Oh yeah... hey... and by the way.... dont anyone be too pissed about the metal detector....it coulda been worse.... there could have been a.....(DUN DUN DUN!!!!!!) LEAF BLOWER!!!!
Leaf blower? That definatley would not have helped.
FYI- this week I saw a man using a leaf blower to clear his sidewalk of snow near Highland Park!
I had no problem with the medal detector after I was told forsure he would not find it with it. But if he told someone he was not gonna use it and it was a deep conversation of concern between them and trust was of high issue than that did hurt Jakes trustworthy and integridy (mostly between the people that had that conversation).
This hunt became a reality show - It was definately a GAME ;) I am thinking I may just video tape the next one - geesh-not to copy the PP and trent but I think it would be hilarious to look back on.
ME2 I WAS THINKING OF DOING THE SAME THING I THOUGHT OF IT THIS MORNING. MAYBE WE CAN BOTH DO IT AND THEN WE CAN PUT THEM TOGETHER AND MAKE A REALLY GOOD ONE. JUST A THOUGHT, IF YOU WANT BECAUSE I CAN'T HUNT FOR MY OWN. MINE STARTS MARCH 28TH AT 6PM THIS IS TIME FOR EVERYONE TO REST AND RELAX FROM AW'S HUNT, I KNOW I NEED IT! I WAS GOING TO TAPE SOME PEOPLE AT THERE HOME ON THE COMPUTER AND AT THE PARK JUST TO SHOW HOW OTHER HUNTERS HUNT. MAYBE YOU CAN GET SOMEONE HERE AT THE CC AND I'LL GET SOMEONE AT THE PP AND THEN WE CAN PUT THEM TOGETHER TO MAKE ONE JUST ANOTHER WAY TO BRING BOTH GROUPS TOGETHER. THAT IS THE REASON FOR MY HUNT IS TO BRING THE TWO GROUPS TOGETHER AS FREINDS A LIL MORE.
marley should be posting all my rules and everything soon. he is helping me get it started here i all ready posted them at the pp site i'm not very good at starting a post or here so thats why marley is helping me he's been great at helping when i need it and i think that is very cool of him to help, that i think is what all hunters should do to each other. marley you the mon!!!!!!!!!!!
OH YEAH AW ONE OF MY PRIZES IS A FREE DJ SHOW SO YOU WANT IT HERE IT IS. I TOLD YOU I WAS GOING TO PUT UP ONE MORE FO MY HUNT! GOOD LUCK I KNOW SOME OTHER PEOPLE ARE REALLY GOING TO TRY AND FIND IT TO BECAUSE THEY WANT TO THROUGH A BIG PARTY.
No! Sorry bout that! You are definately not as old as my mom! (I'm only nine years younger than you!) I just think of her anytime I see or hear that line, it was her answer for everything!
Haha! Thats a good one! That line makes me laugh every time I hear it! The first time I heard it it was said by Billy Bob Thorton during the filming of "A Simple Plan". They were shooting a bar scene over and over and he started improvising the last lines and thats what he ended up saying, the whole bar exploded in laughter.
Well, funny thing about taping the hunts was I thought of it the same year that Trent came to video tape-I originally wanted to write a book-then saw how many people wrote books on hunting-there are a couple out there already.
I din't want to look like I was copying the idea-but the last 3 -4 hunts have involved so much devious, determination and deep feelings that I would love to have it on tape! Like I said-A St Paul REALITY SHOW.
David, I am not sure about this weekend. I want to come, but I don't want to even think of this past week! Kids are headed to the lake tomorrow! YEAH! and won't be back til Sunday night! So I am not sure that Mark wants to come and listen to us talk 'hunting'. But I will let you know- and I just may bring my sisters video camera- I could buy one and write it off on taxes due to a new job---hehehe- making a channel 6 local tv movie :) I do think the Mock Hunts are more 'personal' than the regular PP hunt and would turn up some good interest here in the city- Lilman - if your at Davids and I am too we can talk about it- bring your video camera too :)
I am gonna post our "DIARIES" after I get the ok from KIDS and Ares.
Well I did put some more time into these clues. Last year I think I had two weeks or less to do the whole thing. This year, I knew months ago where I was going to put it (well, that part of the park anyway) and started writing clues in November.
And I hope you can make it to the bonfire. There may be other non-hunters there and I don't think everything is necessarily going to revolve around hunting in this case. There should be plenty of other things to keep Mark amused.
I posted this in Marleys thread -but this story should really be here... a memory I hope never to forget. It was so sureal and feels like a dream-it felt so right I don't know why we didn't stay there- it just felt too easy right there.
My 6 1/2 yr old was actually bumbed when I told her where the coin was hidden at Battle Creek. She actually checked that end of the log too - at that point she had checked one end while I checked the other.
When we first got to BC, we parked at the school -we walked down the steps and mud path and I said "we are looking for a school" she pointed at the school..."we are looking for a trail" she pointed to the trail. "we are looking for water" she pointed at the water "we are looking for a bridge" she says "theres the bridge" all excited! now we are looking in every log we can find...(so technically we should have had it on the 16th in the afternoon)---she was an awesome searcher- That was the very first area we checked in the park together so she probly just wasnt looking as thouroughly-until she got more into it! (yeah I know, blame the child :))
I think she is interested in the next hunt- we will see. I was hoping she would find this one cause my oldest got to find the Linwood treasure (I found it then rehid it and lead her to the spot it was at -so she thinks she found it) :)
Until you have kids you would understand the pleasure of her excitement -watching her hunt--
Allison - We'll be there on Saturday evening - barring anything unforeseen with my Mom. I'll dream up something good to bring for eats. The first fire of the year!!!!!
Hmmm, you know what, I don't know if I ever have everyone's email. At this point, I doubt anyone is reading this thread that isn't an avid hunter so I'll just post it and maybe THX or someone can still delete it after the party.
Take 94 or 494 to 61 south. Take that down to Cottage Grove and get off at Jamaica which is the 2nd Cottage grove exit. At the offramp, turn right and take Jamaica to the end. Then turn right again onto 100th St. From there, take the first (and only) left turn onto Ideal Ave. Look for the pedestrian crossing signs as it can be hard to spot if you come at night. Take Ideal to the end and then turn right onto 113th St. It will be the first mailbox on the right with the three red and one blue reflectors. Park on the street or off to the side of the driveway. The firepit is along the pathway leading back. Bring any food/drinks/snacks you want. We should have enough chairs and wood. If anyone wants to come earlier, say as early as 3pm, to help get things organized and such, that would be appreciated too.
that's nothing they havn't seen before, we drink sociably at the camper all summer and since we will be out in cottage grove one of us probably won't drink cuz someone has to drive.
What is everyone bringing on Saturday night? I've got a dessert recipe I got from my one sister that I might make and we were thinking either barbecued smokies or homemade chex mix. Will there be electric?
I'm having a treasure hunt on my show right now?
AW, I'll probably be there.
funny Kids! I actually got that joke :)
<peek>

