Digger - all prayers and thoughts are appreciated. I'll deal with the stress. It ebbs and flows, but the fact that we can communicate by email now and again helps. Lets me know periodically that at a particular place and time he is okay.
I'm also prouder than proud at what he's decided to do by joining the Peace Corps in the first place.
It certainly is an experience of a lifetime - his and ours!!
Terry, you're right. Parents would be better prepared. There would be fewer unwanted pregnancies. Too many "accidents" from people who aren't married or committed, who aren't mature or ready, who don't want children. Unfortunately some people aren't going to be thinking about all that, especially if they're in the heat of passion.
Me2, were your kids out at Valleyfair today (Sunday)? I was out there today and twice I saw these two sisters that I think were them, but I didn't see you anywhere around. In fact, it seems you were posting around the time I saw them.
Probably a good thing I didn't try to say hi to them then, though it sure looked like them. Then again, I think it's been over a year since I've seen them. The two girls looked like they were probably the same ages as your girls, but they seemed to be there unattended as far as I could see. And I didn't lose my hat. I didn't even bring it. Who needs a hat when it's hot out?
Yeah, but you shouldn't wear black when it's hot out either yet you're known for wearing all black, including your hat, during all temps. I wouldn't recognize you in any other color or without that hat. ;-)
Oh, by the way, the hot tub is here. It should be ready by Thursday and people are still invited to come over anytime after 6pm Friday. It will be here all weekend. And Saturday we'll also have games going on all afternoon like badminton, horseshoes, volleyball, maybe some croquet. The weather this weekend is supposed to be great so it should be a great weekend to spend outdoors. Is anyone coming?
it was either come over to your house David OR go to a wedding in Duluth/Superior and celebrate our anniversary at the same time....hhhhmmmmmmm lets see ... hang out with a bunch of guys at Davids and have a possible divorce on my hands or go see Lake Superior? ;)
Come on Friday and head up north on Saturday. Or you could maybe even come tonight if you really want to, but I still need to do some cleaning tonight.
:) -- We have reservations at a hotel for Fri and Sat nights.
hey, anyone know why this is even on here...I got this speeding ticket and it says :
YOU MUST APPEAR IN COURT if: then it gives 5 options...the 2nd option is... IF YOU PLEAD GUILTY AND WISH TO OFFER AN EXPLINATION.
now, I don't get it! I would go to the judge and say -yeah I am guilty, but I didn't know I was breaking the law and all the BS I had to put up with that day----but If I claim I am guilty wouldnt I have to pay the ticket anyhow? How will they make me not pay it? anyonehave an idea -or should I just pay it?
Funny, On the back of the ticket it says I have to sign it stating I am guilty---the kicker is I don't feel I should be guilty but I planned on paying it anyhow.
My mom-in-law says they are very strick in Aitkin County and they don't pass anyone. that once you get a ticket in Aitin County weather you are guilty or not -your screwed!
PLEA OF GUILTY AND WAIVER: I plead guilty to the offense listed and waive my rights as described above. then I have to sign it! I feel that is trickery!!! I am technically NOT guilty cause I didn't know I was speeding. so there!
if you were speeding, you are guilty, whether you knew it or not. But that might be your explanation, that you didn't know. But you're probably right in thinking guilty with an explanation won't really get you far. Pleading guilty though can cost you a lot more than the price of the ticket if it were to cause your insurance to go up.
IF YOU PLEAD GUILTY AND WISH TO OFFER AN EXPLANATION.
ALWAYS go to court for ANYTHING! It shows the judge that you have spent enough time thinking about what you did and wish to offer an explanation for why it happened. This has always lowered my fine by at least 1/2. That is, of course, unless you say you were speeding because you were late for work or some other lame ass excuse. A simple reply that you 'thought you were traveling at a safe speed for conditions' usually helps. It could affect your insurance whether you pled guilty by just paying the posted fine or by going to court. The difference is that you'll at least pay less in court. Unless there's sufficient evidence that you were, in fact, not speeding. And don't try the faulty radar angle since they have tons of calibration records and are always accurate to within 3mph. That's why they won't stop you for less than 5mph over unless it's for some other reason. Good luck
Going to see Tony the Tiger today at Rainbow Foods in Midway. check your local paper for sightings of Tony all weekend ;) first 100 kids at each store get their picture taken with him for free and we even get to keep the picture :)hahahaha bye
thanks AW and CM - I just think this actually is rediculous and noone should have to think about a ticket this much! this part of life just plain SUCKS! You guys all know how anal I am about being politically correct and I actually get erked when things don't go the way they should!
i don't know about anywhere else, but in ramsey county, if you have a clean record, they offer you a program if you go to court where you pay the fine in "court costs" and it goes away if you keep your driving record clean for a year. now my philosophy is that you should fight it just to make them spend more prosecuting you than they'll collect in fines. if everybody did this, you'd notice a drastic reduction of speeding tickets issued because the courts would be so bogged down it'd be ridiculous.
