Well I sent out the notice today to the 145 members of my Yahoo Group. Of course a bigger prize would get more people out and actually hunting. If there was some way I could think of to make money off the hunt, I'd be happy to offer a bigger prize myself. But since I can't even participate in the hunt, there's really no chance of getting my money back. Hmmmm, maybe if there was something I could make and sell and then all the proceeds would go to the prize.

Actually, I kind of got the impression that was the conceptual idea behind people donating money to the pot. In a sense, the money you throw in is a bet that you believe you're the one who's going to win and thus get your money back. But the mood this year is very different from last year, so I'm not expecting the same level of contributions.

Hmmm, what if I were to say that everyone who contributes $20 or more gets something, but what? Maybe a commemorative journal of the hunt with the clues, explanations, and cluewriter's notes (to be given after the hunt of course)? Maybe a special party? Invitation to a murder mystery? An extra clue?
