Park: Phalen
The cooler crew is an online community that is made up of folks with a commonality that involves digging in parks in the dead of the winter and because we have this obsession in common, we find other parts of us that have commonality too. - TerryV
Who goes to a picnic in February?
The Re-Hash Bash is always open to all Diggers, Hunters, Clue-Writers and Lurkers. Discuss the Medallion Hunt, and have a good time with those of like obsession. It's a great time! The Re-Hash Bash is a family affair. Spouses and kids (even toddlers) are more than welcome! Come early, stay late and eat, then eat some more. It's a potluck deal. It really is a fun time. It helps bring closure to the hunt for the year.
- Bring a dish to share: dessert, salad, hot dish, whatever you like.
- Bring your own drinks, plates, cups and utensils.
- There is usually a fire to "keep yourself warm". logs are needed !
- Check the weather forecast on the link below, but come prepared for "changing" weather.
- You may wish to bring a lawn chair.
Yeah baby!!!!
Nice to see you too.
Special thanks to me2 for her touching speech.
::wipes tear from eye::
:-)
Thanks to all who brought food, crockpots, name tags, glue sticks, wood and all that...
But the most important thing anyone brought today was themselves. The true blessing of this whole community is the people that are a part.
We're glad to have found the cooler crew :)
And the Cooler Crew is glad you did too, OTS.
Scribe's on the "good computer" right now. So I can't download my pics yet.
Can't wait to see what I got or if they're any good.
I'm posting mine as we speak. If you have pics you want me to post on the coolertimes site send them to me.

We went and warmed up at the rec center for a bit before finishing the journey home. It was soooo nice in there.
Lot of good people in the Coolercrew. And it's growing every year.
sure didn't expect it!
Yes, thank you for the name tag! That was cooler.
I didn't expect that either. Thanks! I'm glad I was able to show up. I got a nice name tag and a New Testament!
You're welcome!
I actually created a thread for those I missed.
I got as many done as I could before we left for the RHB.
Scribe had to pull me from the computer.

email me to have yours added.
sorry guy's, it was too cold to stand at the amphitheater, the fire was nice and toasty :)
I felt bad that it was sooo cold and we didn't get a chance to talk with everyone.
Maybe the rec center would have been a better choice. We would probably all still be there.
I thought it was going to be warmer than it was. Otherwise, I would have gone with the rec center.
if you'd like to use mine just steal 'em off o' theese pages.
My wife on the other hand....
I think if we have a choice for a rec center, from now on we should go with it.

I agree!
couldn't we all just cram in THX's shed?
couldn't we all just cram in THX's shed?
You guys stay the hell out of my shed!
THX - We wouldn't want to tromp on any pretty stinky flowers getting there anyways!
How much $$$ did you collect today for PF?
Ok... i'm shrinking pics and moving things around on the site....
www.coolertimes.com
Just be tolerant with me while I get all this sorted out.
OTS
How much $$$ did you collect today for PF?
About $25.
A lot of people didn't know we were going to collect $$$. It was sort of a last minute thing me2 and I decided to do.
Not bad for a last minute thing...but about $10 of that was from me.
I'll have to donate some again down the road. This is a wonderful site...and our little corner is so well taken care of here.
I already sent $20.00 just before the hunt
anybody else????
People probably don't realize that this place doesn't make money.
They accept no advertising.
It's all run on donations.
And as you are all aware, the medallion hunt really slogs this place down.
During the hunt, we probably have thousands lurking around these parts.
If you use this place during the hunt, I think you owe it to Peoplesforum to send a few bucks their way.
There's a lot of us, including lurkers. If we each sent $5 - $10 - $20, we could contribute a lot.

