and as for the stadium where the ice palace is? its sucks! squeeze it in is right! they got the whole West Side and the idiots wanna make downtown look like New York City-cramped. West Side was in the top 3 area's and for some reason they dropped it.

I'm with you. Although it would extend over 94 to the Capitol side of the hwy. I'd like to see it down by the tracks on the East side of the Downtown area. You could include parking that way anyway.

I am claustrophobic so to try to put that stadium in such a tight space and with lack of parking....can you imagine if both stadiums had events the same night?
the parking and restaurants can hardly handle it now! If they put the stadium across the river it gives ample parking AND other restaurants to prosper. Spread the city (downtown) out a bit-take the chance-cross the river.

I also think if they decide to put it too close to the Capitol it can overshadow it-it will also block my (St Paulite's) view of the Capitol from the bluffs! bet the politicians NEVER thought of that! -if it towers too high it will over shadow the highways too-the city needs sunlight! -let the AIR in! geeeesh! So I try to go back to sleep... but couldnt manage... it was cold as shit up in my room...

When I realized it was out, I called the Xcel Energy "Lights Out" number, and talked to an operator... He said that close to 5,000 people were without power, including some schools and a couple police stations... "important people" as he put it.

Dunno bout downtown, ninja... but I'm on the east side, and it was out here... my uncle is bout 4 blocks one way, and my sister about 5 or 6 blocks the other way, and it was out in both them places.

I'm guessin it was pretty widespread.

Hey all,

I heard on the radio this morning that they have placed 11,000 bricks at the ice palace, and will be flooding the skating rink they setup yesterday sometime today. Also I heard that crews will be working around the clock until they get the palace done now. So I'll be doing the webcam video around the clock as well to cover it all.

Oh, and I now have 15 days of ice palace construction recorded.

Only 16,000 more bricks to go!
