Here is all the pertinent information on the hunt:
The TMK mock hunt will start on Wednesday, September 17, and end on Sunday, September 28.
Clues will be released at 9 pm each night.
There will be 12 clues in all.
The treasure will be hidden on public land in Ramsey County (stay out of the fairgrounds, off the indian mounds)
The treasure will not be hidden in a spot that will endanger hunters (along a cliff, under an electrical box, on the water of a lake/river, etc)
If there are questions or concerns, please try reaching me by email or egram. I will have my cell phone with me, but while I am at work it will be off. I will check messages during breaks though.
Prize will be announced. Donations are welcome.
is it just me, or is could find the treasure in a st. paul park not a very strong statement?
I mean, you COULD find it in one, or you COULD not... maybe I'm way off base, still rusty when it comes to noodling...
Edit: Oh wait, wrong clue, wrong hunt, see what I mean?
btw, know of any parks that have water reservoirs
Thanks Reg. I just found it too. Post #878. I know Kids! Doesn't it crack you up? I love the picture though Reggie.
OT- I knew mv was talking about Langford so I just looked up the 91 clues
That's an old clue from a previous PP hunt KC. TMK's clue reads "from very near you will embark and go to a St. Paul park."
See, I said you had a good brain. I just slogged through a couple hundred old posts!
yes yes, edited the bad info, any thoughts on reservoirs? or is that way out there?
Water at Langford could be the hockey rink at the rec center they do every year, the fire hydrants around the park and up the hills.
I mentioned them as possibly being the low water, and water towers being the high water.
There's no such thing as way out there. I like the sound of that. That might become my new mantra.
Does anyone know (other than the m. falcon) what vehicles were used in that movie.
and back to the waterfalls idea, I'm not aware of many parks in ramsey county with waterfalls.. maybe Como and Phalen. There's still much I need to learn.
How does waiter fit at Langford? The place is surrounded with old homes, an elementary school and a rec center.
Regman, there are tons, other main ones though are Star Destroyers, Tie Fighters, X wings, Y wings, A wings, and those are just the space ones, not to mention land speeders, speeder bikes...
I dunno for sure.. substitute star wars vechicle could be so many things..
A Snowball
Terry, I think waiter was just another way to get to water. Water with an eye (I) can serve you. But thats just my opinion.
Hostess dessert.
I think Hostess makes them...one of those chocolate cake things covered with stuff to make it look like a fluffy snowball.
snoballs wouldn't be terribly original though, the PP did that one year.
I'm sure you all want to know my opinion. Hehe. You guys are right on some things, wrong on other things. Pursuing some things when you shouldn't, not pursuing some things when you should more.
I also posted a while ago a list of all star wars vehicels. But I think that was a hint at the park somehow- HARRISON FORD. (langford).
And this too, I know ersatz means cheap but why would it be written like that?
I don't believe you TMK, how would you know?
must be fun to be the one who knows, you get to watch the conversation, laugh at the wrong answers, and when a correct one is glanced over...
You know, there's a fair amount of people noodling this, and with all that are noodling, still no consensus even with being more than half way through. Guess I did make it pretty hard.
It also mean fake or a substitute.
ersatz means fake or a reproduction...not cheap - though fake could be construed as cheap I suppose.
And you know, it isn't really one person that is coming up with all these right ideas. There's been a number of people who have come up with good noodles on the right track.
So...gonna tell us which ones of us have had anything right? Maybe someone that's all wrong? Hehehehe
reassemble might just mean noodling... taking bits of clues and sticking them with other bits..
OK. If I by any chance am one of the people who have been on track with these clues, it has to be in Cherokee! Because all of my noodling has led me to Cherokee.
I know Reg, I've spent a fair amoutn of time at BC lately, taking pictures and all
TMK- Why are you in here wasting your time tormenting us? Shouldn't you be doing something important? Like making up the definitions to these crazy clues?
I like Cherokee - except that one of the hunts this year ended up there....and I'm guessing Kids would put it somewhere that no one else has done.
Terry, I've been very tempted to give you guys extra hints and clues. Or encourage people when they are on the right track. But I'm trying not to do so. I know I am considering not naming the park itself until the last clue or so.
It wouldn't be fair to give extra hints or clues. I was just giving you some grief.
yeah what would the point be of extra stuff anyways? not like the PP gives out extras because people beg
I've said that numbers of people have had good noodles. And there hasn't been really a lot of correct noodles. What you guys have figured out correctly and believe in is very little. There's a lot still, in my mind, that has yet to be figured out correctly and have faith in. Its about putting it all together. I'm hoping with this hunt it will make us better hunters in various facets.
We wouldn't want any extra clues just because we're older than the rest of you and it's harder for us to get around and our eyesight isn't as sharp as the rest of you so we might miss some of the clues sometimes. Sorry Terry, I should only speak for myself I guess. :)
Like a conterfeit or more like a model?
Right now, if Lilman's hunt hadn't ended in Mounds, that would be at the top of my list.
