My favorite drive-in memory was during a terrible set of movies at the Cottage-View drive-in about 10 years ago. That night had the most awesome northern lights I've ever seen. Almost all the movie goers were out on their hoods and roofs just talking back and forth about the sky other than the movie. It was an awesome show but I can't remember what was actually playing on the screen.
Mine was in Detroit Lakes...or Bemiji...I don't recall I was very drunk....
But I recall the fact that we had 3 pickups....3 couchs and about 10 guys....
It started to rain....and nobody was left in the lot....so the owner came out and gave us all his popcorn, Two 5 gal. buckets full of beer (I think it was a pickle pails), and told us to lock the gate on the way out.
My favorite is when we saw Austin Powers 2 at the Vali-Hi. We took our girls when they were about 2 weeks old and met a group of friends. Once the movie started the babies started fussing in their car seats so my wife and I each held one. 1/2 an hour into the movie I was the only one in the car still awake.
The Cottage View or whatever it's called is still in operation in Cottage Grove. The Corral was on the corner of Mendota Road and Robert St. in WSP. It's now a strip mall. *sigh* We used to sit on the golf course and watch the movies.
Lafayette Road drive-in, remember that one, Ian?? Man, talk about memories!
Took the kids to the drive in a month ago- saw Finding Nemo and Legally Blond 2- kids put their pillows and blankets on top of the Durango :)
I think it was at Vali-Hi ?? IGH ?? south on 61 past AW's place.
FIRST MOVIE I recall seeing at the drive-in was CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE 3RD KIND! Slumber party with a couple girlfriends.
Hey look at that---you can actually read my posts-it's not too dark! :)
I forgot about this thread! We saw Matrix: Reloaded and X-men 2 as a double feature this spring at the Vali-Hi, which is out on 94 and Manning Road.
oh than I didnt go to Vali-Hi
they all seam to have "hi" on the end of them!
I would think those 2 movies you just went to would be good on the big screan- havnt sean either one of them.
They were really fun to see at the drive-in.
not many left, and I think the Cottage Grove one will be gone soon.

West Lake Drive-In, Indianapolis
Hottest chick I've ever met, while camping in a state park. Ends up she lived only a few miles from me. This is the Summer of '69
Although it was a sporty little car, I didn't want to drove my '64 Falcon. I borrowed my dad's '65 Mustang, 289 four speed, bucket seats ...
Bad idea
Shoulda taken the Falcon. They had bench seats. I used to have a 64 Falcon also.
So the 100 TWIN became Medtronic, 65 Hi became condos, appartments, Hilltop became K-Mart, then became senior housing.
How many are left?
64 Falcon Joe, for Frosti and Ian

Vali-Hi is still out on the way to Stillwater. Just off Manning Road.
