Here is all the pertinent information on the hunt:
The TMK mock hunt will start on Wednesday, September 17, and end on Sunday, September 28.
Clues will be released at 9 pm each night.
There will be 12 clues in all.
The treasure will be hidden on public land in Ramsey County (stay out of the fairgrounds, off the indian mounds)
The treasure will not be hidden in a spot that will endanger hunters (along a cliff, under an electrical box, on the water of a lake/river, etc)
If there are questions or concerns, please try reaching me by email or egram. I will have my cell phone with me, but while I am at work it will be off. I will check messages during breaks though.
Prize will be announced. Donations are welcome.
And just to be clear, I think time bomb clues are good things. I use them myself. If you set up enough of them, then when someone does get to the right place, they absolutely know it's the right place because all these seemingly random things all suddenly fall into place.
Oh AW, I have those in there, believe me. There are some things that once you find out what they are, you'll be like "ah-ha!"
Got it! Thanks AW (and TMK) I kinda had it before but now you solidified it. Pretty easy in hindsight I guess. I see why it was a fairly early clue. See ya out there guys. (I'm assuming I'm on to it anyway)
Okay, so I thought of a joke inspired by CM. If someone has their head stuck up their ass, are they using hindsight?
Uh oh, maybe I better hurry and get out there sooner!
Like this TMK?
Look at your own risk. (Happy with the edit TMK?)
Don't worry AW. I'm meeting with a guy until 3 then the kid and I are heading out to take a look to see if other ideas pop up too. :-)

I wouldn't worry too much AW- that isn't that easy- I went through albums yesterday over and again a couple times and I got lots of ideas out of them.
Dude, you are so lucky my fiancee doesn't read this. You'd be dead. I would think of deleting that, lest she see it and go hunting for your head ;)
OMG
So what's her e-mail address again?
Seriously, don't even think about it. She would not be joking at all.
hey CM-I have tried to call you and get your machine-left you messages-
Hi Marley - I see you ;)
high and low- upper and lower afton
or upper and lower case
Wifey has my old phone now. I'll e-gram her old phone that I'm using. It doesn't have VM but I will have it with me.
good thing I didn't say anything incriminating then ;)
we got cows
Ford Trucks
long hair
diamonds
bats
more cows
a dress
roses/thorns
and I don't see it but Green posted once that there is a Burr St near BC
Thank you CM about the edit. I really don't want her to see that. She'd be upset with myself, and also you. I'd rather not have that, for the both of us.

Is this referring to the hunt or are you having a garage sale?
burr is much closer to a-a than bc, j.
Upper and Lower Afton, Afton being a river. Flow gently sweet Afton. However, here's what I know and when I knew it. That got Nixon impeached, but I'm going for it anyway.
I still think that he is PAGEing us in clue 1. Also reference in clue 1 to Ma Press. I think you might be able to see the PP building from the bluff in Cherokee.
Clue 2: Must keep dogs on leash in Cherokee. There are signs. Cherokee dead ends at Smith. Cornered
Clue 3: I was covered with burrs after looking in brush at Cherokee.
Clue 4: There is a trail at the north end of the park that takes you to an area where you can watch eagles and other wildlife. Binoculars
Clue 5: HI is below the park. You can embark from there.
Clue 6: Tennis Courts. They are there.
Clue 7: Ivy Falls is just to the west I think it would be of the park. That would be water up. Mississippi below.
Clue 8: Shooting that Cold Feet movie? Or maybe another movie? Not tragic.
So those are my ideas and I'm sticking with them until a better idea comes along.
But it sounds as though you guys have figured out some place else. I still like Cherokee.
