I am going to get Mark and probly watch 'How to loose a guy in 10 days'.
Kids had karate thismorning and I met George Fenton- one of relations to the Fenton Glas Company - and got him to sign a couple peices at his glass signing today- I also won a door prize book that he signed -...actually kinda funny...Whitney asked me if she could have a peanut (Fenton came out with a special elephant and with the display they had all these peanuts) - then a bit later she said "I woner if he would sign my peanut" so not only did I get her a peanut I got Mr. Fenton to sign the peanut and got his picture with it -hahaha -gonna give it to Whitney with her glass piece for Christmas.

we got football tomorrow -

The eclipse is quite visible right now. Maybe 1/3 of the moon is covered.

I think the 45 degree may be the steps there- they angle up but that is by memory- and my memory says they were harder than hell to walk up! there were lots of them that just never ended!

I dont know of any newspaper box there-

I actually like Hidden Falls during the day - or during a big hunt when lots of folks are around.

And I was trying to figure out how the Roosevelt and the New Deal stuff came into play there.

I know there's bits and pieces still around at Como, the fairgrounds, the rec center in our neighborhood, but I can't recall anything like that at Hidden Falls.

I gotta go- got family to tend.

I will talk with you all in the morning sometime or see you out there.

Night everyone :)

oh- that President that got me at Hidden was Cleveland- he helped get that park up and funded

as for Roosevelt I thought the only thing there would have to be connected to the Vetrans home across the river. but dont know-you can see it from up top but NOT from down below

There's a crescent shaped moon now where there was a full one not long ago.

It's warmer than it was last night! And once the moon comes back out from the earth's shadow, it should be beautiful down there by the river.

Well, we are gonna head out, hopefully we will see someone else!

I've got some laundry to get going and I think I'll take my shower before that. BBIAB

ugh! Don't mention laundry - that's what i've been doing all day and still doing. How in the world 2 people can generate enough laundry loads to keep a person continually busy all day long i'll never figure out!

ESD just left to go climb hills and look for treasure in the dark.

Moon should be fully covered in about 15 minutes. It looks awesome with my binoculars. But my digital camera doesn't have much zoom, so the pics won't be too impressive.

I tried to talk ESD into having a bonfire tonight in our backyard so we could watch the eclipse, he had some lame excuse about home work and it being too cold. UMPH!

But hunt fever is a whole different thing! Hehehehehehe

Just a sliver left to be covered.

I found the connection to FDR.

In 1887 Hidden Falls Regional Park was selected by Henry Cleveland, a nationally known landscape architect and park planner, as one of four major park sites for the city of Saint Paul. No improvements were made in Hidden Falls Park until 1936-37, when the Works Progress Administration (WPA) under President Franklin D. Roosevelt carried out an extensive improvement program on the site. Featured in the park was a small spring-fed waterfall from which the park got its name.
