WHAT ARE HOURS OPEN ON WARMING HOUSE? 9 TO 4, 9 TO 5, 5 TO 9? WHY DO I KEEP GETTING EDIT DELETE BUTTONS?

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 9:36 PM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

Yes Grannie2Bagin, I thought of that. Como is still my pet theory. I can fit it to all the clues, but its too much territory for me to cover by myself.

The edit/delete buttons are so you can edit or delete your own messages. Too bad you can't do the same to others!

Granny, It is not near a golf course, sorry.

Grannie - #2 doesn't think it is newell. Yes, the 4th clue spells out newell, but it also says if you want to be an iconoclast (go against everyones belief, which is that it

is at newell) you will find it.

OK EVERYBODY THINKS ITS IN DIFFERENT PARKS JSUT LIKE I THINK NEWELL SOMETHING OLD LAST TIME IT WAS THERE WAS IN 74

I think Allison Wonderland has it right on the money.

"Here's the proper interpretation of the clues: #1 It may or may not be in a park with a golf course. #2 It may or may not be in a park with a sledding hill. #3 The

numbers 9,5, & 4 will be found somewhere in the park, if you look hard enough. #4 Where ever you think it is, it isn't. #5 Somewhere within sight of the park there's

a book. #6 The name of one of dozens of famous people whose name has been used to name things, has their name nearby. Face it people, they don't ever want us

to find it!"

LOL :-)

An iconoclast can also mean a person who distroys religious stuff.

WHAT WAS THE CLUE WITH "GOAL". A GOAL IS HOCKEY, NOT BASEBALL, FOOTBALL SO IT IS WHERE THERE ARE HOCKEY RINKS.

DOES NEWELL OR MERRIAM HAVE HOCKEY RINKS?

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 9:40 PM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

It could be in Como, just no where near the golf course.

At the bottom of a ski flying/jumping slide, the final stopping area is called the "goal."

Egghead the Tr…

yeah, well it's just too easy to spin off on one of those infinite loops of reasoning....

"If they mention golf course just to throw you off track..."

"If the iconoclast reference means challenge the conventional thinking then it just MIGHT be in the same park it was in only 2 years ago..."

If you stretch the clue far enough, you can wrap it around any park. Best to use broad, simple ideas and hope they all add up --in my experience anyway.

snostar

ok--Como and Newell people, what reasoning do you have?

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 9:46 PM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

Alright, here's my address theory again. If you were trying to find an address, the 900 block would be easy to find. Even 950 wouldn't be too hard. But if it wasn't

labeled, you'd have to estimate where 954 would be (somewhere a four). On Como Ave Leading up to Chatsworth the address at Kilburn and Como Ave. is 950.

The next house is 958. This part of the park is far from the golf course or the action of the big snow slide. The Tower from Chelsea Heights school can be discerned

through the trees, and Milton St. is one of the streets a couple of (short) blocks down. Only an iconoclast would think they would hide it in Como again when it was

there just two years ago (for those of you who study the past).

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 9:47 PM Permalink
GRANNIE2BAGIN

SISTER SISTER WHAT IS YOUR THEORY ON THE 954?

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 9:47 PM Permalink
Egghead the Tr…

I thought the 9,5 and 4 thing might be bus lines, but they don't intersect.

There are also television channels, but I don't really see any common link there either; not in St. Paul anyway.

I would have to say that this has absolutely nothing to do with a golf course...they just do not want them distroyed!

Newell Park is really tiny. Too tiny for the kind of crowd $10,000 will attract.

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 9:49 PM Permalink
rocketgirl

Allison, I heard they were enforcing the park closing hours at como... not sure if that is true....but if it is I don't see how it can be in como.

very interesting Alison.

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 9:49 PM Permalink

Grannie - Not sure anymore. Many good ideas, but not sure of the park, so it's hard to decide on one

snostar

Can i hear someone's reasoning behind como and newell??

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 9:50 PM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

I don't know when Como closes, but I was there past 1AM last night. Besides, this is a very obscure part of the park away from anything that could be damaged.

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 9:51 PM Permalink
snostar

I think we should try to come to a consensus as to which park (at least!)
