we'll be able to get an exact location...or from whoever was close hopefully.

My fiancee will be happy to have me back from the land of the hunting and insane.
Frosti - this was a satisfying hunt. I don't feel the let down - almost more like relief.
Rehash is always in the park the medallion is found. Anyone wanting to do the tavern scene after that is certainly welcome to do that too.
Pity party tomorrow at Gabes - 7pm.
Frosti - this was a satisfying hunt. I don't feel the let down - almost more like relief.
I agree. Not like last year.
I had a hard time believing they would send us into the woods like that for that very reason...dangerous to eyes and tripping hazzards.
Those woods were definatly a free for all! People everywhere crashing, on hands and knees, falling. It was great!
Time for this tired hunter to get undercovers here.
Goodnight, relax those tired muscles, SCDs and MCL!
Snowmommy - I'm looking forward to seeing it.
Does anyone have name tags to bring on Sunday?
With that....
Goodnight X 2.
I'm kinda hanging around for the 'splanations on PP. I spose it's too soon to put that part of my mind at rest, huh?
Goodnight, sweet coolers, parting is such sweet sorrow, so have SCD'S till it be morrow!!
Yep, I've gotta brush them teeth and head to bed. Some of us need to work in the morning. ;-)
SCD's and MCL to all!
It's hard to do the hunts of other cities since I grew up in St. Paul and really don't know any suburb other than Roseville well enough to do a hunt there.
I could, but I won't. After this, I'm definitely not hiding my treasure in Como.
It's uh, apparently been found.
Bummer.

That's my guess anyway.
They were probably evil lurker types who saw us post that it was Como.
Funny how in the end, so little really seems to matter.
allison...nice to kinda sorta meet you...i'm the girl with the fuzzy red coat (as i've said a bunch of times)
think the red white and blue is the space needle which you can see from the baseball fields
I post information here and in my Yahoo Group. You can find the link to it up here^^^^^
