When I was a teenager I saw a Dateline Special or National Geographic Special that told us where the red color comes from for strawberry pop...it was some country in South America or Mexico where these red bugs live on this certain type of tree there...they go out in thefields of trees at these bug farms and take these 1000's of red bugsoff the trees and squash them with a huge rollerpin to flatten them and it squeezes the red dye from their bodies...and then sell it to pop companies.
Just remember that everytime you have bugjuice, er, I mean redpop!
no really guys...they actually showed the people picking the bugs from the trees and going back to their huts squashing them flat and the extremely red bugjuice in buckets.
I magine it would be a little tricky to try and spit with your tongue sticking out. Now if someone else were to spit on your tongue, that might work...(hehe). But it's not an urban myth. If the metal is cold enough, the moisture on your tongue will freeze pretty quickly and bond it pretty well to the metal. I've had the same thing happen to me before with just moisture on my fingers.
i'm guilty of getting my tongue stuck to a fence. never thought about spitting to unstick it though. and yes it is possible to spit with your tongue sticking out.

It was on my way to school (two blocks from home) on the day of the valentine's party in 4th grade. I don't think spitting on my own tounge was possible, maybe at first, but it was pretty dry. I think someone may have got some warm water to pour over it, but I still lost some skin and couldn't talk all day because my mouth wouldn't stop watering. Ahhhh memories...

I was just thinkin... if you actually did... why not just spit? It would unstick your tongue, would it not?

got mine stuck to the refrigerator when I was little, ripped alot of skin off cuz noone was around to help me remove it :(