So are you coming Saturday Ms. Me2? You can start your taping then ;-)

Wow am I that old?

David, I want you to know that I really enjoyed these clues-
This was your best thoughts yet put into clues. Much better than Linwood & Phalen! :)

well, i certainly recall dal's excitement when she found the scratched cd i'd "hidden" at phalen last year :)
Geeesh- enjoying a Fuzzy Navel and watching Little House on the Praire...Mary just hid her glasses in a BIG LOG!!!!!
you know how many 'log' jokes we could make NOW?
go for it, j.
I don't wanna do it-you do it! hey lets get Marley, he'll do it, he'll do anything!
except use a medal detector lol :)
hey lets get Marley, he'll do it, he'll do anything!
he likes it! he likes it!
Allison - We'll be there on Saturday evening - barring anything unforeseen with my Mom. I'll dream up something good to bring for eats. The first fire of the year!!!!!

We'll need directions too, just in case. You should have one of our e-mail addys.
Can you e-mail me the directions too please -just incase we can come.
Hmmm, you know what, I don't know if I ever have everyone's email. At this point, I doubt anyone is reading this thread that isn't an avid hunter so I'll just post it and maybe THX or someone can still delete it after the party.

what about kids? I just realized we have gordy's kids this weekend.
Hmmm, I guess I can't see a reason offhand not to bring them except for that people may be drinking and such.
I think I speak for every single man here, Bring back the daisy duke picture!
Hurrah for our armed forces.
a-hem. that's mym&m you're talking to that way, redbear. she can use whatever picture she wants :)
that's nothing they havn't seen before, we drink sociably at the camper all summer and since we will be out in cottage grove one of us probably won't drink cuz someone has to drive.
yeah, ll, but what about what goes on after the drinking (such as the, uh, entertainment with broken chair legs at mcg's ;) ?
ha ha ! very funny! we will try not to break any chairs this time :)
You don't have the horseshoe driveway any more AW?
I guess not. Just a straightline one and a front yard. Are you sure this isn't going to be too much of a shock for you? ;-)
What is everyone bringing on Saturday night? I've got a dessert recipe I got from my one sister that I might make and we were thinking either barbecued smokies or homemade chex mix. Will there be electric?
There's plenty of electric inside. Not much outside. But we can put food inside too. I vote for bbq weinies!
Then I guess that's what we'll bring!
Allison - It really is nice to have us all over there. Thanks!
As CM knows, this place was made for parties.
AW we are going to have to talk on sat. me and my brother have this great idea for a new kind of hunt that we are starting to put together.
Allison and I will show you all how we party down in 'the grove'!
first mailbox on the right with the three red and one blue reflectors
Did you put those there CM?
(such as the, uh, entertainment with broken chair legs at mcg's ;) ?
Um...BROKEN CHAIRS? like as in the broken chair at my sister house that she has to pay to get fixed?
and which broken chair would that be?
