THEY POSTED THE MEANINGS JUST A LITTLE BIT A GO WHAT TIME DO WE MEET ON SUNDAY? DO YOU GUYS WANT ME TO BRING MY DJ EQUIPMENT SUNDAY? DON'T FORGET THE VULCAN VICTORY DANCE SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thu, 01/30/2003 - 8:27 PM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

It starts at noon or so Sunday. I don't think DJ equipment will do much good though. We're going to be outside and I'm sure your equipment wouldn't care much for that. Plus there's a question about whether we're even going to have any power at all.

Hmmm, I didn't get in the article and I sat right across from her. (pout). Oh well. I have friends in LA and I was hoping they might see my name in the paper.

It was really nice to meet some of you today, and talk to a few people that I had met out there in the parks. Green, thank you for such a warm welcome. It was great to see AllisonWonderland and meet a few others. Terry V. was pointed out to me, but I didn't get a chance to meet him. I always thought Terry was female. Thanks all for hosting a very nice lunch. And the guys with the painted faces...good guys. I took a liking to them. You did look a little scary in the woods, though. See you all again!

Thanks FaithAnew. It was good having everyone. I didn't meet a lot of new people today for I wasn't feeling to well, and therefore not very social.

I did get to meet Redbear and FrozenButtox. My wife said she met a few others such as Oldtimer, Frozen Fingers & Medaldtctor(SP?).

I apologize for not intruducing myself to everyone, but I was just out of it today.

Check out our main hunt discussion thread while you're here.

King Boreas aka Ian

Ares is one of the few sons that Zeus and Hera had. It is important to note that Ares was disliked by both parents. He is the Greek god of war. Ares is considered murderous and bloodstained but, also a coward. He was never very popular in myth, and he was constantly outwitted by Athena. He was sent to trial for raping a daughter of Poseidon. He seemed to love the brutal aspects and the carnage of war. Ares, except for when he is on the battlefield, is usually displayed in myths as being Aphrodite's lover. He seemed hot-tempered and fell quickly to jealousy. It is thought that the golden boar that killed Adonis was actually Ares in disguise, acting on his jealousy. His bird is the vulture. His animal is the dog.

Ok, I know this will sound a little odd, but I'm going to ask anyway. On Saturday, February 15th, my singles club is having "Game Show Night". Since it's close to Valentine's Day, I thought it might be fun to have "The Dating Game" as one of the games. The problem is most everyone in the club already knows each other and I think it would be more fun to have a contestant they don't don't know.

So what I'm wondering is if there are any single people here (ideally in their 20's or 30's since that's the age group of the club) who might be willing to do this? If so, just send me an egram or post it or something.

AW where were you w/ such ideas about 5 yrs ago? I think something like that would be a blast.

5 years ago I was still working at the cable company. I was just completing my initiations into the Freemasons. And that pretty much was all the social life I had. I guess a lot can change in 5 years.

Good Evening!

Managed to put a couple more hours of overtime in today and we had our exit interview with the auditors. We did very well so I'm happy about that. Now we won't see them for a couple years. Hope the next time they need to be with our program, it's not during hunt season. What a pain that was!

Let's see...I'm too married and too old for any 20-30 year old singles group. Guess I won't need to put that event on my calendar.

Has everyone heard about this? http://www.arizonarepublic.com/news/articles/0204weboverdose.html

Some 21 year old guy sits in his bedroom one night, gets on IRC and with his webcam running, takes all kinds of prescription drugs, pot, and alcohol, and dies. Apparently there were about 11 people online watching him do this and some were egging him on, saying things like "That's not much...take more" and "If he dies, I got tabs on his drugs."
His mother was in the next room and had no idea this was happening, and the family didn't even know about the webcam and chat until a week later when they looked at his computer.

Looks like the gene pool just got another cleaning.

Thu, 02/06/2003 - 9:04 AM Permalink

unfortunately, the 11 other people weren't cleaned out of the gene pool at the time either.
