Can anyone explain to me why sometimes I'm logged in as Oldtimer and then I refresh and come up as OT? I had to change my name when I was on a different computer, but I don't even have it any more.

Subject: Re: *really* cold weather

It's been really cold here too. We actually got down below 60 a couple nights last week.

Our newspaper is inviting past winners of the Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt to talk about successful treasure hunting at a special event in January. We’d like to invite you to join us, as well, as a collector of Treasure Hunt memorabilia.

The news media will be invited, and the event will be held the day the first clue runs in the newspaper:

Sunday, Jan. 25

2 p.m.

Pioneer Press building at 345 Cedar, downtown St. Paul

Our event will be fun and informal – a sort of mini-reunion of past Treasure Hunt winners. Reporters from local TV and radio stations likely will ask if you’d be willing to talk about some items in your collection and the special appeal of Treasure Hunt lore.

We’ll provide refreshments and a special gift to thank you for attending. If you can do so, please give me a call or reply by e-mail. I hope you can join us.

(work recall isn't till feb 12th) I am SO glad I have a career that gives me time off w/ unenjoyment for the Carnival. Hey! why the **** didn't DaN VOLUNTEER? He's a concrete dude. It'd be close to done now. ...Then again, I'm biased. I'm sending him on an extended fishing trip on the 5th clue- that way he won't go needlessly raking some St. Paul park inch by inch on the 4th clue and continue till the 10th clue, no matter what. heheh. I dig you dig, I'm stoked!!!!! Hope to see you all very soon!!!! (artemis- how are you? Hannah sez hi,. and send me e-mail, I lost yours in the 'puter chaos)

Mom, was wondering if you, Dad and the Girls wanted to meet me and Pops for dinner tonite. We did Kurdish. Not as good as Ethiopian, IMNSHO, but pretty good nonetheless. It was a spur of the moment thighy, so I couldn't give fair warning. Stay tuned. As I dig up these places, I'll let you know. When we've some bucks to drop - 6 months????? - I want to take Pops to Moscow on The Hill. He's pretty skeptical...

But then he was about Ethiopian and Kurdish. He likes Kurdish better. Could be the utensils....

Next we're going to German or Mexican - Glockenspiel or La Cucaracha. Or El Amanacer.

Mom, Inks, Ter, Enkneebuddy... If you want to join us as we traverse the world via epicurian delites, let me know! I'll let you know when we go! :D (Tho we aren't so very organized and it can [read - "You can take it to the bank it will be."] spur o'the moment.)

Glad you could get up north, Ter. You far enuff that you're able to enjoy visi-wise the snow? You got enuff room for the entire Crew? We may have to drive up and bunk at your place so we can get some snow footage for the film.
<grin>

The Female Child will be with us this weekend. I believe She and Pops are going to be taking in the third LOTRs movie. I've not seen the first two, don't like Tolkien, and don't like LOTR so I think I'll stay put. It goes against our "doing things as a fam" but I can't see making me suffer through something I really don't like and won't understand [since I missed the first two] and wasting money. I'll stay here and cook up some stuff for Brad and Patty, clean a FILTHY house, and continue to perfect Olive Garden Chicken Scampi for Chickadee. She just loves it and I found a recipe on line. Though the first time I made it I only had red wine... So while it tasted great it looked HORRIBLE. Bless her heart, she still wolfed it down! :D

We're off for Dr. King's Day. Never before have I had off that day. You're off, aren't you Ter? I seem to remember you always getting that day off. (Or am I my usual confused self?) So late Sun Pops and I are getting the hell outta Dodge. Tomorrow will be a year since last year's Pre-Dig Gig... A day that will always be special to me, second only to Newell's Pity Party... I've some surprises planned... :D

So... I walk into this establishment yesterdee, on my way to meet Pops downtown. And I look around. I walk up to the guy behind the counter and say, "Ah... I'm looking for someone..."

He just looks at me.

"Uh-uuummm... A woman. That works here?"

He just looks at me.

"Ah... Liquor Lady?" And by this time I'm realiizng this is a BIG MISTAKE.

He just looks at me. "You mean 'Kelly'?

"Ah... YEAH! Yeah! That's her!" (thinking the whole time, "Dear gods, PLEASE let her name be 'Kelly'!!!!").

"She's gone. Works mornings."

"Ah, yeah. Thanks." And the rush o'wind as I flew out the door would have ripped your clothes off...

Life is very different being a 'Head. But it beats boring.

JOE, JOE, JOEDY-JOE-JOE!!!

Yes Green, we have snow - probably only about 6 inches on the ground, but it's white, clean and beautiful. If folks have sleeping bags, we have room. During the summer, we also have room for campers and tents....but there won't be snow then.

And yes, I'm off for MLK Day. We get that holiday every year.

Got another email from Brian today. He FINALLY received the package we sent for Christmas. Better late than never. Flipping customs in that country just can't let anything go through.

(having the grace to blush)

Workin' AM's should work out well, LL. Iffin' you can get a BS and all for the rest o'the time. Some o'the time you may as well drag the Kid/Kiddies with. No time like the present to start training them right.
