Well I hate to rain on your parade but I am finding the puck this year;)
Hehe ESD, I'm sure everybody is saying the same about that. To be perfectly fair, I'll just say I intend to find it one year. I'm not too picky about what year, but I'll be out every year until I do ;)
I bought a couple kewl buttons today down at the antique store right across the street from 7 corners hardware one from 1970 - for 7 bux - and one from 1980 - for 3 bux - kind of kewl - they have quite a few - only really one form each year tho.....
good to see you guys...getin' geared up!!
Hey mikey!! Hey AW hey frosti hey THC hey SCRIBE....leela and LL and me 2 and ares.....anyone hear from chris??? is he really gopin on a trip??? too bad......
I talked Pops into being adventursome last nite before the Wild game...
Talked him into trying Ethiopian food. Definitely *not* a cusine for those that do not like hot, spicy food or are the squeemish type and don't like their food to touch or mix. Ittiz a fun cusine because there are no utensils!!! You use a piece of injera - Ethiopian bread - and scoop up a mouthful and pop it in!
I LOVE the stuff having first tried it about 15 years ago at Ooda in MPLS. I was ssssssoooo pleased when Pops not only tried everything on the platter - we got the huge sampler for two - but actually LIKED it!!! :D While he won't be requesting lamb on a weekly basis, he does like it after last nite being the first time he'd ever tried it. So now I can do some lamb and know he'll eat it - I love lamb!
Ethiopian coffee makes Columbian taste like dirty dish water. There's an African market across from the restaurant ("Fasika" on the corner of Snelling and Sherburne - about 2-3 blocks north o'University) where I can get the beans. We plan on doing some grocery shopping down there this weekend.
Can't wait to turn Timmers on to this place. He's spent quite a bit o'time in Hati and likes the Hatian cusine. While the cusines are not a like, they are... Know what I mean? Spicy, flavorful, strong flavor, unique flavor mixes and spice mixes... I really think he's gonna like it.
Timmers? Plan on eating there during The Hunt. Okay?
Does anyone know if there is a way to find an e-mail that has been deleted? I even deleted it out of the trash folder so I'm thinkin' I'm kinda screwed here :(
Yes, if the disk space that it resided on hasn't been overwritten yet.
I've used this program in the past. I'm sure there's others. I used it because it was cheap.
If the file is larger than 10K, you have to pay and register, otherwise, I have a registered version somewhere around here. Last time I tried to use it, it wouldn't work on Windows ME though.
LL- by chance did the bad person leave you feedback? the ebay #would be on there. or look in your "sent mail"-if you sent them an e-mail there should be record of it. You don't recall this persons EBAY NAME? that will be different than their e-mail address-but if you recall it than look them up that way and try to send them another e-mail through EBay.
Hiyall! Been practicing at my medallion hunt sleep schedule.....don't know how that's all going to work out...it's getting so I can hardly hold my eyes open at 9:00om!
Good to see so many hunters returning, gathering, waiting....Can't wait!!
Hey GREEN....didn't catch the name of the Ethiopian place you guys went to, but I have a very good recommendation for a place down in Sibley Plaza (all the way at the end of W 7th) called Queen of Sheba. Friend of mine from work says it's the best in the metro....and she lived in Ethiopia for 8 or 9 years.
yeah, she has emailed us a couple times but no item # on those, she did e-mail me back this time but she say's "honestly, this is the first e-mail I've gotten from you guy's" buncha bullshit! I have 2 of them that I didn't erase!
Sadly no. I have something in the oven that requires a hour drive one-way across the heart of both cities, but other than that it's pretty scarce. My unemployment officially runs out today. You might be getting your subway sandwich from me before you know it. ;-) Thanks for asking MOM
On a different note, did anyone catch that show 'The Apprentice' last night? What did you think of it? I'm not that big a fan of 'reality' type shows, but this one struck me as kind of different because the 'players' need to show they're business savy. Plus there's one idiot who has his head so far up Trump's ass that he'll never be fired. At least not until the last episode anyway.
HAY, MOM!!! I wuz thinking about you the past two days and wondering where you and Dad are! SO DAMN GOOD TO SEE YOU!!!
We went to Fasika. There are three E restaurants on the east side: Fasika, One-I-Can't-'Member, and Q o'Sheba. I'd read about all three (reviews and stuff on The 'Net) and decided on Fasika as it sounded best. And also I thought, though *possibly erroneously* that Fasika was closer to Xcel than Sibley Plaza. (Pops and I even discussed that... Well, actually, I argued with myself that I could have been wrong about distance. For some reason way out west 7th seems like I'm 1/2 way to MPLS.)
