Who goes to a picnic in February?
The Re-Hash Bash is always open to all Diggers, Hunters, Clue-Writers and Lurkers. Discuss the Medallion Hunt, and have a good time with those of like obsession. It's a great time! The Re-Hash Bash is a family affair. Spouses and kids (even toddlers) are more than welcome! Come early, stay late and eat, then eat some more. It's a potluck deal. It really is a fun time. It helps bring closure to the hunt for the year.
- Bring a dish to share: dessert, salad, hot dish, whatever you like.
- Bring your own drinks, plates, cups and utensils.
- There is usually a fire to "keep yourself warm". logs are needed !
- Check the weather forecast on the link below, but come prepared for "changing" weather.
- You may wish to bring a lawn chair.

Caroline my 1yr old is sick...i'm sure the wife will stay home with her......

OTS-SHE loves going on the "TREASURE HUNTS" heck we do it in the back yard with here...(always same spot).
I will have my GPS with me...and be more then happy take people out with me...heck I might need the help looking if i got my dghtr with....
We have a trunk full of wood. Inks snowplowed a path back to the wood pile and then lugged wood until the trunk couldn't hold anymore.
Unless we want to make a really big fire, a trunkload should be enough for a few hours.
Has anyone ever been to the ice races on Phalen? Any idea how crowded it gets there?

Not sure Allison, they haven't had one in a few years. Being that I've lived close to Phalen most of my life, I can tell you it gets very noisy.
BTW, cool cache locations IAM, I especially like the one at the south end of Phalen, I should be able to find that one real quick on Sunday ;)

Finally figured out what we're bringing.....most everything I've read about people bringing has been a main dish type thing, so I'm going to do Earthquake cake. It winds up looking like terrain that has survived an earthquake....might have to adapt it a little to make it "mosh pit cake".

We've been cooking on one of those for 30 years at the lake. Ted made one when we first bought the property. He should have patented it!

word of advice... stay away from the porta pottys if they have em.... we were out there one year watchin the races, and a car flipped over and took out an entire row of 5 or 6 porta pottys....

If I can manage to get there tomorrow, I'm bringing something that people can eat after the feast. I wouldn't be there until 2:00 or so at the earliest. So.......I will be bringing donuts! Don't hate me. But they will be special donuts. I found my mom's old recipe for the best darn donuts in the world. If it works out, I'll bring them. Cross your fingers.

I'm making 1.5 doz Deviled Crows Eggs. That comes out to 36 - right? 24 just didn't seem enuff - they go so quick. I want to make sure everbuddy has a chance at them.
Also making some spinach dip in the old crock pot. Got a new cookbook and there's a recipe in there for that. No biggie. Basically you MOSH the stuff together and just put in the crock pot and heat it in there.
Got three packages o'five Hillshire Cheddar Wurst... I usually get Johnsonville, but these looked better. More gooder and less processed. So... There should bee almost two packages left for kiddies and/or enkneebuddy else that wants them. Bought some shredded jeez for them - you can't ever have too much cheese! :D And gonna chop up some onions.
Got some light rye bread - the party kind, small squares? - for the spinach dip. That should be otay...
