Hey- I just spent the last 20 minutes looking for the legitimacy of this e-mail! guess what? Its not legit! BEWARE...

It told me my ebay billing info was not right---I went into ebay and checked (not through the link the e-mail gave me) and I dont even use a credit card to pay my monthly fees - I use my checking account! and it was all correct!

at the bottom of this website it asks for social security info too! WOW---if you click on the links at the top of this link to go to other EBay areas-it actually takes you to the EBay areas---WOW! ---

has anyone seen this at the historical society or even heard of it? I want to see it!

STAINED GLASS MODEL OF 1986 WINTER CARNIVAL ICE PALACE INCLUDED IN WEATHER PERMITTING EXHIBIT

George and Jeanette Gru were among the 1.5 million people who visited the St. Paul Winter Carnival's Centennial Ice Palace on Lake Phalen in 1986. The retired couple, of Roseville, are stained glass hobbyists. They were so impressed by the grandeur of the lighted structure that they were inspired to build a replica out of stained glass.

With original plans obtained from the palace's designers, Ellerbe Associates Inc., the Grus began their work on March 1, 1986. Referring to their working style, Jeanette told the Star Tribune in 1992: "George plans the whole project and cuts the glass. Then we both solder."

More than 3,050 hours, 10,180 pieces of glass and 1,270 lights later, the model was completed. The replica is scaled to three-eighths of an inch to one foot. The Grus donated the ice palace to the Minnesota Historical Society in 1993.

When the Weather Permitting exhibit team decided to include the stained glass replica of the ice palace in the exhibit, they turned to Gary Lyon to assist with the electrical wiring. Gary had worked with the Grus on the original lighting of the palace in 1986. Now retired himself, Gary and his wife, Gayle, also of Roseville, worked with the team to replace broken lights, update the wiring and get the palace back in working order.

"To find the original designers of the lighting system and for them to restore it so the model could be displayed in its original state has been one of the highlights of my career at the Minnesota Historical Society," says exhibit lighting designer Rich Rummel.

Oh, aren't we all baby.

That is good to know though. It's nice someone like you guys take the time to follow through with stuff like this. I know I always do with calling in car accident's and stuff like that. It's amazing how many people just assume that someone else just had to already take care of things.

Which gets me double-thinking on passing on that CG treasure hunt today. I hope that thing was found 4 days ago and they just kept posting clues like SSP did. I wonder why those community hunts don't seem to post when it's been found or what the clues mean?

Alright, there's going to be a party at my place. And it's not going to be just a regular party, but a hot tub party! Yes, I've decided to rent the hot tub again only this time it will be a bit warmer outside than it was last January. The party starts Friday, September 5th and will go through Sunday really. My singles club will be there, but I thought I'd invite all of you as well and just make it a really big event. The place is big enough that the two groups can separate if they want to do their own things.

We can play badminton, volleyball, horseshoes, and even bocce ball if someone wants to bring it. I'd offer croquet also, but I don't think there's a big enough open space to set it up. The hot tub will be there all weekend (it doesn't go back until Monday). We can probably do a bonfire. And we'll have food to grill and stuff to drink. I was thinking though of asking for a $10 donation per person to help cover all the costs. You can pay more, you can pay less, but that will be the asking amount. So I guess the only real question is as a group, would you guys rather come on Friday, Saturday, or both?

Cooler AW!! I'll need to check with the boss, but I'm sure Saturday would work better for us.

It's not Pawlenty, but that fruitcake Mayor of Minneapolis, RT Rybak.

I never thought I'd say this, but I miss Sharon Sayles Belton.
