The weird thing is, I know the guy. And he's always seemed alright. But about a year ago his wife left him. She came back a few months ago, but only stuck around for a few weeks and when she left she took their kids. Maybe it's effected him.

Um Frosti, I need a ride to go garage saling. Can you come get me....pleeeeeeeaze? ;)

ClueM - make your own American Flag- fabric from JoAnn Fabrics :)
I bought mine from a garage sale- only 48 stars-hand sewn. I refuse to buy a flag that is printed. I am contimplating sewing my own Minnesota flag. It's on the lifelong list of things to accomplish in my life. I would rather purchase an original.

To Everyone: I have been on the search for over 3 years for an original sewn (or older than 50 years)Minnesota Flag. If you have one or ever come across one please think of me and buy it and I will reimburse you the cost plus dinner. I PROMISE! and I promise I won't send you out with Jake and make him pay for your dinner to replace the dinner he owes me ;)

A NEW HUNT.... MINNESOTA FLAG HUNT
Prize: Dinner with the two J's
(hehehe maybe you will be going out to dinner with the 2 Jason's)

All of a sudden, a woman walks in my front door. She says one of my neighbors pulled a gun on her....

That wouldn't of been the only gun that was pulled on her for the day if she walked in this front door.

I gotta move...

Is this normal for where you live? East Side maybe? ESD comments?

only 48 stars-hand sewn

WOW! Awesome. I've always wanted one of those boys. Cooler. Keep an eye out for me as well.

They walk in my door and my ROTT will take her leg off!
Now, I actually look forward to the day someone walks in or breaks in-I don't wanna be gone I wanna see it!

no. not dinner. flags. find an original and sew your own. i don't normally have people walking in my door, and i'm probably 8-10 blocks away from frosti. then again, i make a habit of locking the door too. oh, and j, how many times have i walked in right past your rott? i think she's just a big softie ;)

CM- my sister and I actually faught over it- we saw it at the same time- so we talked about taking turns with it. I got it before 911. I was Patriotic then. Now that everyone jumped on that bandwagon I am not as inthused so to speak. I feel like I was one of the original lovers of my country. I paid $20 -it was 1/2 off day at an estate sale. Ofcourse now they woulda gotten the $40 after 911. I brought it to the state capitol for the 911 memorial -Oct. 2001.

That because your a big softie and she knows it.

break in and you better have a steak or a gun!
most robbers are just that-robbers. They are usually not in it to harm anyone so they don't carry a gun. At least that is what I have heard. So, anyone know differently?...by experience? are you a robber? we want to know :)

they probably would have gotten a lot more for it than just 40 bucks.

Burglars are just there to steal, sneaking quietly in the night. A robber is someone who actually confronts you personally to take your stuff and they usually do have a weapon of some sort

Is this normal for where you live? East Side maybe? ESD comments?

Yup, east side. But this isn't normal for where I live. Sure the neighborhood's a little seedy, but this is the first really weird thing that's happened.
As far as locking the door. Even if the door was locked, I probably would have opened it, had she knocked. And I probably would have let her in. She did seem awfully frightened. So the night would have ended the same way. Guess I'm a softie.
We have a front porch, so people walk in all the time, thinking we can't hear them knock on the porch door.

Way different situation then. I'd be a bit more understanding as well if she didn't walk right into your actual house.

Then again, why don't I get these strange gals walking into my house? Damn!, where do you live again? ;-)

Not my house we got three dogs and I have a loaded assault rifle next to my bed. Not that I would shoot some one in distress.

Say Ares, did you say you have the ability to host websites? Or if not, do you have a recommendation where to go? I know you guys were using www.8m.com for things. They were $5.99 a month for a no popup site. Register.com offered it for $4.95 a month or $49/year. Haven't decided for sure if I want just a one page site or possibly a 5 page one.

Mon, 06/23/2003 - 6:47 AM Permalink

well if you're doing any sort of commercial site, you don't want to use me for it :) my machines bounce far too often for it. we're using 8m.com for coolercrew, though the goal is to run it completely on my machines during the off-season, and switch it back to them from say december through february. provided of course i come up with a way to change user passwords via the web..... other than that i don't really have any recommendations for it, since as you noted, i host my own.