anybody else????
I haven't yet, but I will.
I was planning on matching donations up to $100 or so, but I feel an obligation since I run this place. I don't expect everyon else to contribute that much.
Just every little bit will help.
I would hate to lose this place. It's the best place on the net that can handle our traffic. We tried web-crossing, but there's no way they could handle us.
Consider it done.
Thank you to all that have, and will contribute.
We all appreciate it.
Well, I gotta run the daughter to her play, then I gotta get some work done.
Catch you all later.
Much Cooler Love ya'll!
Ok mrmnmikey I slapped your pics up there too.
The following is what I shamelessly copied from the 2004 Hunt Thread...
As usual, had a WONDERFUL time at The Re-Hash Bash! Emmy, thanks for coming up and talking to me! Did you have fun on your GREEN sled?
Thanks, KT for the prizes! And Me2 for her speech - that was wonderful! EAGS!!! Glad you made it! Once a 'Head, always a 'Head! :D
LL, WHY didn't you SAY you were leaving??? I owe you five bucks! Ter, Allison got his money.
G'Oldie... Does *this* Bible work??? LOL!!!
I've got my Honey on one side o'the putter, and my soap box - ready for me climbing on! - on the udder!!! I'm all set! :D
Again, had a WONDERFUL time. I so love getting together with you all. The best part o'The Hunt!
Kitch! Thanks for taking me and The Timmers out to do the GTO-thighy! And thanks, LITTERLY, for the hand up the hill!!! Bet you don't realize that was the SECOND time today I fell! Glad not on camera the second time... :D
Terry...thanks so much for the comic book
KOP - you are welcome.
I still have one for Homeless Artist and Those Medalling Kids.
I threw a tenner in one of the buckets, and I'll send Lance some more with my "annual message to Lance"
Hey everyone!! I had a lot of fun this afternoon despite the cold!
nice seeing everyone!
nice meeting you Ian!!
nice seeing you again Ares and Treasure Chest
lol WTG REG for pickin muh name for the door prizes!! :)
Someone left behind some brownies. I suspect it might have been Mom and Dad since they seemed to be the earthquake brownies they were talking about on Thursday night. But whoever it was, you also left behind the serving things that were in them. If you want them back, I have them. If I don't heard from anyone in a couple of weeks, I'll just attach one to my mock hunt coin. hehe
Food attached to a hidden medallion? Good idea!
Hey all!
ALLISON! YES! It got to be WAY to cold really suddenly for me. And Dad's one foot was really cold and he was impatient to get someplace warm. So we had gone over to the rec center as well. It wasn't till quite a while later I realized I'd left the cakes over there. I had puposely put them in throw away pans, but forgot all about the servers!
Would you be able to keep them til your pre-hunt thing?
We had just a great time today....it was fun to learn a couple new names to go with faces. I hope to be *out* a little bit more for the coming mock hunts and hopefully will get to know some of y'all a bit better.
Hi y'all! Sorry I wasn't able to make it to the RHB today. I really wanted to, but I had too many things to take care of. For those who don't know, we're flying to London on Thursday. So I had tons of stuff to do to get ready for our trip, plus I had homework to finish that I hadn't done during the hunt!
I'll make it to one of these things one of these years!
Just got back from the RHB!
Great 'seeing' all of you
NOT!
You whimps! KC & I were out there at 3:30 and everyone was already gone. What gives? I thought this was the 'Cooler' crew. A little too 'cooler' today huh? JK
I'm way bummed I missed you guys. Especially me2's speech. I gotta know what she said and if they caught it on camera for the movie. We took Santa Dave on his first geo-cache in the 'mosh pit'. We all felt great just to find something other than the twig marker of where the med was found. We were out there for awhile but the snow kicked up on our other cacheventures so we left. It was still fun but I missed you guys.
CM, did you see my mighty bean in there?
CM, did you see my mighty bean in there?
Yesiree Bob! we were wondering what that was. We did see you made it by the log sheet. It was way different being down there during the day and without 2,000 people bumping elbows. What time did everyone leave anyway? I'll post the little something I found in the park in the 'Items Found' thread.
This Joe is dedicated to Ian's kid
They started rolling at about 2:30. The wind kicked up pretty hard for a bit.
Ian and Kitch held my hand a little.. that was my first cache. They didn't tell me where it was though lol. Just pointed to the Valley-o-death and said that way.
