2003 ThoseMedalingKids Mock Hunt

Submitted by ThoseMedallingKids on

Here is all the pertinent information on the hunt:

The TMK mock hunt will start on Wednesday, September 17, and end on Sunday, September 28.

Clues will be released at 9 pm each night.

There will be 12 clues in all.

The treasure will be hidden on public land in Ramsey County (stay out of the fairgrounds, off the indian mounds)

The treasure will not be hidden in a spot that will endanger hunters (along a cliff, under an electrical box, on the water of a lake/river, etc)

If there are questions or concerns, please try reaching me by email or egram. I will have my cell phone with me, but while I am at work it will be off. I will check messages during breaks though.

Prize will be announced. Donations are welcome.

When my sons were young, they lost a few golf balls through the neighbor's windows!

I don't think there were plastic balls when we were younger, Reg.

Oh shoot! I missed the end of the French Revolution Joe AW! I wasn't paying attention.

I'm guessing that maybe it's hidden in an empty golf ball package or something like that. I can't make anything work with golf courses.

Nah, it never crossed their minds. They were practicing their drives. Right over the backyard fence and into the neighbors windows. Needless to say, they helped their father replace them.

That was the start of the French Revolution.

I dont think that clue has to do with golf balls

I was thinking that too, but it's just a suspicion. I don't actually have a theory yet.

I have a theory!

Thu, 10/09/2003 - 9:33 PM Permalink

I thought the revolution was from 1887 - 1899.

I mean 1787 to 1799.

The French Revolution technically started with the storming of the Bastille in 1789 and went until the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.

and it isnt worded like it is talking about anything, it looks like a word game

"left and found" seemed like an odd thing to say compared to "lost and found". And if it meant something was to your left, wouldn't that depend which direction you were facing?

nope call in hunt day!

Thu, 10/09/2003 - 9:40 PM Permalink
OT

Looks like I had it wrong. Started 1789, ended 1797

Thu, 10/09/2003 - 9:42 PM Permalink
regman

AW- I think, if the clue wasn't some sort of game, left would mean "kept behind" or "forgotten"

Thu, 10/09/2003 - 9:43 PM Permalink
OT

Cool Reg! That's right, I forgot you're Belgian, right?

Maybe he left golf balls in a park for us to find kinda like frozenbutt did as a little extra help to find the coin.

figure I can waste the bandwidth for a time. Check it out if you like. Some comments on the pictures might be nice, like if you like them or any suggestions oh how to take pictures that'd help more.

I didn't see your post about visiting Belgium before I posted Reg. I just remember you talking once about going there. What I meant was, aren't some of your relatives from Belgium? It's kind of like I say I'm Irish and Polish when I'm really American.

Great pix but maybe taking some of the park that it's actually in would be more helpful. hehe

Just slogged through more than a hundred posts. Marley, you crack my shit up. That M&M pix had to be the funniest thing I've seen in a long ass time!! LOL!
Thanks

I'll post some tomorrow. ;-)

but want to stick to St. Paul Parks until I get them all covered.

It looks like a windy next couple of days KC0, so you might wanna check out those hot spots before they're all bare. OT and I posted some in the other thread. There's also a cool spot that I'm checking out tomorrow on hwy 13 on the south side of a bridge just East of Moose Country in MH. I'll post that tomorrow if it's in peak as well. For the lack of water and sun, there sure are bright colors out there.

Thu, 10/09/2003 - 10:00 PM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

Post your pictures TMK. It can be clue #10.

Thu, 10/09/2003 - 10:01 PM Permalink
KC0GRN

That's true TMK, the colors seem to be ready to peak soon, and if the wind picks up, the peak will be gone just as fast.

To be honest, I've never been up to Cherokee, are there good scenic spots up there? I've been meaning to explore that park for a week or so now, things just been busy.
