So glad about tonite, THX and Scribe!!! Wish I could beee there - you're gonna beee something else, Scribe!
Do you KNOW how many kinds of hotdogs there ARE??? And how XPENSIVE real, natural skinned, true wieners are??? I finally gave up and got some Oscar Meyer or sumpin's. Sheesh! And white buns and wheat buns. And ketchup... And onions to chop for them, and three bags o'shredded cheddar. Gotta check the mustard sit-ee-a-shun... Still gotta get the bacon, but will get that at Lem's.
Stal's stoggies came! I'll beee bringing those...
Q-Tgal says that she can pick me up no matter what the weather, sleety or anything!!!! I GET TO GO!!! :D THANK YOU, Q-Tgal!!!!!!!
Got 1/2 gal o'milk - fur the kiddies, me, and anybuddy else... Two doz eggs and even remembered to get something to put all these effin' eggs in to get them there! :D
Do any of you guys have pokey-thighys for doing the Pigs In A Poke over the fire? Or are there enuff sticks lying about - I don't want anybuddy cutting sticks down... - we can use???
That Ann Bilansky thing has me more than befuddled. I've not found anything more than you guys have. Weird clue. Wonder where that information is...except maybe in the archives of the PP.
Yeah. I'm happier this way. You guys have always done so much for me, I felt like a creep imposing upon you to drive all the way over here... And bock... Particularly when I learned how close you are to Como.
I mean, I *would* have done it - had there been absolutely no udder way... But this way will work better and I don't have to have a case o'the guilts cause I made you go so far outta your way.
I know you'd have done it and only grumbled enuff to tease me, but I just feel better this way. Think easier on all concerned. I'm only a wee smidge outta Q-Tgal's way, so it should work slicker'un snot! :D
Ter, I more than understand. I would have felt bad for you to come all this way if the sun were shining and the roads dry... But I didn't know who else I could ask. One's got to have some sense about these things and it would only be sensible not to ask someone to drive all that distance on glare ice, particularly when they're chicken of it.
Q-Tgal has said more than once that no matter what the driving conditions, she's going. I feel better with that. Ittiz not like I'm asking her to drive in conditions that scare her, you know what I mean?
So, it all yust feels better. And I feel better having to impose on my fiends like this. So don't worry about it. We know damn well and good there will be another jam I'm in when you'll beee able to ride in on your white horse. :D
QTgal... I you know your way about out there in the sticks north, you can always come in Five to that same four-way stop intersection where Lem's izz... Make a left turn east and continue with the directions. Would cut a couple o'miles off...
You're more than welcome, Green. But I better get my butt of the 'puter and clean my house before Hubby gets home. Have a good night everyone. Hope to see y'all tomorrow. :)
I found an article, Cecil, Matthew, “Justice in Heaven: The Trial and Execution of Ann Bilansky.” Minnesota History 55, no. 8 (Winter 1997-1998): 350-363. at the Ridgedale library microfilm files. The Como Lake reference is 3 or 4 sentences in a 14 page article.
Ann escaped from jail after the conviction but before the sentencing and hid out in high grass near Como Lake. She became desperate and somehow got word to her nephew Walker. The two of them tried to get away but were nabbed somewhere near St. Anthony Falls. Her escape must have pissed off the judge, because the evidence was pretty flimsy. The only witnesses against her were 1) Walker's jilted ex-girlfriend, 2) the girlfriend's best friend, and 3) a medical examiner who based his findings on a test for arsenic that he had never used before and that was considered very unreliable. The hubby, Stanislaus Bilansky, was a 53 year old drunk, wife-beater, and hypochondriac who went to the doctor about 20 times each year because he thought he was dying. Governor Ramsey mandated a hanging sentence. The judge went along with him.
There is also a play about Ann that I'm going to look up. This whole thing fascinates me. However, I don't see how anyone would ever know about her. Mayber the PP clue writer saw the play. Maybe the PP people know about her because she was hung almost exactly at the current location of the PP offices.
I spent some time retracing the clues, taking pics this afternoon. I ran into these folks, whom I think you all know, trying to capture Mojo energy from the Site of the Medallion.
I hope visiting this holy place gives us all magic for next year's Hunt.
Just givin ya grief, THX.
Is there going to be a contingent of treasure hunters there?
Not that I know of. They didn't want the Crueler Crew this year.
Next year we'll have to talk to the Saint Paul Festival and Heritage Foundation and get in the parade.
Just givin ya grief, THX.
I know ya are. I'd actually stay at the St Paul if we were going to spend any time there other than sleeping.
He sounds like he really wants to belong somewhere and isn't sure that anyone wants him.
That sums it up pretty accuratly if you ask me.
Well, I'm outta here.
See ya all tomorrow if not before.
Still have to pick something up for tomorrow.
Have a great time tonight THX and Scribe!!!
Map Guy - No one invited us for the parade this year. I suppose we could just crash it.
Have fun doing the drill team stuff!

And thanks, Ter, for being willing to go the xtra mile (and then some!) for moi! I really appreciate it! :D
It's not the distance - it's the promised icier conditions. I'm chicken on ice. Maybe since that spin around and around on 94 a couple years ago.

The Minnesota State motto is "L'Etoile du Nord". It can be seen on the state seal at MN State Seal
You have been one busy widdo birdie, Rex...
I still say, "Conspiracy Theory 2003."
It sprouted frog's legs and hopped many miles to da'nord...
I spent some time retracing the clues, taking pics this afternoon. I ran into these folks, whom I think you all know, trying to capture Mojo energy from the Site of the Medallion.

Link doesn't work, Rex Nere... :(
I've snot gotten good mojo from revisiting the past five year's exact hiding places...
But I am getting a wee bit better on noodlin' the clues! (Just a wee tiny bit...)
I fixed it, green. I think you know those people.
Oh! I DO, REX!!! THANK YOU!!!
My gods, how The Boys have grown!!!
