That the Kaposia valley if I'm not mistaken. There's actually a geo-cache in that exact spot that you're talking about OT. I think I'll try and find that while looking for the treasure as well. Thanks
Actually, I am the SSP treasure, but that's another story. Thanks for the advice Reggie. I tried to edit my first post and somehow they both posted. Good luck guys! Hope one of you finds it. I'm stuck at home cleaning for my sister's arrival on Friday or I'd be down there. And yes, Simon's Ravine is where the ravine comes out on Concord.
I love doing that kinda stuff. It makes for awesome pix. Unfortunately night chasing pretty much sucks unless you have a standard SLR with a shutter release to catch the lightening. Other than that it's just plain dangerous on a night like this unless you have a laptop showing a radar so you can stay out of the storms direct path. You want to be just on the edge of it for the REAL thrill anyway.
very true, cm. very true. then again, the danger of it all just adds to the excitement of it. now who do we know that has a laptop that can get constant radar updates?
I left work in Hopkins at about 11:40 and what a ride it was it normally takes about 20 mn. to get home after much adventure and many close calls I got home in an hour and a half. Of coarse I went down excelsior to lake st. and it was a lake. I will never say the east side is scary again you should drive down lake at midnight in the rain with the power out. people were hanging around by the stop lights that were out waiting for cars to stop so I just drove right through the intersections. Junkies and pimps and whores oh my....
I lived here in this city for many a year. Drank lots of beer at the BuckBoard, GFN, and Big Johns to name a few. The SSPaulians refer to the "hill" as being the Grand Ave throughway. If you stand where the old HillSide movie theater was (Rex music was right next to it). THeres a little memorial across from the police station that may be the hiding place. -Half way down the hill and half way up the hill :) I MISS THE TASTEE FREEZE!!!! GO PACKERS!!!!
ok- a couple things - 6 pm news last night mentioned getting a piece of 'palace' history- showing something with the winter carnival-they were gonna come back after commercials to tell us about it and then they never did- WoW!
don't feel bad me2! we bought a golf cart and a glass outdoor table set for the camper, hubby is going up tonight to see if everything made it through without damage :(
that tornado in Iowa is cool!looks like its right outa Wizard of Oz
much as i shouldn't say it, the picture that kare11.com had on their site of the buffalo lake tornado last nite was absolutely beautiful
</weather geek>
I am sorry everyone its my fault - I bought a pool for our backyard on Sunday- if we wouldnt have done that it wouldnt have rained so much! :(
:: decides that the best use of his evenings henceforth will be in me2's back yard ::
hey! golf cart- I wanna golf cart! you should break it in-COOLER CREW IT! thats what I wanted to do with one when I knew I couldn't afford a Vulcan truck :( but I cant afford either one- but I will ride on yours if you bring it down for the hunt :)
Hubby has plans for it, I have a hornsbys rhino head that he is putting on the front of it and a bunch of neon lights. we could probably put some kind of banner on it though, I will have to ask him if he would let me bring it out this winter, we don't have anywhere to store it so we were gonna leave it in the campground owner's wood shed.
I'm still waiting to see what kind of siren he put's on it, we actually have golf cart parades a few times a year so I'm sure it will be something loud!
bummer is -years ago when the Winter Carnival was putting together the Coolercrew website and revamping so to speak the organization-I tried to be involved-I went to a couple meetings but the people were so controling and conceited to me that I felt over powered. I wanted to originally work on the website and some guy took over and said he knew someone to work on it. which probly ended up being Sax. I would have loved to be involved with the history and collecting of historical items but it would have to be voluntary besides dealing with 'mightier than though' people and I have been making money on EBay selling items to private collectors. But I wouldn't mind somehow putting together a hunters/coolercrew collection - but where could it really be kept for people to see it? Like the weird simple treasures -hairbrushes, Camo Crue hats and beads, pictures of Mock hunts and the stories in general of these hunts. I guess I should be talking to Marley about maybe writing for the .com or posting pixs for it.
Dawg woke me up this mornin to 3 inches of water in the basement, we ran to Fleet Farm and got a wet dry vac. looks like I'll be cleaning the basement today instead of going to work.
Are there any pictures of this trail?
Simon's Ravine

Maybe she wanted to make sure you heard what she said the first time-
kids rarely listen. ;)
kids rarely listen. ;)
god knows reggie rarely does ;)
Ghod knows mine rarely do. That whole Bill Cosby routine where he says "Come here." about 100 times is much funnier since having kids.
I saw me2!
so i heard, frosti. she was actually quite surprised to see you too.
Surprised she didn't come back to loot my house, since she knew I was getting ready to head out for the weekend. ;)
Big tornado touchdown in Buffalo Lake tonight.
nah. she's above doing that, frosti.
speaking of weather, anyone up for doing a little stormchasing tonite? :)

Something you can play to tell everyone else in the park that you found IT and they can all go home now ;)
or annoy them so badly that they just GO HOME ;)
on second thought...you may not want to be placed in the same category as the leaf blowers
you may not want to be placed in the same category as the leaf blowers
Yeah, I definately do not want to be in that catagory!
