Here is all the pertinent information on the hunt:
The TMK mock hunt will start on Wednesday, September 17, and end on Sunday, September 28.
Clues will be released at 9 pm each night.
There will be 12 clues in all.
The treasure will be hidden on public land in Ramsey County (stay out of the fairgrounds, off the indian mounds)
The treasure will not be hidden in a spot that will endanger hunters (along a cliff, under an electrical box, on the water of a lake/river, etc)
If there are questions or concerns, please try reaching me by email or egram. I will have my cell phone with me, but while I am at work it will be off. I will check messages during breaks though.
Prize will be announced. Donations are welcome.
I could, but I couldn't annimate it then.
Jeez, we having a Russ Meyer film fest in here??
Newell sounds really good right now, almost too good. TMK is a sneaky guy and therefore a sneaky cluewriter. I bet its at Harriet Island, I have no reasoning, but that just seems like something TMK might do.
I don't know how to add any layers to an animated project yet without somehow adding it to every individual frame. That would be a great idea too to see a pair once the top of the chest opened. Sorry. :-(
TC - Save the picture, go to your preferences and browse your saved pix and find where you saved your picture. OK OK
thanks cm for giving my girl an avatar.
How about Tuesday night around 7ish for the re-hash bash? Where we'll have it to be determined. Suggestions welcome.
how about a friday nite instead that way we can close the place down without having to worry about getting up for work the next day :)
a message from kids:
"i know that its fall, and the leaves are falling, but you guys won't have to worry about piles of leaves and stuff like that. you may have to rake some leaves around, but you won't have to dig through big piles of leaves. the treasure is still out there."
An extra clue!

Should be fairly easy to setup. All you need is a web host that supports php.
So is everyone thinking Newell now? I might have to swing by there after work (hehe, no pun intended from the last clue). I still don't remember seeing any historical markers there, and the last clue makes me think I should be looking for one.
It occured to me I really have no reason not to think Newell from the clues. The only reason I have not to think it is because of other things TMK has said. And then I think, "Never trust the cluewriter!'
Actually, I'm wondering who or what Newell was named after, that might give some insight...
From the THG:
Named after Stanford Newell, attorney, member of the 1st St. Paul Park Board, and U. S. Minister to the Netherlands from 1897 to 1906.
Hey KC0, great pix of Newell! Here's one of your panoramics put together. I'm gonna head out there pretty soon to take a few of my own. Thanks for the link too.
And I found it.. Stanford Newell, one of the first members of the St Paul Parks board.... not much interesting outta that I guess...
I know you're a purist and don't like to rely on the guide, however this info is available on line also so don't worry. ;)
Very cool CM! I have one of those we put together of property we own north of Hayward after a storm blew down over 200 trees. I actually have it right over my computer desk.
Cool CM, I had thought of stiching that one together myself, just hadn't gotten to it yet (still more interested in getting out there and getting the parks photographed).
I guess StanFORD Newell would fit into why people were looking for something with FORD in it. Makes sense.. Okay, I'll stop by there after work to take a look around.... still wish there was a historical marker in that park somewhere, I thought I had blanketed the park pretty well with my trusty Olympus D-560 zoom Digital...
BTW CM, what graphics program did you use for the stitching? it turned out really well. I've got photoshop 5.0 LE and the GIMP. Both have their pluses and minuses I guess, but stiching images together.. I can only think overlapping layers for doing it.
Think outside the box KC0 for the historical marker. I use ArcSoft Panorama maker for all my horizontal and vertical panorama pix.
Ahh yes, sometimes outside and sometimes inside. Clues are often misleading, by design I'm sure.
Maybe it's one of those timebomb things like Allison was saying, everything falls into place when you're standing at the treasure site.
Arcsoft.. Thanks I'll haveta check it out
I'll fill you in if you see me out there. I'll be the fat camera guy with the rake. ;-) Arcsoft makes a nice photo montage program too.
I think I'm going to head over to Newell in a little while.
I'll fill you in too AW ;-)
C ya out there
Fill me in on what?
On the historical marker clue ;-)
And me without my camera today, I'd stop by home to pick it up, but that wouldn't make any sense as I'm out on the east side.
Well.. I'll probably be out there around 6 (that's when I'm off work). I'll be the guy that doesn't really look prepared for hunting in a faded red t-shirt with glasses (no lasering my eyeballs thanks). In fact if anyone out there sees me, come up and say hi.
We're both out of work for a week!!!
Gotta get some stuff done and together here and then we'll head out to do some digging before heading north.
Vacations are a good thing!!!!
how about a friday nite instead that way we can close the place down without having to worry about getting up for work the next day :)
I second that one!
We are just back from Newell. Many things fit...but the golf thing is still elusive and so are the wildflowers.
There is the newer playground area, the basketball court, the tennis courts, the adult swing and picnic tables. No benches though that aren't attached to picnic tables and it seems odd to differentiate those.
We did find a water outlet and Inks' long arms checked that out as far as his arm would reach. We checked out some of the brushy areas and ended up filled with cockleburs.
There's a couple people raking leaves and bagging 'em up. They were cleaning out the one brushy area pretty well. They must be using those for mulching.
Oh yeah....and no caring home...at least not the way I'm thinking of a caring home.
And there's a baseball field that hasn't been mentioned unless it's buried in one of these clues.
I hope the people bagging up leaves don't accidently bag up the medallian! I won't be here for the clue tonight. I'm going down to watch my grandson play during half time at the Zumbrota vs Pine Island football game. I love Friday night HS football. Especially on a night like this! Talk to you guys later.
Have a good time, OT.
By the time the clue comes out, we should be on our way north. The hunting delayed us some and we'll wait now for the traffic to clear out some.
Thanks, you too Terry! It's going to be a beautiful weekend!
Psst, Terry. We're close to a birthday Joe for you!
