Well, I understand it that you can only use Ipod with Itunes
they made it WIndow compatible some time ago.
at first it was Mac only, and then you could get one that was either Mac OR Windows, but now the iPod can do either. Of course, you can now also have iTunes on your Windows.
I use iTunes all the time and I don't even have an iPod.
Then I don't know what the hell I was talking about. I swear I read about incompatibility issues with either Ipod or Itunes, and that it would work against Apple.
With directions from the Internet and an old Russian truck motor, a Vietnamese farmer fulfilled his dream of making his own helicopter. The job took two friends, seven years and $30,000.
Now, military officials say he can't fly it, because he didn't get approval to build it, and they confiscated the makeshift copter.
Getting approval to keep working on the chopper won't be easy. No Vietnamese individual has ever been granted a government license to build an aircraft, said Le Cong Tinh, director of the Air Transport Safety division of the country's Civil Aviation Administration.
I know I am dating myself here, but I learned on a Commodore...
Anyone remember the "if/then" statements?
I also remember the first computer purchased at work for the engineering department. An IBM 5150 upgraded to 1 meg of RAM and a 20 meg hard drive. Man, what a powerhouse! Thought we would never need anything bigger.
Now it's just hidden from the user behind a pretty GUI.
I think that is what revolutionized the computer. You no longer needed to know all the dos commands. My son was playing on the computer at age 3. We had some of the "Living Books" series. He could click on the little icon and the computer would read a book to him. Then he could play on the pages of the book. It really taught him the extreme basics of modern "computing". I strongly recommend this series to anyone with young children. They are entertaining and educational.
you can turn off the popblocker in the Safari menu
When will there be a solution to spam?
I never knew I could increase my penis size, and my breasts, both from the same pill.
Did you also know that pill can also get you a good mortgage rate?
any of you guys wanna buy some fine art?
memory is very very good
Crabby, what do you think of Apple limiting their Itunes formats for their Ipod?
For that reason alone I don't think I'll consider an Ipod or their Itunes music service.
I don't know what you mean...iTunes and iPod are now available on both platforms.
when is MS going to port Rhapsody to Mac?
or do you mean that the iTunes store uses AAC files?
I like AAC files.
do you think they should use crappy WinMedia files? no way.
I mean that you can't use Ipod with other services/files, like you can with other MP3 players.
btw: Doesn't RealNetworks own Rhapsody, and is not affiliated with MS?
I don't follow.
iPod is an MP3 and AAC player.
what's not compatible?
yes, but it's not Mac compatible, therefor it's a PC program.
or are you talking about Napster now selling crappy WMA files?
no, iPod doesn't play crappy WMA files...they use AAC files.
Well, I understand it that you can only use Ipod with Itunes.
I also thought that you couldn't play MP3 files on Ipod, but I guess I was wrong.
the only thing an iPod can't do is play WMA files as far as I know. I think you can even play WAVs on them if you want.
I just wish they would record.

Ok, maybe it's that you can only use an Ipod at Itunes?
FYI: http://www.wired.com/news/mac/0,2125,50688,00.html
again, I don't follow.
you can use an iPod by itself.
iTunes is just a program that works really well with an iPod. It's just a media player.
Is your problem that an iPod doesn't work automatically with other media players?
If you want to use Itunes, you have to use Ipod.
MS Word question: Anyone know if there's a way to take a block of text, say a poem, and get the text to form a circle.
Does that make sense?
iPod is a player...hardware.
iTunes is a player...software.
they operate independant of each other.
I use iTunes all the time and I don't even have an iPod.
I have a program to make labels for CDs that can run text in a circle.
I don't know about Word though
I have a program to make labels for CDs that can run text in a circle.
That's smart thinking, Crabby!
I'll try that!
I use iTunes all the time and I don't even have an iPod.

Making a difference, one Windows user at a time.
Good one, Rick!
I first learned on a Mac and have since been stuck with Windows because all my jobs required it. We need a major Mac revolution in this country.
please no...that would be the one thing that would screw Apple up, and good!
I first learned on a Mac...
I know I am dating myself here, but I learned on a Commodore...

Anyone for a game of Pong?
Anyone remember the "if/then" statements?
I use if/then's every day.
Hee. I was going to say something similar about if/thens. They're still teaching them in Computer Science classes today.
I'm so use to Windoze that I forgot that they still type all that out. I suppose someone has to write all those programs.

Hell. You had a top of the line machine. I cut my teeth on a Commodore Vic 20.
Anyone remember the "if/then" statements?
Don't forget the goto statements.

Say it ain't so!
Wasn't my machine Rich, it belonged to the school I went to.
Say it ain't so!
Don't the programs still use all that stuff? Just that now users click on a button or a toolbar if I am not mistaken.
Grandpa Dan Zachary 3/23/04 9:09pm
Yeah... I guess they still do at that. :)

Yep, the logic is all the same. Now it's just hidden from the user behind a pretty GUI.
Now this is cool:
