Congrats KT! Better start training him for medallion hunting, you don't have much time left! ;)
the man is Dan, you've all met him, and after a 25 year engagement, he asked. Medallionator he is... He has been known to look up the word "the" during hunting time.heheh.
We're having a formal church wedding this Tuesday with 5 guests.

Ah, now it's all coming into focus. Are you sure you're not rushing into things? hehe
lol how do you know you're too into medallion hunting?
When you hide your fiance's engagement ring in a park and give her 12 clues to find it (if you're really insane, you'd only give her one clue a day)
;-) You just gave me an idea about our checkbook

We headed down to Albert Lea this weekend to use up one of our free hotel nights. Boy was it a nice trip.
We found a friend along the way who did finally let us pass

He has been known to look up the word "the" during hunting time.hehehe
PERFECT!
so your getting married tomorrow? wow- Congratulations!
CM- where you driving and taking pics at the same time or standing still by that sign?
Those are awesome- that trio should be entered into a contest!
At the Oktoberfest at Ruttgers on Bay Lake that we attended this weekend there was a man selling framed photos- I thought that you guys in the forum here take way better pics that him! I think you guys got something going here- I consider you guys to be a nice 'hidden' secret :) thanks for always sharing-I love your photos-
Thanks ESD and me2. I drove by and the wife pointed him out. I noticed in my rear view mirror that he was still hanging out. Assuming that he was used to the nice country folk, I turned around thinking he wouldn't take off. He posed for us for those first two shots allowing me to get the combine in the background. Then we just sat there talking with him. He must have gotten board and waved his wings good-bye. That wingspan was huge! I got so many nice shots in such a short period of time in that state park. We got there right at dusk. It looked like we stumbled upon a little secret from all the campers that were lined up on the shore watching the sunset. I definitely want to go back.
Me2- Yes, tomorrow.
Hey- Who was that strange guy photographed with you?
Love the hawk pics cm Hawks are way cooler.
CM, I missed it. Which state park were you at?

Thanks KT. For shits-and-giggles, I'm gonna submit those to WCCO for their weather segment. I've had a few on there before but none of a bird.
Congrats KT! Sounds like life is good!

Wow! Great pictures CM! I think the Minnesota Life Building is my favorite shot, but it's hard to pick a favorite. I'm going to go back and look again tomorrow when I'm not so tired. Thanks for posting them.
Thanks a lot OT! I just joined that community today. I love buildings and architecture. That pix you are talking about was taken during 'Light Up Night'. St. Paul sets aside one night every year where they ask the facility managers of each building to keep all their lights on until midnight. It's a photographers dream and it also makes for good tourism shots. New York does it twice a year. Take notice the next time you see a night shot of some cityscape. The regular night shots aren't as vibrant.
Now I'm loving the St. Paul Skyline Panorama pic. Do you market these pictures? If not, you should.
I agree with OT, excellent photography there Clue Master.
Those all taken on that olympus you had on you at Newell? If so, I'll stand by my thoughts that olympus makes one of the best digital cams around.
So is there any warning of these 'Light Up Night's? Or is it just that you happen to notice all the buildings are lit up one night and figure out that's the night? I'd be very interested in taking some pics during one.
BTW I'd have to say my favorite shot is the one you used on the link. I wasn't able to capture many good fall shots this year, let alone one with downtown in it.
Thanks KC0. Most were taken with that Olympus but some were taken with my old Pentax then scanned. Yeah, I checked out all the digital cameras at the time and the quality and standard viewing angle were by far the best. I knew about Light Up Night because I was the manager of one of the downtown buildings and took part in it each year. I'm gonna look around and see if there's any public notification. I would assume there would have to be somewhere.
I know they publicize it because we used to take the kids to Cherokee to see it.
hey you were on my side of the river and didn't even drop in to say hello? you were like 1 block from my house. funny I didn't see you on the bluff since I drive it 8 times a day!
I am now married. Life is sweetness on a vine. I will post a pic as soon as I can.
I was too busy on my wedding day to be a photographer......
THANK YOU for all your congratulations!
