Sorry to hear about the crime spree this weekend. I got up this mornin and had to kick my lazy B-Hind out the door. I made it to Phalen and decided to go around once, the pain the pain still it was a fun way to wake up.

The fireworks looked great downtown, I was thinking the same thing CM, but they just kept coming, didn't realize it would be 1/2 long, but I'm sure nobody minded. Last time I was down @ harriet was.......well maybe we shouldn't go down that road.

It was fun last night, but they better get that parking figured out by the time the Taste rolls around, could they have cut off a few more streets please?

By the way, what is Mellaluca, my friends and I couldn't figure out what is was, although one suggested it sounded like some kind of infectious disease. Maybe someone can shed some light (or antibiotic) on this

I thought it was an insurance company, but I'm really not sure.

I went down there last year and had a good time, but this year I was coming back from a camping trip and just didn't want to deal with the parking and the traffic which I suspected would be horrendous again. Last year it took at least an hour to get out of the parking lot after the show and I think it was actually close to two hours altogether to get home. I really don't know why they think Harriet Island is a better place for large crowds than the Capitol. My guess is they'll have it there one year and go back to where it was. Although I did hear something about the food booths being set up on the Wabasha bridge. Did anyone else hear that?

I have a question for Liquor Lady that goes to her area of expertise...

I was thinking of buying my friend in West Virginia some of her favorite wine for her birthday. But I'm not sure what might be the best way to do that. Should I buy it here and ship it? Can I order it from somewhere down there and have it delivered? Should I order it over the internet and have it shipped there? Or should I just say screw the surprise and send her some money to go buy her own wine?

Tue, 05/27/2003 - 6:10 PM Permalink
Liquor Lady

I'm not sure what the laws are on shipping wine, and you would also have to worry about the bottle breaking in the process. you might want to try the internet but I would say it would be easiest to just send her the cash, unless maybe you could find a liquor store near her and see if you can pay for a gift certificate and have it mailed to her.

Mellaluca is a company based in Twin Falls, Idaho that sells cosmetic and cleaning products much like Watkins. One signs on to be a distributor and also agrees to purchase a certain amount of product each month. I was actually a distributor for a year and my advice to you is, "Don't sign up!". I never sold any and ended up with alot of product that I neither wanted or needed. I felt like I was in a cult. Everything that they make contains oil from the mellaluca plant and smells horrible!

Hope that clears it up for you. And they do put on a good fire works show.

Clue Master

Maybe they should try selling fireworks instead? ;-)

Thanks for clearing that up OT

Well, I am not exactly a FAN of Mellaluca but know about it. I don't care for the smell either OT, but my girlfriend, mom and aunt LOVE IT! My friend uses all the cleaning products in her home. I actually like the straight ointment oil for owies---and cold sores! but I won't use the soap or house cleaning stuff. FYI for the guys: Mark does NOT like it.

I thought it originated or the plant is from Australia.

Actually this is funny what this can turn into cause it makes me think of some movie that made my kids think WNDEX can fix, clean or heal everything. But they really know 'mom is always right'...I can hear my kids when I am dead say "you gotta cut? you gotta burn? you gotta rash? you got a broken arm? get the Desatin" :) Desatin heals everything!

no, we have been waiting for a while for this one, we just figured they weren't going to charge him. they had to do their "investigation" first, I'm sure it was sitting on someones desk this whole time. he will probably get away with it anyway since he's already in totem town :(

by the way, totem town is not very secure, I guess kids run from there all the time so you can bet as soon as he get's his chance he'll be gone!

I usually don't do this but I feel compelled to pass along a recommendation to all you Zeppelin fans out there. After more than 23 years, these guys finally decided to release some unreleased live stuff. It's unbelievable 'lost' footage. These guys were the definition of the word 'Supergroup". Every one of them were extremely talented. It's a two disc DVD collection or 3 disc audio CD that has impeccable editing. You won't be disappointed. Unfortunately Robert, John Paul & Jimmy won't be making a reunion tour anytime soon. If they would, I know they could fetch top dollar. Next to Pink Floyd (w/Roger Waters), I can't think of another band that would make more of an impact in todays music scene. Please give it a try. The DVD is 16.99 for this week only then it's $25.00. Damn, I missed these guys!
I can't seem to find those adorable Zeppelin Kitties any longer. Please post a link if you find someone who saved that Immigrant Song kittie animation. Thanks

Is that like the "rides bike down hill, loses control, hits curb, smacks nuts on bar, cries like little girl" moves?

Because I'm familiar with that one.

I spent about 3 hours tearing my bike apart tonight. I repacked the bearings and trued the back wheel (not well, though). We're planning a 70 mile training ride tommorow. Only one week until the MS150!

PS, if you wanna sponsor me, go here. Message or e-mail me for my name...

Beans was in a Karate tournament on Sunday morning down at the Raddison hotel - she didnt place but she got a medal. Very Cool!

Sarah played her clarinet in Grand Old Days (2 years in a row) for Randolph Heights. LETS GO BAND! -she says she is NEVER playing that song again. and her body hurt after the long walk--GOOD! She says next year she is taking up DRUMS!!!!!! uuuuh, my ears hurt already!

I liked the parade for once. The Vulcans got me! got black & silver beads. Footlong corn dogs, lemonade, yo-yo balloons.
