The astounding truth remains: Wean yourself away from the lethal chemical/sugar food vortex, and your body changes. Your cravings change. Your skin and breath and energy shift. You desire greens. You desire fresh ingredients. Your body craves whole, real, unprocessed foods and you become more sensitive, can taste the difference in an organic avocado versus a conventionally grown one. Organic eggs from grain-fed free-range chickens have more energy.
You learn that seasonal eating actually synchs up with your body's natural tendencies. You realize you are not a whimpering pathetic victim, a slave to Coke and Doritos and that obnoxious football dink from Round Table pizza. It's kind of, you know, a nice realization.
There is no other way. You cannot count on the media. You cannot trust major pharmaceutical or fast-food or government-supported industries to have your best interests at heart. You cannot look to the church. Or schools. Or major chain supermarkets. Or television. Or sitcoms. Only you.
After all, who doesn't want to be around, all healthy and radiant and aglow, for the impending nuclear holocaust?
Nothing illegal. ;) A nice, thirst quenching combination of Fresca and Mello Yello. I prefer an equal blend, but some will insist on going heavy with the Mello Yello, or even saints preserve us, some vodka.
The only selzer I've tried is the "New York Selzer" but I have a feeling that is so sugared up and flavored that it bears little resemblance to the real thing. Any suggestions for a good brand to try?
Fresco-yella was the most wonderful thing to soothe a hashed throat. :)
So, what makes selzer a selzer? I'm being a curious nit-picking git, I know - just tell me to go google it if this gets past your interest level. :) I have enjoyed a number of naturally sparkling mineral waters, like Gerolsteiner and Aranciata, which is why I ask - if those can be considered selzers, I'm with you.
I like scotch, single malt from the lowlands (like say Glenkinchie) and Speyside (like say Cragganmore, altho Glenlivvet is better known). I like Makers Mark bourbon, altho I'll sip Jack or George.
I don't typically like mixed drinks and definitely nothing sweet.
So, no Southern Comfort & 7-up, huhn? :) That's a good thing.
I used to drink cheap blended whiskies (C.C., Windsor, Black Velvet) for years, then moved on to brandies (C.B., E&J). Now I'm mostly into micro/home brewed beers. I don't drink often, or much - which is definitely a good thing. Occasionally a good finger of brandy on the rocks is nice though... and I keep meaning to try fine cognac someday.
In all honesty, if FlyOverLand weren't so big and spread out, I'd love to do a roadtrip. I have people I'd like to visit in Cleveland, Ann Arbor, Chicago and StP.
But good grief. It makes my ass sore to just consider that long in a car.
"And The Unicorn knew she wasn't meant to go into the Dark Wood. Disregarding the advice given to her by the spirits, Unicorn went inside and bled silver blood.. For her misdeed, the world knew evil."
Some examples of the Unicorn Form are Eve (Christian) and Pandora (Greek). The Unicorn is associated with the concept of innocence, the number 3, and the element of water. Her sign is the twilight sun.
As a member of Form 3, you are a curious individual. You are drawn to new things and become fascinated with ideas you've never come in contact with before. Some people may say you are too nosey, but it's only because you like getting to the bottom of things and solving them. Unicorns are the best friends to have because they are inquisitive.
"And The Vampire was all that remained on the blood drowned creation. She attempted to regrow life from the dead. But as she was about to give the breath of life, she was consumed in the flame of The Phoenix and the cycle began again."
Some examples of the Vampire Form are Hades (Greek) and Isis (Egyptian). The Vampire is associated with the concept of death, the number 9, and the element of fire. Her sign is the eclipsed moon.
As a member of Form 9, you are a very realistic individual. You may be a little idealistic, but you are very grounded and down to earth. You realize that not everything lasts, but you savor every minute of the good times. While you may sometimes find yourself lonely, you have strong ties with people that will never be broken. Vampires are the best friends to have because they are sensible.
"And The Elfin saw the evil and misjudgement in the world and shot her arrow at the sky. Bolts of lightning struck the earth and gave the world balance and growth."
Some examples of the Elfin Form are Demeter (Greek) and Khepry (Egyptian). The Elfin is associated with the concept of growth and balance, the number 6, and the element of water. Her sign is the half moon.
As a member of Form 6, you are a very balanced individual. You can easily adapt to most situations and you may be a good social chameleon. You aren't afraid of changes in your life, but sometimes you evolve too rapidly, leaving others to think that you are leaving them behind. Elfin are the best friends to have because they are open minded.
RIP Johnny.

