oh and ugggggh. side effects of being sick: i was at my brother's place eating lunch today. and coughed. and my back spasmed. and now i'm walking around with an ice pack shoved down the back of my pants, looking like i've got a bent stick shoved up my ass. and my advil's wearing off.

on the bright side, i got this joe all by myself.

The bright circle is the aurora over the pole - north or south of the earth. I think it's a pretty cool picture!

Sorry your back is messed up. Hope that gets better soon. You're too young to be having such mishaps.

Sat, 02/22/2003 - 6:53 PM Permalink
ares

presumably then that's the aurora spreading out from the pole?

i know i'm too young for this. i'm kinda used to it though. i'm sure that losing some weight would help immensely. a couple years ago, i was with a bunch of people over near hudson playing paintball outside. my brother tells me "come on. we're moving that way." i'm like "no we're not. i'm not going anywhere." "whaddya mean? we're going over there". "no we're not. i can't friggin' move." back spasm. once i finally got up and moving i was ok. but man on the drive back here from over there, by the time the bunch of us went out to eat. i could barely walk from the car to the restaurant.

Sat, 02/22/2003 - 7:03 PM Permalink
Terry

Yup. The aurora is like a ring around the magnetic poles.

Bummer, Ares. Sorry to hear you're messed up. At least back-wise... :D

Speaking o'messed up - not that I am, have ever been, or ever will be... (snicker) - last nite I, the ancient one that I am, learned of two new drinks: A South Dakota Martini, and an Under Tow.

The former is beer with olives in it. The olives float up and down - like the baubles in a Galileo thermometer - and absorb the gas/carbon dioxide. Don't know why one does this, but ittiz fun and the olives give a titch o'saltiness to the beer and absorb some beer and taste ever so wonderful.

An Under Tow is like three or four liquors - vodka being one - and is blue on the bottom, then red, then green on top and is WONDERUFL! Deadly, but wonderful. I could only handle one...

Got a new apron at Sbarro tonite... A GREEN and white striped one!!! I just LOVE it! So much nicer than the plain black ones. I was so tickled about it that the Asst. Mgr's going to get me one just for me here at home! :D Isn't that nice o'her?

Paul, The Lurker, was there tonite but left as I was coming on. He laughed at my xcitement over the green apron - said he knew I'd really like it. I gave him one o'the 2003 Cooler Crew buttons and some o'Ares cards to pass out to fiends and so that he could find us here... He was really appreciative and again said that those that Hunt The Med are some of the nicest people on earth.

We've known that for years, haven't we!!! :D

sounds good chemist. not the work part is work a fore letter word or what.

Sat, 02/22/2003 - 9:08 PM Permalink
green

Oh! Ter!!! I told Paul what you said about him calling me "The Green Lady," and how sometimes when the clue's rite in front o'you you can still be totally clueless and in the dark. He blushed and laughed.

Ittiz funny how once you can see the tree instead o'the forest, things are so obvious. I think he's still kind'a awed that an actual 'Head works with him - and one that's so notorious! LOL!!! He couldn't believe that I told everyone here about him... I think he's really tickled - for want of a better word - about it.

I forget that we're known more than what we think we are. And that we do have a following. Reminds me what ambassadors of The Hunt we are. To me - bet most o'you guys feel this way - we're just us and normal strange obsessive folk. You know, no great shakes. Just us.

But in talking to Paul - and watching his face when he talks to me about The Hunt (he interacts with me totally differently now than before he knew I'm green... Honestly, he was really HONORED to get that button!) - I realize that there are people out there that think the Cooler Crew izz the bee's knees when it comes to hunting, noodling, history and all Hunt stuff. Not that we rank with the likes o'Maureen, Steve, Cathy, and The Four BC Ladies... But... I don't know.

I just know ittiz humbling. And makes me want to 'spread the gospel' o'The Hunt and us even more. There are many that want to hear what we have to say and be a part o'us.

I just think that's so friggin' neat and WAY COOLER!!!

Good Morning!

Ares - How's the back this morning? Are you still listing to port?

Question about sleep number beds...

Several years ago when those were first on the market, a woman I worked with purchased one and ended up returning it as her and her husband didn't like the dividing section between them that they found obnoxious. Is there still a noticeable place between the two sides?

We are in the market one of these days for a new bed so any information you have would be helpful.

Sun, 02/23/2003 - 9:42 AM Permalink
green

Marnin', Mz. Ter!

I hope someday to have a King-sized. Good and hard. Now *that* would be heaven...

Sun, 02/23/2003 - 9:46 AM Permalink
Terry

We have a king-sized bed up north here - and that is really nice. The bedroom in the cities just isn't big enough for a king-sized bed with any room left to walk around it or for any room for a dresser.

Sun, 02/23/2003 - 9:49 AM Permalink
Terry

Or are we talking beds here?

Sun, 02/23/2003 - 9:49 AM Permalink
ares

still listing to port, but i was at least able to get out of bed :) as for the divider between them, that all depends on whether you get a single air chamber or dual air chambers. mornin' green.

joe!

Sun, 02/23/2003 - 9:50 AM Permalink
Terry

That's the deal - why bother with a single air chamber if there's two of you with different preferences?

You know, I've never seen but pictures o'your up 'narth' place... Someday I need to get a sitter, invite myself along, enjoy your hopspatality, the peace and quiet, and cook for you guys.

I imagine I could find *something* to cook that I could have ready prior to having to leave on Sun... HUSH, INKS! LOL!!!

I was talking about beds... Huh?

OH!!!!!!

Well... Ah, yeah... A King-sized, rock-hard one o'them thighys would be HEAVEN, too!!!

Ittiz sumpin' we should plan on. You got a girl up there? The past two summers I've gotten to where I like to get a 2-4 boner standing rib roast from Lem's and do it slow and easy on the girl. I'd prolly have to put up with a bunch o'grief from Inks, the sucker like takes four hours... But, I'm used to ignoring him, so no big deal.

Sun, 02/23/2003 - 10:04 AM Permalink
Terry

We have two grills and a smoker up here.

You'll have to ask Inks about his smoked turkey and his fight for the bird with a couple of raccoons. Funniest thing I heard for quite awhile.

BBIAB...Inks has brunch ready!!
