Here is all the pertinent information on the hunt:
The TMK mock hunt will start on Wednesday, September 17, and end on Sunday, September 28.
Clues will be released at 9 pm each night.
There will be 12 clues in all.
The treasure will be hidden on public land in Ramsey County (stay out of the fairgrounds, off the indian mounds)
The treasure will not be hidden in a spot that will endanger hunters (along a cliff, under an electrical box, on the water of a lake/river, etc)
If there are questions or concerns, please try reaching me by email or egram. I will have my cell phone with me, but while I am at work it will be off. I will check messages during breaks though.
Prize will be announced. Donations are welcome.
wood carving of the medicine man holding the cattle skull at the bottom of the hill?
I drove by there thismorning- there is another care house up the block on Mounds Ave (neighborhood st) there a couple dead ends (cornered) I saw the carving
But overall I didnt like the park so well-we'll see
900 posts, and you guys still are pretty clueless ;)
I was thinking about the golf ball clue- golf being like the golf of Mexico- or golf balls are round and bumpy- circular - circular thinking- fire rings-COMO!
So you're saying it's not Phalen, Newell, or Mounds? hehe
Hey, you've got a list of parks there. Start working your way down ;)
So what about the "puff" reference in Clue #6. Has that been discussed yet? And could it be tied in with the flea powder ideas? Or am I way off base here. I'm trying.
ok- a caring home---first 2 parks I actually thought of for that would be Cherokee and Baker-now _I dont want to beleive an actual house was used because they could up and close a daycare-BUT these particular daycares have been there for years and have signs in their yards- both parks have tennis courts. Cherokee has an overlook with the binoculars at Cherokee and Smith-Bark is in Baker :) and I still like the under=Below= Bellows
I dont think Kids was telling us more than just tennis courts
in that clue- but you never know
Of course there's the adage that I know applies to my Mock Hunt- Never trust anything the cluewriter tells you outside of the clues.
I like loot being used as looting tombs- Mounds
also ROAM- "where the buffalo roam" - Bison and such roamed up on Indian Mounds area in my research.
A note= Key = Cherokee
keen eye = Cherokee (similar letters)
to embark is to board--- The Midway HUB at Newell
as well as Stanford Newel was on the ST PAUL PARK BOARD
2/3 of the way done slogging. I am on 680 right now, hopefully I will get a clue between 680 and the current posts...
I like the keen eye for the telescopes at the end of the High Bridge too me2. And the other clues you pointed out make me like it better. I hope it's at Cherokee. It's easier for me to get to to hunt.
I dont want the 'caring home' to be the cap-dome or seeing the PP or downtown St Paul in general- it just doesnt feel right for that. But caring could be PEACE- you can see peace park from the top of the bridge through the scope :)
what if we make this list smaller- take off all parks that have only one court- there is plural so there are more than one court
OK. Using the same logic that MV did:
If with a keen eye you see a caring home=CHEROKEE
I feel that when you're in the right place, if you're observant, things will fall into place a bit. You may not get everything, but there will be signs that let you know you're correct.
I'm done slogging through all the posts!!!!!!!
But I still am a little bit lost. I think I'll stare at the clues for a few hours.
the keen eye for Cherokee reminds me of the Mocha clue for COMO- It looks right but it just didnt seam right but it was right!
Huh?
I am actually currently looking at Cherokee in the guide- and the baker/BARK, tennis courts, daycare, keen eye, and overlook all look good there
When I read the caring home clue, I thought about the houses that have the "McGruff Safe House" signs in their windows. You might be able to see one of those houses from the park...
a villain is a Con -way
what if we make this list smaller- take off all parks that have only one court- there is plural so there are more than one court
Hmmmm, that might be the most useful thing you've said all day :P
I like a church (maybe the Cathedral) as the caring home.
House of the Lord?
devil- sinclair
gas station on the cover of that record- posted earlier
what if we make this list smaller- take off all parks that have only one court- there is plural so there are more than one court
Hmmmm, that might be the most useful thing you've said all day :P

Thanka AW
thanks AW- I got part way through-eliminating and my phone has been ringing off the hook :( PEOPLE GO AWAY_I'M BUSY! hahaha
Oh no, they're getting closer, I must throw them off the trail! ;)
Just kidding.
that rules 12-15 more out though
there are pyramids at 2 parks that I can recall - Cherokee and Conway
Edgcumbe - edge = corner
A feel so naked without my treasure hunters guide.
west minnehaha -there is a bar nearby with a rainbow on it -always reminds me of "theres no place like home" wizard of oz
St Clair rec has a tiny tots daycare program in it
Ya know, I take into consideration that TMK may be doing some table talk to throw us off but there was one thing that he said very early on that makes me think it's in a larger park. He said that the park was already pretty much identified within the first couple of clues and that those of us with the smarts (leaves me out) who figure it out will have a nice head start on the others. If it's a small park like say Langford or whatever, most of us could have those parks cleared out within an afternoon.
Just an idea. I need to keep in mind that it took many of us many hours to find Marley's coin in Mears, so who knows.
With how this hunt has been going, I've been having to nurse you guys along rather than throw you off.
Yeah, whatever TMK. I see right through your schemes. ;-)
if it is a bigger park it would have to be Cherokee- Im or Phalen maybe
I know I am late getting into the hunt, and therefore behind on the noodeling, but which clue eliminated highland, it seemed to be a favorite for a while. Doesn't it have any tennis courts?
yes it does
West Minnehaha also has tennis courts and is on Pierce (keen eye) Butler
My daughter just emailed me and said that my son-in-law is wondering why I'm using a picture with my nipples highlighted! Haha They're highlighted? I thought they were scribbled over! I don't care.
looking closer at Merriam :)
you can see grey smokestacks (matter) and tennis courts and T&C golf course near by.
There is misinformation about Merriam Park in the guide - It wasnt the location of the first State Capitol- there was a Merriam Hill area near where the present State Capitol is. Unless he meant that discussion was had to where the Capitol should be located and that location was in the discussion-
I'm sure your son-in-law loves that picture. Self-portrait of his mother-in-law naked on a bed with colorful nipples
Oh, an observation. For all you arm-chair noodlers, you won't have a chance really until the final clues of getting this hunt. Its advantageous if you're out in the parks looking, getting a feel.
well- HOMECROFT- a caring HOME
on the corner -Edgcumbe road
can see railroad tracks that lead to the Star Wars/Harrison FORD Plant
maybe a SUE clue to come ;)
Highlands tennis courts I believe are near ROAM/ROME at Ford Pkwy
Pagination