It would be a pretty low traffic site I would imagine. If it had over 100 hits a month after the first month I'd be surprised. Still, since I don't know for sure maybe it would be better to just pay for a service.

Hey AW, maybe your ISP allows you to have web sites. I know I have two and can have up to 7 with my Comcast subscription. And they're all included in the monthly price. I also just seen one of their new promotions in the Sunday paper where you can get High Speed Internet, Digital Cable and Digital Phone for $99.99/mo.

Mon, 06/23/2003 - 8:23 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

I do have Comcast also, but it's all in my roommate's name and it's basically his account. So I'd rather not set up a website under those circumstances and then have it be something else to worry about when I eventually move. So are you going to come over again sometime this summer?

I thought you'd never ask. I'd love to stop out again. So would my Sis. Especially during the day. Man the memories. I didn't want to ask in case your roommate returned and was no longer OK with it or something. Thanks. You wanna set it up as another party or just make it a quick casual thing?

I know that volleyball court sure could use some REAL talent to grace its boundaries once again. ;-)

My roommate is back now, but I don't think he'd mind having you over. He says he still feels bad about the day one of you came over and he gave them the brush off because he was in a hurry to leave. I bet he's actually appreciate the chance to make it up. I'll talk to him tonight and see if he'd want to be around for it or not.

Do you know when they are going to finish the work at North Valley? Holes 4-7 are getting fixed-up and I can't wait to play the 21 again instead of the current 17.

Thanks

Clue Master

Wow Reg, you're up more on my own course than I am. I didn't know they were going to go to 21 @ NV. I just assumed that they took those 4 holes out because you couldn't really take out any less because you'd still have to go down below. I thought they were going to find a place up above to add one hole to make it 18. I have seen Kaposia and it does look nice. I went out there a few times when Tim said that he and others would be there to give me a tour so I can update the site but they weren't there. I know it's opening this upcoming weekend because they have their annual Kaposia Days tournament going on. I'll send you my E-mail address if you want to hook up anytime.

That Kaposia days hunt seems a little strange. Most of the park is either ball fields, the disc golf course, or really densly wooded land. It would seem kind of dangerous putting it on the course but you never know. My email address is RedHawk991@msn.com. I am always up for a round. I play basically everyday but I am not very good. I am not one of those pros that has more rocs in his/her bag than drivers, but I do know the power of a Roc:)

On that note, do you have any San Marino/Ontario rocs? I have a DX and KC Pro and I want the older ones. I heard they are more overstable molds. Is that true? Those would make good wind midranges!

Hehe a George's Gorge hunt. You mean hole 20 with the new numbers right!

I started with a ROC but lost it and never went back.

You would know better than I would. I plan on heading out there tomorrow to take the tour and some pix as well.

I agree but was just pondering out loud. I'm sure it'll be easy as it's supposed to be a family event. I don't even know what you win for finding it. But I say we do it though!

I'll E-mail you.

what for? i was posting that when the power was out :) and actually, were the house mine and not my brother's, that's exactly what i'd have. the home depot actually sells backup generators that automatically start and transfer power over that hook up to your natural gas lines. they sell 'em in quantities from 5kVA to 40kVA. for reference, at least for those of you in the city anyway, go out and look at the transformer on your pole. that's roughly a 40kVA transformer, and it serves how many of your neighbors? its like having a 160 amp service (mind you, that one is powered by a 4.3L v6). which is quite a bit considering most of us have a 100 amp service. believe me. when i do buy a home fo my own, that's one of the first things that's going in. probably not a 40kVA model though.

I think the treasure is down on the South St. Paul River Trail where there is a walking/bicycle path. Probably near the new access off of Concord near Butler. I hope it's not Grandview Park. I live half a block away from it.

I already told you where to go Reggie. Go down Concord to just past Butler and there is a pull-off with an access to the River Trail. Hills on both sides. And they are trying to promote the trail, so it makes sense that they would hide it there.
