Yeah, pretty cooler Tess! I think I saw you out there today while I was capturing a few of the web cam shots. How'd ya get in for that breakfast deelio?
Thanks for the feedback! Since I do corporate volunteering for United Way, I was invited to a thank-you breakfast for their 2003 campaign. Allowing us thru the Ice Palace before the public opening was their way of thanking us.
It was probably one of the worst days to have it, it was freezing cold, it was snowing and it was gray. It was a great opportunity to get photos, however we were almost numb with cold, and my companion was freezing. Unfortunately we couldn't spend a lot of time walking around, or on setting up good photos. I took a few more but I don't like the outcome.
We had to take what we could get while we could feel our fingers.
Hey, they're better'un a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. And, truth be known, that's the way today looked. Maybe they're not "Glamour" shots, but they're a wonderful bit of historical fact - that folks 50 years from now will be VERY glad to have around!
speaking of which, care to have a couple of those in the slideshow Tess?
Check it out with CM, he's gathering images together for that. Kinda workin in conjunction with the webcam video I'm workin on.
BTW, some really cool webcam shots last night with the ice palace lights on.
This shot is the brightest I saw last night.
Okay, yesterday's ice palace webcam video was just too cool to not show everyone.

Grab these quick, cause I'll be taking them down in a couple days (don't want to kill all my bandwidth for the month)
Dude, that's awesome!
OMG
Great Jorb KC! Thanks for posting.
Anyone see my photo on KARE 11 News tonight? It sucked and Ken Barlow was disappointed in how they showed it too. He said there were too many words at the bottom of the screen to even see the palace and that they looked much better than what was on screen.
I'll post a link once I get it up and running.
Here ya go OT
Sorry it's a bit pixelated. I could do better with a bigger pix.
Here ya go Diggin
thanks all, just a taste of what the video will have in it ;)
I also have in the works a small add on I'll be working on myself. But, I'll save that for the final product, don't wanna spoil it.
Hey CM, how'd the helicopter flight go?
Yeah... did you spit out of the chopper!?!?!??
Here's a couple of shots from the helicopter. It was a blast!! The kid loved it too. A couple of things to think of KC as you go up tomorrow.
Our helicopter was about 10 minutes late because MTV was using the it to film some show called 'Switched' or something like that. It was kinda exciting seeing all the cameras and crew fill the lobby then quickly leave.
Thanks CM! I'm glad you didn't put scary guys face on Aunt Margaret!
CM, do they get any closer to the palace during the ride?
wonderful CM -

Thismorning at the coming out on Harriet Island
There is some great talent in this thread! Thanks for sharing everybody!
Cooler me2!!
What were the horses there for?
Some kind o show I guess. Some one told me they usually go in the snow like a sleigh ride but there wasn't enough snow. Some were sleighs but had wheels on 'em
They also said it was cancelled last year because of no snow
Mennonite convention?
I can see what you mean OT.
Okay I was at my church tonight and they decided to have a small ice palace building contest, my team won with this design. We called it the Ice Palace Demolition.
I have some closeups if anyone's interested. It was a quick contest, and we just used toys from the nursery for stand in props and all, I especially liked the green things I found that you see in the ice rubble, they reminded me of scaffolding that holds the palace turets up.
Funny stuff Reg
great idead KC!
hey, I don't recall seeing you the other night- I saw a disc floating around (I didn't drink that much) was that a 'rough' copy? are you still working on it from erection to downfall? The castle silly, the castle!
Uhuhuhuhuh, me2 said "erection".
I don't recall seeing you the other night
Yeah, I didn't make it to the predig gig. I had some guests in from out of town and I was sorta playing tour guide, I was out at the ice palace Saturday evening though.
Yes I'm still working on the video, lost most of sunday though, the computer here at work crashed over the weekend, so I had to reboot. Oh well... Plenty more video to capture anyways.
that was probably the one I dropped off for Clue Master. Ice Palace photos from me.
oh I just recall seeing GREEN disc
maybe the treasure was at the PRE DIG and we didnt even know it!
Many photos here. I don't have the energy to link 'em. Plus, I got a treasure to hunt.
Check the Ice Palace 2004-01-26 folder for pics from this evening!
