Babe Ruth does fit,,

Hank Aaron hold the HR record and he is right around 754. so forget the 954.

I think Brock has a good idea but I don't agree with the home-run thing. Your reaching! Has anyone been out at BC? I still don't buy it.

PIE - we went through the Babe Ruth HR thing already. The # was 714, beaten only, I believe, by Hank Aaron

LCBREWCREW

Hey PIE, is there any way to check somewhere to see exactly how many Babe Ruth hit???

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 1:05 AM Permalink

I'm heading out to B.C. I'll check back later.

could a man of fame be a definition of something?

FOOLED YA

forget that! Now that I think about it he seemed like he was in a daze!

Superstar- I've been to BC, and believe me, it fits pretty well. 9,4 and 5 don't really work that well, except as the freeways boxing in that area. But the downhill, hockey rink, school, and Ruth Rd and Longfellow Rd work pretty well. There's lots of other arguements for it as well if you go back and look through the previous messages this past hour or so

How is the medallion usually buried?? And what is the best way to look for it ??

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 1:08 AM Permalink
Superstar

Nobody in their goddamn life hit 954 homeruns!! Ruth had 714 but he was passed by hank aaron who ended up with 750 or so. Let's drop the baseball history.

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 1:09 AM Permalink
Duff

BC fits real well, the only thing I can think of is for the 9, 5, 4

is that the medallion was there in 95 and that was 4 yrs ago.

Beleive me no-one has ever hit over 800 home runs

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 1:10 AM Permalink
Amy Trandahl

Brock, the medallion is usually buried in the snow and the best way to look for it is to dig and dig and dig and dig and..............

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 1:10 AM Permalink
MedallionStallion

Brock, the medalion is hidden in something different every year, and it is usually in some random place, deep under snow. The clues lead you to the right park, and the right area of the park. But after that it's really just lucky digging. I believe history teaches us that. Anyone disagree?

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 1:11 AM Permalink
magbru

it is usually buried in the snow. sometimes even recessed into the ground shovels and rake or hoe

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 1:11 AM Permalink
Duff

You have to dig and break every little thing apart and if you find anything but snow tear it open. Use a shovel, rake, Hoe or anything else handy

medallionstallion-the 954 is referring to 4yrs. ago when it was found at BC which was 95. Who do you think the famous man is?

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 1:11 AM Permalink
MedallionStallion

Duff, you're right on the 954 thing for BC. See you'all later!

They wouln't ever hide it in a tree, would they? We were out digging last night and I noticed something odd tied to a tree branch up above.

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 1:12 AM Permalink
Brock Landers

Accorrding the clues, does it give any relation to where in the parks to look? All the parks are pretty big. All have them have been dug up to dirt as well.

does anyone know when they actually hide the medallion-- right before?--a week?--a month??

The police are kicking people out of Como Park, they say they are enforcing the closing time as 10:00 pm, just thought you fellow med hunters would like to know

Of course it can also be found under a trash can - in a squirrel hole in a tree, etc., etc., but those places are usually searched first : )

Superstar, check the last hour of messages for the famous man. It's Ruth, Longfellow, or Hudson all near BC

Good luck everyone,

I am still leaning toward BC, I'll be out there tomorrow. I am warning you all, it is a very large park with lots of open space so be patient. Hope to see you, I'll probably have some Viking attire on.

I have scoped it a few times, it is very open and big, I'll be out there all weekend until it is found, I'm sure I'll be on tomorrow night as well. what is your email address?

Someone tell me what you think of this theory: ok we've got to be iconoclasts right? That means we shouldn't think like we have in the past. Maybe the clue writer is using all these methods of the past (for ex. New+well, and spelling out words w/ the first letter of clues, and other word games), to throw us off track. Maybe he's throwing in many different word games leading to many different parks. Maybe we should change our way of thinking. Anybody have any ideas?
