2003 Redbear Mock Hunt

Submitted by THX 1138 on

Prize: 1 flashlight
Hunt duration: until the snow melts

Clue: only 1 clue!

11 at 10, it started the race
'tween Bear and Marley to the flag place
but along the way,
I'm sad to say,
I dropped my lucky light somewhere in white space.

If you begin at the main entrance, seeing the flag pole,
look for large bear tracks that make big holes.
follow them down, straight as you please,
and look 'till you're en-lightened with great ease.

'bells will be ringing' is a CHRISTMAS CAROL too ;)

March Madness= Spring Break ??

Just Spring is coming - look for a spring in a park or in SpringLakePark?

Near & Far-they are 'different'

how does this turn into --stay in St Paul?

old school- the oldest highschool would probly be Central High School.

Just a castaway
an island lost at sea
another lonely day
no-one here by me
more loneliness
than any man could bear

rescue me before I fall into despair NOTE: these 2 words are used in clue #1)

I'll send an SOS to the world
I'll send an SOS to the world
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
message in a bottle

A year has passed since I wrote my note
but I should have known this right from the start

only hope can keep me together
love can mend your life
but love can break your heart

I'll send an SOS to the world
I'll send an SOS to the world
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
message in a bottle

Walked out this morning
don't believe what I saw
a hundred billion bottles
washed up on the shore
seems I'm not alone in being alone
a hundred billion castaways
looking for a home

I'll send an SOS to the world
I'll send an SOS to the world
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
message in a bottle

Sending out an SOS
sending out an SOS

how about old school- police = federal court bldg-old police bldge=arcoss from Rice park?

also the police station at Highland-
any others around?

I like the Beacon st thing but I don't have my guide out to see where that dick park is located. or just plain Mounds park with the Beacon. and clue 3 being lovers lane area at Mounds that Terry V talked about before. and Marley being DEAD could be the dead people there.

I saw March madness having something to do with Basketball but I can't see how that pertains to this hunt. Unless U of M and Hidden Falls? The Falls being the crying tears. and wedding bells being bridal veil falls

I've been busy working on the murder mystery and my own clues, and so I haven't been able to give this hunt a whole lot of time. Plus I'm working during the day and I have plans every night, so odds are it will be found before I even get a chance to figure out the park, hehe.

My head is spinning!!!!

Me2-I think Dickerson park is over on or near University (close to Iris), but Marley has all the map books so I'm not positive.

Yes its down the street from Iris on university!

And is only a playground out in front of a school! I mean ONLY a small playground!Anybodys back yard is bigger!
I would hope nobody would ever put it there! (peace park is bigger)

take a trip down the walking path, you'll be in hunt territory
start north and not west, and you'll find the way
but if you go far you've been led astray

Hiyall!!

Just popped in here this morning and got caught up in these clues. They don't make *any* sense to me at all! I like the idea about the Police songs though :) - maybe we are to look near a police sub station?

Just for all who were thinking Mounds and wondering about the school.....Mounds Park Elementary was on Pacific and Cypress or so. The building is still there, still says Mounds Park Elementary on top (I think) but it has been converted to apartments. Just south on Cypress, if that's the correct street, is the *little* Mounds playground....there are some swings and a slide or two, maybe a bb court.

Hope this helps! Catch y'all later....

Thanks Mom! That was the building I was thinking of.

Only other thing I found-did a google search, and the only site that came up with all 3 words in the first line was a list of record labels.

(HSA) HOSANNA, \09(ABG) ABYSSAL GIANTISM, (EAT) EVER RAT

77 Souch...

I think the hosanna stands by itself, the rat thing we have to do something with

If you anagram the two words you get a bunch of different kinda tits

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and so is the size of a rat.

A horrified worker at the Morgan County Archives notified Archivist Susan Bzdell that he had seen a big rat, a "great big rat," in the basement of the archives. The worker told Susan that the rat was between 10 and 18 inches long.

The archivist called a pest control company, which placed rat killer in the basement. Two days later, Susan found a dead rat on the sidewalk outside.

"He was a little fellow," she said.

Well, I keep coming up with themes in these clues- like SPRING and RING

I took Giantism and Rat and got Big and Kangaroo which got me Big Daddy Kangaroo Song - the words are Springing hopping & ringing.

Artist Adam Sandler
Album Big Daddy Soundtrack
Song The Kangaroo Song

I'm a singing kangaroo and I come from far away.
I like to hop, hop, hop all day.
Would you like to come and play?
We'll hop, hop, hop, hop,
What do you say?

I go hop, hop 'cause I'm a kangaroo,
So get in my pouch and I'll hop with you.
I go hop, hop while I sing my song,
Hop, hop, hop, hop, hopping along.

I've got big feet that I use like a spring,
That's why hop, hop, hop is my thing.
I like to hop and I like to sing,
Hop, hop, hop, hop, ring-a-ding-ding!

Come on, kids, sing along with the kangaroo!

I like to hop and I like to sing,
Hop, hop, hop, hop, ring-a-ding-ding!
Hop, hop, hop, hop, ring-a-ding-ding!
Hop, hop, hop, hop, ring-a-ding-ding!

I also seem to come up with themes in songs-

Police
Adam SANDler
Old School
Christmas Carol or Bob Marley
bells will be ringing-church
Bridal Veil Falls
Path

rrrrr- gonna try to start fresh here-

Cold beer, MNF, the look in her eye,
That thirty years later still makes you cry.
It’s the latter for which this bear is hunting,
Because sometimes love really means nothing.

Clue #1
to begin with. Marley was dead: that clever rapscallion
it was he, not the bear, who found kilty's medallion
Spriung is sprunging, wedding bells will be ringing
and March Madness is soon near.
But don't despair - here's some help from the Bear:
if you read this, you've gone too far.

Clue 2
a year has passed since I wrote this note
but I should have known it right from the start.
Recent No Doubt
Gives serious clout
but for The hunt, think Old School.

Clue #3
The meaning of life, now that’s a search
It’s the small details that’ll give you a lurch
Cold beer, MNF, the look in her eye,
That thirty years later still makes you cry.
It’s the latter for which this bear is hunting,
Because sometimes love really means nothing.

Clue #4
Hosanna! rat giantism