After all, who doesn't want to be around, all healthy and radiant and aglow, for the impending nuclear holocaust?
Unless you live near the equator, with no seasons. But otherwise, I don't missed packaged, prepared foods.
Mmmm, Doritos...
I take it back. I miss cheetos.
Every once in a while I miss Maple glazed fried rolls fresh from the bakery. Then I remember how punk-ass sick they used to make me. Craving gone.
Fresco-yella. Mmmm... or maybe it's the situation we always drank that in Frosti, what do you think?
Mmmm, I haven't had me any Fresco-Yella for a long time. I don't know if I would even enjoy it any longer.
It's all about (altered) state of mind.
I miss starburst candy, altho davis david sent me some not long ago.
And Krisy Kreme.
Dare I ask what Fresco-yella is?
Nothing illegal. ;)
A nice, thirst quenching combination of Fresca and Mello Yello. I prefer an equal blend, but some will insist on going heavy with the Mello Yello, or even saints preserve us, some vodka.
Ah, Fresca. I like that stuff. I'll take mine straight up, though.
Fresca is too grapefruity by itself. It needs the Mello to cut that down.
Nyah. But we've established I don't like Mountain Dew or Mello Yello, they're too sweet.
Actually I think Fresca is too sweet these days. I'm a straight, plain selzer girl.
The only selzer I've tried is the "New York Selzer" but I have a feeling that is so sugared up and flavored that it bears little resemblance to the real thing. Any suggestions for a good brand to try?
Fresco-yella was the most wonderful thing to soothe a hashed throat. :)
Polar is good. Pelligrino or however you spell it.
I drink Bretana here, but at home I drink the store brand, in liter bottles. That's one serving you know.
Vintage isn't bad either.
Seltzer shouldn't be sweet, and altho they do have flavored ones, I'm a purist these days.
So, what makes selzer a selzer? I'm being a curious nit-picking git, I know - just tell me to go google it if this gets past your interest level. :)
I have enjoyed a number of naturally sparkling mineral waters, like Gerolsteiner and Aranciata, which is why I ask - if those can be considered selzers, I'm with you.
Seltzer is carbonated water. The end. No color, no flavor, no sweetener.
It's what some people (idiots) mix with whisky. Also called soda water.
Seltzer is the stuff that the three stooges and other vaudeville-type acts were always spraying at one another.
A little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down your pants...
Okay-dokay then.
(makes mental note not to buy aime any whisky sodas)
Whiskey sours?
Just a sliver of ice is all, thanks, Sparky.
And what variety of whisky do you like? A nice smoky bourbon, perhaps?
I like scotch, single malt from the lowlands (like say Glenkinchie) and Speyside (like say Cragganmore, altho Glenlivvet is better known). I like Makers Mark bourbon, altho I'll sip Jack or George.

For beer I most like dark lagers and porters. But I'll drink most anything, even cheap pilsners.
Unfortunately, I've never been around anyone (ahem) who home brews, but the micro brewery here Bogota Beer Companymakes an excellent porter.
(ahem)
Hey, I offered. And I even reminded. But you never gave me your folk's address.
You'll just have to stop by for a sampling session...
Perhaps I was angling for an invitation.
Then again, maybe I just forgot. Hee.
Perhaps I was angling for an invitation.
<boggled by the possibilities>
Heh.
<angling>
Frosti, see if you can schedule that for a day you need help brewing, would you?

big and spread out is part of it's charm, unfortunately.

Wait! This thing says that unicorns are the best friends to have. Then it says vampires. Then it says Elfin. Which is really the best??
We're all the bestest, obviously. Coffee?
Did someone say coffee?
Yes, have some.
Did someone say - DIE-NO-MIGHT?!?
Heh, heh, heh. Animal like bang.
Who has coffee? I need.
