It's so wierd finally meeting people that you have been talking to for so long, You kind of get this picture in your head of what you think they look like and when you finally see them they look nothing like you thought!

DD, I have talked low key about putting together some kinda book for 3 years---I even have a title somewhere in the 2001 PP Cooler. Think I will start thinking about doing it again :)

me2, I really think you should pursue your book idea. With how the cooler crew is receiving attention all across the 50 states during the PP hunt, the sky is the limit as to what people will be buying in the future to learn more about the actual "hunters" that partake in this event every year. Not to mention all of us on the list that would support it, if even for the sake of reading what you write about us. haha I think it would definitely make for a good coffe table piece or bedtime reading. Be sure to start out with a beverage warning! Although... if they ruin the book badly enough, they would be forced to buy a new one... hum??

Go for it girl!

Maybe you could do a media guide kind of a thing...profiles on all the characters.

I talked to my husband over a week ago about writing a book about the history/events of and in St Paul parks---I told him I was feeling selfish. That I didn't want to tell everyone all the secrets and stories that could give away a possible history clue. :)
but still thinking of that too :)

I recall AW thinking on writing something too but I am sorry AW, I can't remember if it had to do with the hunt or not. or was this a secret? sorry.

Timmers, have you shared your and Scribe's idea for a book?

I had talked about writing up a little book for the Mock Hunt as a possible gift for those who donated to it, but nothing came of that. I'm also working on a fantasy novel (as in a Lord of the Rings type of thing) but that's not a secret or related to the hunt.

you write that book, j, and i'll be the first one in line to get a personally autographed and numbered (preferable #1) copy of it.

Make you stand in line in the freezing cold at the PP just to get the first clue to where the book signing is at :)

I just looked at my phone bill for January-February. The billing period started on the 21st of January. By the 29th, I was already over my minutes. My bill came out to $131 for just that one month. And I should be getting the bill for the Mock Hunt period in a few days here.

I'd say it does. Where did that come from? I'll have to send it to my roommate.

Alright, just a warning to everyone, I'm reviving this thread for the new hunt. There are too many loose threads already so I'm going to recycle.

Well since the hunters all came, let's begin one more game,
You should stick to St. Paul's parks to make this hunt shorter.
And if it should be your aim to be in the gallery of fame,
You need to locate the region using a scent and a quarter.

there is a washington school on rice street, the one that was in "That was then this is now".

Sun, 11/02/2003 - 9:33 AM Permalink
Liquor Lady

he uses "scent" like a smell, rice/arlington field has mcdonalds across the street and "quarter" could be police quarters maybe?

Sun, 11/02/2003 - 10:04 AM Permalink
Terry

Or what does a quarter buy these days? The St. Paul daily paper for one.

Or if it's page 25, that would be Dunning Field.

I was thinking perhaps region would mean it's a regional park. I know that Indian Mounds and Battle Creek are both regional parks.

Sun, 11/02/2003 - 10:09 AM Permalink
Liquor Lady

and phalen too, but what are the chances he would hide it there again ;)

Sun, 11/02/2003 - 10:12 AM Permalink

That's right...and he's already used Battle Creek.

You can use a quarter for a parking meter, so could be downtown.

"cedar" st for a "scent" Kellogg?

I mentioned it elsewhere, but I should say it here too that some hints in the clues will actually require a Guide and for others, the Guide won't help you at all. As for what you're looking for, it's an improvised coin, or basically a small, disc shaped object with the contact information inside.

So is anyone going out looking today? hehe

If you are, it seems my phone battery died overnight (must have been roaming). I'm recharging it now if anyone is trying to reach me.
