That was a great game! I just hope they can keep it going for tonights game! They just need to stay out of the penalty box, I hope roli is feeling ok for tonight, looked like he had a hard time gettin' up once last night. GO WILD!
Of course the game was on TV last night here and of course I had softball games last night. Missed the game. I only got 4 hours of sleep, and now the game is on tonight at 9 PM. I am going to be really tired tomorrow.
Gotta admit I was doubting a favorable outcome after we were down 2 to zip. I should have known better.
It made it even sweeter that we iced the game after that thug Bertuzzi took a stupid penalty that IMO put the game out of reach for the knuckleheads. Nice going and thanks Todddd :)
It was good to see Darby get the go ahead, nice pass by Park too. They aren't the most gracefull or talented team ever but man do they scrap and fight. Brunette behind the nets was awesome last night working the boards.
I agree it was shitty ref'ing last night. That's probably why Toddd figured he could get away with another cheap shot. I hope Rollie is o.k.
I'm hoping there isn't a big let down, to make it this far for a 3rd year franchise is unheard of. Either way they have made amazing progress and it's been a great season. Many teams rarely make it this far. I hope the boys have some gas left in the tank. Can we please win a few at home and maybe not go down 3-1 in this one ? It's fun to wathc that's for sure. Go Wild !
Sorry to hear of all your troubles as of late. I thougt I was having a bad week until I read your posts. That sucks. I hope they catch the SOB's. Sorry to hear about the storms too, yikes. Chin up.
Well it appears our lads in green have hit a wall :( The wall's name is Guigerre (sp) Any other goalie I think and it might be a bit brighter future for the Wild in this run. Well I won't count them out but it looks grim. Either way what an improbable run. I figured it would be years before we were seeing a local team play pro hockey well into May :)
Well it was a "Wild' ride anyway. And the fun part is that it went on for way longer than most people anticipated. God job boys, you did a great job of getting those bandwagon jumpers to turn into real fans. This was definitely a pivotal year for The State Of Hockey!
Who knows, maybe we'll still be watching our boys playing games in June of next year.
Well it was indeed a WILDride and you all have nothing to be ashamed of. The Wild did great and next season should (hopefully) fare better for them.
In the meantime.....
The baby Wild aka Houston Aeros are having a terrific run over in the AHL's (American Hockey League - the Top Minor Pro Afffiliated League to the NHL) Calder Cup Playoffs. You all can track their progress HERE.
It was a great year no doubt ! An amazing feat for such a young club of nameless guys. I think Anaheim will win it all, they play the same defensive type of hockey we do. Some call it boring and I say there's nothing boring about being deep in the playoffs after the high powered offensive teams go. They had the advantage of having a brick wall in nets named Guigere. 99% of other goalies and I think it would have been a different story perhaps. He made some awesome saves. Our goalies have nothing to be ashamed of though. I do feel a bit of bitterness losing to a Disney team. A team that ranked horridly in attendance all year in an area where many don't know the difference between the red and the blue line. But the "duckies" players deserve alot of credit and I think they're the ones to beat. Thanks for a great year Wild !
The Houston Aeros (aka "Baby Wild") win their very first Calder Cup (the AHL version of the Stanley Cup), 3-0.
Houston, who won the Western Conference won the series against league leading and Eastern Conference winner, Hamilton Bulldogs 4-3 in a grueling 7 game series.
Aeros netminder Johan Holmqvist wins the tournament MVP.
Congrats to the Baby Wild (Houston Aeros) on a well-deserved win!
Not a bad draft! They drafted like the Vikings. Reached in the first round, and drafted guys who shouldn't have been on the board in the later rounds. I really like the O'Sullivan kid. He's got star potential. = )
Yeah, but he also brings some personal baggage with him too. In my "mock draft" prior to this past weekend, I had O'Sullivan going to the Wild. There aren't many better "mentors" in the NHL than Jacques Lemaire IMO, and O'Sullivan would be able to (hopefully) grow and gain more & more confidence under Lemaire's guidance, when he (O'Sullivan) is ready to take the next step.
Well send a copy to Wolvie then!
No way to capture and render
Kinda hard to watch it if you already know who won. Thanks anyway!
Kinda hard to watch it if you already know who won. Thanks anyway!
Yeah, that's how I usually feel.
Too bad you couldn't catch it, it was fun as heck to watch.
Right now they're leading 4 - 1 in the 3rd.
Woooooooo Hoooooooo!!! Wild Kick Ass Once Again!!! 5-1Roloson was on fire.
On to game 7!!

where do they find these f'n refs!!!!! JEEEZ!
4-2 Final!! I think it's also the first time that Vancouver has lost 3 games in a row all season!
WAY TO GO WILD!!!!
Quack F-in Quack....
IN YOUR FACE!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
Congrats to the Wild. Good luck against the Ducks.
Frosti:Left you a post on the Wild board at my forum, check it out. *LOL*
Come on guys, lets avenge last years Twins!
#6 & #7 seeded teams in the Western Conference Finals? Who would of thunk it?
GO WILD!!!!
ok, m2k3, now that's a tagline!
heehee!
where do they find these f'n refs!!...
No kidding!
I'd have been ticked, had the Wild lost.
Hooooo Haaaah !

Thanks L2F.
WAY TO GO WILD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope the game Saturday is on the TV here.
ok, m2k3, now that's a tagline!
glad I could help, I feel honored, some infamous phrases have graced your tagline. (Sun don't shine, thongs, etc.)
usually my taglines come from little incidents where me2 has stuck her foot in her mouth. :)
Vengance on all things Disney!
"You have to do this, Wild, for Minnesota . . . for America."
Should I be worried that through 2nd intermission of game 2, I have as many goals as the Wild in 6+ periods of hockey? C'mon boys, knock a couple in
....make that 7 + periods.
AHHHHHHHH!!!!!
I think they play better on the road. (at least that is what I am hoping for!)
well, not tonight I'm afraid :(

Well they played well but the magic is over. A great season. Hopefully we can build as a team off this. I look forward to it.

Great run Wild! Looking forward to next year!

Your 2003 Minnesota Wild Draft Selections
....and you all will be happy to know that Danny Irmen, who was taken 78th Overall (and an incoming NCAA freshman) will be in a Gophers uni this fall!

He's a kid, I think the baggage rumor is overhyped. He'll grow out of that.

Free beer for Lighting Season ticket holders.....
How come the wild doesn't do this....
I'd be on the waiting list in two secs. if they did!!!!
It's a ploy by a team desperate for fans. The Wild don't have that issue.
I know Frosti...but a guy can dream right?
Dare to dream, buddy.
Isn't there a moving on DVD coming out next tues about DREAMS?
oh forget it...A movie about HOCKEY on tues coming out??
