That's still up? I'm surprised they haven't trashed it yet.

Nice try, but I still feel behind the times.

Ug. It's 9:00, I should stay up and work on my project, but I'm just so insanely tired that I can't think straight. Going to bed, and will pay the piper tommorow and Tuesday nights.

Sparky, for you. Music gets a social conscience. They're coming to First Ave on the 14th and looking for volunteers. You get a snifty t-shirt out of the deal too.

Hey thanks Frosti. Looks like some good kids doing some good work.

It also means free admission to the Ryan Adams show, which should be a good one.

I never have been to a First Ave. show - the whole parking situation down there has always deterred me.

Wed, 12/10/2003 - 11:40 AM Permalink
Frosti

What parking situation? It's on a Sunday. Plenty of parking available.

Sparky

Driving, parking - it's downtown! You know me and FUBAR driving situations. Remember when I avoided freeways for about a year after I moved back?
I'm not saying it will deter me this time, though - just saying why I hadn't been down there *before*... I'll think about it, drop me an e-mail.

I thought that was because you were driving the BAT. Now that you have a little econobox, you should be able to scoot around the city with ease.

Wed, 12/10/2003 - 11:46 AM Permalink
Sparky

Well, there is that too. A major part of it was attempting to force myself to re-enter the "get the hell out of my way or die" attitude that is sort of necessary to driving in metropolitan areas lest you be crushed into the curb. I learned it well in Vegas, and *unlearned* it very well in Utah.

this morning I wished I had the damn BAT again too. Little car made it alright though. Not much plowed at 5:30.

Sure, why not?

All I know is, the days start getting longer now.

funny you should mention that, I was posting a link to James Arthur's site (listed in the links of your article) in a discussion over on Spirit Place where the Saint/Devil interpretation of Santa was going on. I've read through Arthur's site (lengthy!) and it is really quite interesting. Food (pardon the pun) for thought for sure. :)

Sparky

Thanks for the warm welcome, good to be back!
Ah, no, no drowning. I swam in the big lake with the funny tasting water, and still didn't drown. I got drug through the surf a few times - which would have been fun if it hadn't been for the rocks and shells (we were on the aptly named Shell Beach on St. Barths).

You were keelhauled?

I didn't know you could waterski behind a sailboat.

Mon, 01/05/2004 - 7:18 PM Permalink
Sparky

No, no keelhauling. No, no waterskiing - although with the wind we had you could have probably para-sailed with ease.
The breakers and undertow bodysurfed me through the surf a few times. Whee! Then I got the hang of timing the waves a little better.
I learned about the practice of keelhauling. Not a pleasant moment in sailing history.

Hmfpht. Maybe I won't ask to see the pictures afterall.

Ah ha! Yes, on our honeymoon I was pushed through the sand by a big breaker while trying to bodysurf. Left a giant rugburn-like scab on my chin about the size of a quarter.

Tue, 01/06/2004 - 8:26 AM Permalink
Sparky

Well, no eyeliner. I wouldn't let them touch my eyes, and we only had seven minutes to transform me, but yes there are pictures of me in a wig, dress, lipstick, etc.
You still might not want to see them. :)

The truly sad part is that I wasn't trying to bodysurf, I was trying to stand up and wade out. :) Some of the breakers were shoulder high on me.

You don't have to use that story with us, we're all friends here. We know where you got that injury.

I'll be getting the CD in the mail with all the professional photos of our trip soon. I'll post some then. I have a bunch on our camera at home, and maybe I'll play with downloading some this weekend.
None of me in drag though, just some of the beach.
The topless optional beach we were at would have made Voyeurweb's hall of shame. Not pretty for the most part.

Curses!

The topless beaches in France weren't pretty.

Yeah? Must be the French, we were on St. Barth's which is still French. Of course it was New Year's Day, the pretty people were all still probably sleeping it off on P. Diddy's yacht. Or Hef's.

Heya - I posted a bunch of pictures in the Synergy member folder under the Travel thread. Not the whole enchilada, but something anyway. Have no fear amie, when I get the crossdressing pictures I'll make sure you get a copy. In the meantime you'll have to make do with beach pictures.