I think everyone has left to go to a park and I don't know what park. :(
I drove to Cherokee thismorning and I wasnt leaving---then I had to go to the bathroom ::sigh::
Thoughts earlier while at Cherokee:
there is the Bruce Vento overlook (sign with binoculars)
and Chippewa is a form of water
went by Newell, Langford, Merriam, SSA, Linwood, Baker, El Rio Vista and Cherokee -the only one out of all of those I even liked was Linwood and Cherokee -
Actually I haven't seriously looked anywhere. Too much other stuff to do (research and all for the big hunt). But I have been getting out to the parks when I've had time, not especially trasure hunting, just getting myself familiar with all of them.
Mostly I'm interested in trying to figure the clues out, it's good practice.
BTW I like the wording of clue 8, it rhymes really well. Out of all the clues, it'd be my favorite written one so far.
Even though all I seem to get out of it is basketball.. and only that from everyone else's posts (I'm not much into sports, so most sports references, especially player names, confuse me to no end). Luckily I haven't seen many sport references in the PP clues, or I might have a disadvantage in the big hunt.
Baker was second on my list.
hmmm.. is it any coincidence that today's word of the day is
adumbrate \AD-uhm-brayt; uh-DUHM-\, transitive verb:
1. To give a sketchy or slight representation of; to outline.
2. To foreshadow in a vague way.
3. To suggest, indicate, or disclose partially.
4. To cast a shadow over; to shade; to obscure.
always nice to be on an email word of the day list, increase my vocabulary a bit.
Baker has a daycare across the street-called Loving hands and something Daycare -
but my problem was I couldn't find water and all the kids from the school were out on the playground and playing tennis and baseball --I couldn't even get out of my car or drive by slow without feeling uncomfortable like I was stalking.
I drove by AA and same thing- kids or people were playing basketball and the confined fenceline with so many trees make me uncomfortable -I could not see downtown or any forms of water - but HawTHORNE is near and there is a house across the st with a healthcare notice of somesort on it.
I didn't like either park
took a jaunt to Linwood-again- nope- don't like it
I was gonna go by Homecroft but that is near a school as well - but it is also near the JJC Jewish Community Center -
I still want to get over to College
which I thought I got a good look at a month ago when I went to a garage sale near by but I guess I need to look again
Then there is Prosperity and BC uuuuuuuuh!
oh-anyone know where the actual Mounds park is? not Indian Mounds?
My THG says indian mounds is a few blocks south of it so it cant be far and should be easy to find since it's on a dead end road
I'm looking at Mounds Park in the THG. Interesting. But I wish it showed what streets lead to it. It says it is accessible only by two dead end streets. But it doesn't show the streets. I'm wondering if it is near the house that was used in the movie That Was Then, This Is Now. You can see that house from 94 as it turns toward the exit for Indian Mounds Park.
me2, one nice thing about winter hunts, only medallion hunters out there, or the occasional winter sports person, and if it's in the evening, no sledding kids :)
I get the same way about wandering parks with a buncha kids around, I mean, I have every legal right to be there, but, in today's society, easy for people to think you're some creep.
It looks like Thorn St. runs into it!
Also, it looks to me like that might be right where the house from the movie is. That house is the last house on the bluff. Do you know the house?
Basketball and tennis courts
On rethinking this, I'm not sure if you can see the house from 94, but you can when you are crossing the Lafayette Bridge going north. It is just past, maybe a block or two, the big Victorian that stands out on the bluff. It is small with a porch in the front. The guide only says accessible by two dead end streets. Wish it said what the name of those streets was. And they don't show on the map either. Just show an alley.
I tried finding it the other day with no luck- sounds like a good place if we all havn't been there
Whats going on? Did the site crash?
Never mind, the times are Pacific and the clue comes out at 8. I thought it came out at 7.
It's 8:04. Do you know where your clue is?
I don't feel tardy.
Who is the clue deliverer?
Velma was surprised to see a couple of adult swingers
Near kids at a playground with sand between the fingers
The native wildflowers losing color to hibernate
People eat at picnic tables while couples on a bench date
She saw the ghost of a little boy walking around
Looking for a girl he knew well that was lost then found
He told Velma "A historical marker in a park
Will bring the treasure site out of the dark"