Q o'Sheba had some cool pics on The 'Net - I definitely want to try them... You and Dad game? We could meet!
I really liked Fasika's food. Thought it was good. Because I pull a "Bob" when I eat (moaning in xtacy over every mouthful and tossing out compliments to the chef...) the chef gave us some xtra beef stuff that wasn't included on the sampler platter. It was heaven - as was it all. Has your friend been to Fasika? I recommend it highly.
You and Ter working on those buttons? You KNOW I'm gonna pitch a hissy fit if they're not ready for The Pre-Dig Gig!!! I can't live w/o my buttons!!! Gotta have them!!! I don't know what time we're gonna get there (I can't believe I typed that! I bet we're there by 6:00!!!)... So if the buttons are flying out the door, please make sure you save three for me, and at least one for Pops and one for Timmers - otay????
I can't WAIT to see the girls!!! Has it really been seven years already? That first Re-Hash Bash in Chair-O-Key seems like yesterday... I can still see it in my mind like we were just there...
THX, ittiz both. If we're digging around, those coyotes are gonna been hiding and watching us. They won't come anywhere near us. And truth be known, there have prolly been coyotes in Chair-O-Key upwards of 15 or more years. They've adapted very well to mankind.
well, rumor has it, that we've got coyotes living in the woods across the pond from us. like was posted upthread, they're more afraid of us than we are of them.
ll, you don't have the item number in any of the emails you sent to the seller?
Never thought o'that, Ter!!! The *laughing at us* I could live with... I'm so used to it! In context with The Hunt and noodling and stuff like that! LOL!!!
Aire-eez, quite a few largish metro ARES-as have coyotes. They've adapted to so well to living with man. I can't remember where/when I read this - it was YEARS ago. YEARS ago.
I think I'd email them again and threaten to report them to Ebay, and if that doesn't get you your sword, then I'd give Ebay the email address and they can go with it from there.
On another front, I ran a test on my 10 days of video, converted it to MPEG (the kind the final product will be in) and it converted very nicely to a video cd quality format.
Hay back Green! Have we ever NOT had buttons done? Hmmm? We've been working on a design, just messing with details the past couple days. They'll be ready - come hell or high water.
I've never been to an Ethiopian restaurant, but I've wanted to go for years and years....don't know *what's* been keeping me really. Not sure which ones my friend has been to, never heard her mention Fasika. I think she said the Blue Nile was pretty good too - probably even a better place to take a "first timer". Queen of Sheba was by far the most authentic though.
It's funny - I worked with many Ethiopians and Somalians in San Diego, and even then, never got the time or the guts to go to an Ethiopian restaurant.
I had some Ethiopian foods here in December at a sort of multi-ethnic dinner at work. Interesting food actually, but not my favorite. That bread stuff is truly interesting and bouncy.
Green - have no fear. We always have buttons ready...and this years is perfectly charming in my opinion. We've just been working on tweaking and perfecting. I think we're about there.
don't know, but I had to change my vacation plans
you should be able to look up the item # on e-bay for closed auctions. look in your "my e-bay" page for items you've won
Tried that, it's over 30 days:(
Well I hate to rain on your parade but I am finding the puck this year;)

then are you gonna quit?
Hi Randy!
Hi Randy! You gonna stick around this time? Or pop back in when the hunt starts :)
Jello, All! SO GOOD to see everbuddy comin' home!
I found out today I DO get to take vacation and have the ENTIRE SECOND WEEK o'The Hunt off!!!! YES!!!! Pops got that week off, too! I CAN'T WAIT!!!
LL... Hubby's trying to get his sword, huh? What happened to the old one? It yust peter out?
HeeHee! no, The peter is just fine thanx!

Mom's in the house. How ya doin ma? Nice to hear from ya. Kids all OK?
Hey, CM!! Kids are all fine - older two in school and began hockey this fall. Right now, they're still just basically learning to skate.
How about you? Anything new on the job front?

I e-mailed ebay to see if they can re-send the conformation e-mail, I will just have to wait and see what happens.
Good luck then. That really stinks.
Where can I find the old disscusion archives ares?

We saw a coyote this fall, right outside the Maplewood Library on Beam Ave. They're everywhere, apparantly.
liquor lady, the archive is Water Cooler.
