wow, you have a huge tolerance...I can totally be obnoxious and disruptive...mostly at work though :)

In general I do have a huge tolerance. Just check out the political threads sometime.

His dad from South St. Paul? Is his dad a twin?

OT

Why the heck does my name keep switching back and forth from OT to Oldtimer back to OT?

Vulturis Rex is in the house!

Big G

that's right...turn him upside down and shake him by the ankles...then he'll tell you where jake is!!! (and maybe you'll make some coinage)

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 8:51 PM Permalink
Big G

so is LL! hey LL! :)

OT - Oldtimer - My guess is how your cookies are set in the preferences is what is making that happen.

I don't know, OT. E-mail lance@peoplesforum.com. Maybe he can help you out. I'm sure it's a browser setting problem.

Frosti

Uh Oh Frosti, looks like you've got some competition.

Dammit!

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 8:54 PM Permalink
Big G

my dial up is so stinkin slow...anybody want to lend me some money for DSL? say...50 bucks a month? :)

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 8:54 PM Permalink
OT

Well then, I guess I'll just have to live with it. ;)

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 8:54 PM Permalink
Big G

your cookies may be set to chocolate chip, when in fact, they'd be better off set to oatmeal raisin

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 8:54 PM Permalink
Frosti

I would, but then I wouldn't be able to afford my cable internet connection. ;)

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 8:55 PM Permalink
Terry

Go to your preferences here and uncheck the part that says use cookes after a successful login.

Then login the way you want to be logged in. My guess is that it won't change again.

You'll just have to login the next time you surf to the People's Forum.

OT

Yeah Big G. That is actually is something that I can understand!

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 8:55 PM Permalink
Frosti

FYI, I just saw the promo for Fox9. This Thursday at 9 they will be televising a walk through of the ice palace.

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 8:58 PM Permalink
Big G

I wish I was in the room when they decided cookies would be a good word to use as an internet term....."no...nobody likes raisins...and carrots would just be foolish...how about cookies?!?"

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 8:58 PM Permalink
Big G

will they be undercover?? Fox always seems to make a major drama out of everything. They'll walk through the palace in their black leather jackets and say things like..."if one of these blocks fell on someone, they'd be dead instantly!!"

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 9:00 PM Permalink
THX 1138

..."if one of these blocks fell on someone, they'd be dead instantly!!"

Come on Frosti, you're losing ground fast.

Quick, say something witty.

:-)

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 9:02 PM Permalink
Big G

I'm not acting like a victim...until one of those ice blocks falls on me...then I'll be victim of an ice-ault...get it??

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 9:03 PM Permalink
Big G

ya gotta be quick!

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 9:04 PM Permalink
Frosti

Quick, say something witty.

Er, um, so how 'bout them Twins??

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 9:04 PM Permalink
Big G

totally lost on the Jake the Snake thing....besides...the guy with the 2 x 4 was better...what was his name again? or what about Junkyard Dog?

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 9:06 PM Permalink
OT

I did what you said Terry, but nothing changed. I guess I don't know what I'm doing. Not surprising. ;) The thing that irritates me is that when it changes to the other name, I have all these messages to read that haven't been read yet by the other name. Does that make any sense?

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 9:08 PM Permalink
Big G

OT, I'd do what THX suggested and email that lance guy...

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 9:10 PM Permalink
Terry

It makes sense.

Now you're logged in as OT. Go to the preferences and uncheck that cookies thing. Log out.

Then log in as Oldtimer and see if the cookie preference is set on that login.

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 9:10 PM Permalink
Big G

then do the hokey pokey and turn yourself around....that's what it's all about!

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 9:12 PM Permalink
Big G

sorry...i'm not making fun of your tech help terry...it's just such a pain in the butt sometimes to get things to work right!!

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 9:13 PM Permalink
Terry

That's okay. I do tech stuff at work. Doing the hokey pokey sometimes helps. :-)

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 9:15 PM Permalink
Big G

so...yeah....who would be better in St. Paul, the Twins or the Vikes?

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 9:16 PM Permalink
Terry

BergBoyz - if you want that picture to be bigger, you'll have to use a photo editing program to increase the size of it.

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 9:17 PM Permalink
OT

I'll try that later when there aren't as many people in here to chat with. Thanks for your help. Today I was sorting through a bunch of old pictures and I found a couple of shots of a couple of my sisters sitting in front of one of the old ice palaces. Had to be in the '30's. Also a Winter Carnival Hook Em Cow Booklet with a bunch of pictures from 1937.

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 9:17 PM Permalink
Big G

what size and resolution is your pic now berg?

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 9:18 PM Permalink
Big G

that would be really cool to see OT

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 9:19 PM Permalink
Big G

there were some great old pics in the PP insert about the Winter Carnival today

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 9:20 PM Permalink
Terry

Those would be interesting to see, OT!

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 9:20 PM Permalink
Big G

If you're saving it as a JPG, you can reduce the quality of the pic without changing the size

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 9:22 PM Permalink
Big G

If you're using Photoshop, you should be able to save the pic as 4 x 3 or so at 72 DPI and then reduce the quality when it prompts you

Sun, 01/18/2004 - 9:24 PM Permalink
Big G

If you're not using Photoshop...well, I only know Photoshop