Mrs Frosti and I rode in The St Paul Classic this morning. A very nice ride. Though it was surprisingly crowded, considering they closed the streets to auto traffic. Lots of slowpokes riding 3 and 4 abreast. Fun though. We did the 31 mile loop, which is a great route.
A homie of mine was talkin about how he got a speeding ticket one time, and then decided not to pay it, and wait until the court date, and just see what happened... he said the Cop never showed up, so the judge just threw out the citation, and he ended up not having to pay anything.... he said that if the cop had actually showed, that he would have just said that he was late on paying it, and would have payed it right there...
So yeah... thas kinda cool
The bike thing..... man.. me and Shaggy's bro were out driving around, and all of a sudden we found ourselves in the middle of a buncha people...(like 5 or 6) just riding bikes down the street.... we followed them for like a half hour, just to see what was up, and where they were going... I dont think they were involved with that race thingamajig at all, cause they werent on any closed roads.... they were just going up and down a buncha streets, like a gang out for a ride.... we didnt notice, until we had been following them for a while, that they all had shirts on that said "Twin Cities Bicycling Club"..... but anyhow..... after that half hour or so of following them, an asian guy that was with them, pulled back, and stopped next to our car, and looked all pissed off....
Shagg's bro said "Whats goin on? What are you guys doing?".... and the ninja was like "I WAS JUST GONNA ASK YOU GUYS THE SAME THING!!!"
So we're both at the same time: "Whats goin on?", and he goes "WE'RE JUST OUT GOING FOR A LITTLE FUCKIN RIDE!!! LEAVE US ALONE!!!" and then he speeds off around a corner to catch up with his crew....
We got to talkin, after that...man.....first off... what the hell, that ninja was sporting a t-shirt, reppin the twin cities, right? So if us... being two twin citians, are curious, and decide to see whats up, what the hell was his deal buggin on us like that?
yeah, that would probably freak me out if a car was following me around while I was on my bike.
Thats why I carry fake hand grenades, just pull the pin and throw it over your shoulder and the problem of tail gaitting ends LOL, just kidding kids don't try this at home.
I called for a job to day for an artist to draw 101 pic's for a book on funny animal stories. There is no money up front though but a cut in the profits after the book is published. the author want's me to draw two pic's and send them to him along with my resume.
Nah... I wasnt with Shaggy... I was with his bro... some of you might remember him as "The Camera Guy" that was with us the last couple of years during the hunt, workin on our Wicked Clownumentary...
If anyone wanted to go to the Vulcans Party on Oct 11th at Aldrich arena let me know right away- the guy called me yesterday from the website and said if we get tickets through him we get a $5 discount and a 1 free drink card I think! I told him I would get back to him-so let me know and I will get the tickets and you can pay me back on the 11th-$15 per person after $5 off.
The Vulcans are having a party?.... what kind of party?
If its gonna be something cool.... like a big drunken shindig, complete with Pinata's and Kung-Fu fighting, or maybe even bands, and some wrestling, then hell yeah.... me and Shaggs would prolly crash that thing, complete with paint and everything...
Inks got a popup tonight that McAfee had stopped a virus attached to an email. What was happening as Outlook Express was downloading mail, it would get stopped and the download would abort. The next time Outlook Express would do the checking email thing, the first three emails on the server would download again...and again...and again. I finally went out to the comcast server, found the infected email there and deleted it from his email account.
Be aware. Thank goodness for good virus protection.
The email appears to be from Microsoft with an attached "patch" that it says you should download immediately. The attachment is patch.exe
I've been getting a ton of viruses lately. It's been so bad I have to check my email constantly to keep my account from going over quota. I don't use Outlook though and I'm pretty good about knowing what not to open. Thus I've never been affected with a virus.
I seen 39 humpbacks, 6 orcas, lots of baldies, cute sea otters, 4 black bears, 30 glaciers, awesome sunrises/sunset, way to beautiful even to describe!! Float plane to remote island for bears, Helicopter to the top of mendhall glacier, Glacier Bay national park, I caught the biggest King Salmon of the summer!! pictures coming soon... 40 pound King(pink) I got twenty pounds of Smoked salmon on the way. I didnt see many people up there :) I sure missed my Arbys

I haven't worn my hat all summer except for Friday night when we were sitting outside at the drive-in and it was getting rather cool that night.
Oh, by the way, the hot tub is here. It should be ready by Thursday and people are still invited to come over anytime after 6pm Friday. It will be here all weekend. Mark will be on Kare 11 again tomorrow at 10 a.m.-ish with Roxanne battle...talking about GRASS ;)
JOE!
I'm sure Marley & I could impress Roxanne just about as much as Mark can. ;-)
