Just stopping in before bed to say hi and good night to everyone. John and I went to a movie tonight - the one about the climbers in South America. Touching the Void, I think. I read the book a few years ago and even though I knew the story, the movie was great (but I love mountain and climbing stuff). It is basically a documentary, but not exactly. After we went to Cafe Latte for pizza, wine, and dessert. Nice V-day. The biggest surprise? John bought me a cool picture of the ice palace that I am going to hang in my office.
The best pizza I've ever had was at Gino's in Chicago last October. To die for! Expensive though.
Been there, loved it! It's that black and white motif place on the edge of downtown right? We stumbled upon it back in 88 when we went out on our 1st 'real' trip.
Savoy's! We bought hundreds' of pizza's from them for my old crew at SPC each month for our team meetings. One time one of the workers bit into a melted tack and cut her mouth. I went there to talk with Redd and he said that we could get any one topping pizza free of charge when we bought one next time around. This is from a guy who would pull his staff each month to help us bring out all the pizza's to our truck to haul the things. We never did buy anything from them again as we noticed that they never changed the corkboard above their ovens after our tack incident. They tack their orders to a tag board right above their oven where the pizza's go in to cook. Not to bright. Although, I do have to say that we tried all the joints in the downtown area and next to Cossetta's, they are still the best pizza. I just feel the need to boycott the place because of the lack of respect towards a large customer like we were.
As far as V-day is concerned, I finally hit it on the head with the Mrs. My effort to make this a special V-day was more effective than the actual act. Points for me!!

Ok all... OTS is going home.... not to sleep though... it's a day to clean and get my kids computer working... gotta move some rooms around etc... fun fun....
we went to dinner last night, had a juicy porterhouse (sorry green:)) he got me flowers, a nightie :) and a new cell phone, I got him a wild jersy for the game we are going to on the 29th in the budweiser suite :) was a good night but cut short cuz he had to pick up his mom and dad at the airport at 9:00.
Master, you find that treasure in Coon Rapids, yet? :)
I'm off to Electric Fetus today. I've been e-mailing a guy there about calypso/reagge/soca and have a whole list of folks to sample. He's recommended, besides Marley, The Mighty Sparrow, Lord Kitchener, Crocro, Arrow and Byron Lee. They've one David Rudder ALBUM (yup!) that's $5.00 and I'm gonna get that for sure.
EF's having a 15% off sale this weekend so I should be able to pick up some good stuff.
Oh! Ter! They're open until 6:00 PM today. And having a sale... Maybe you could stock up on some of your lost items?
I've not been to EF in 20 years. Really! Went only once - when I got the David Rudder soca cassette. So today should be fun!
Yup! they play the carolina hurricanes, gordy played hocky with bret hedican all through school so I requested some tickets from my bud guy and he came through for me! and suite tickets to boot! free food, free beer, gotta love it! I also have a request to ride the zamboni, so if anyone else is at that game, watch for me :)
Oh, man! If you get to ride the Zamboni, I'll just DIE!!! I'll turn green and die of envy! I hope you get to. That would be ssssssoooo much fun! You best bee practicing your 'princess wave'!!!!
I *think* we're going the 22nd. For my burfday. I requsted those tickets months ago, but Pops and/or Timmers have not said anything, so I don't know if we've got them... I hope so.
I gave up my Blues tickets on the 2nd for The Hunt (hindsight's 20-20... With the sucky clues I could have made the game...). The Blues (I grew up with them... Plagers, Picard, Scotty Bowman...) are in town one more time, but ittiz the last game o'the year. If the Wild are doing well I'll let Timmers have the tics. If the Wild are *not* doing well, I'm hoping I can take in that game.
But I won't be in a suite with FREE CHOW!!! You lucky, lucky dog!!!
sounds like I have a pretty good chance at the zamboni, he said they have a hard time finding people who aren't embarrassed to ride it, hopefully he remembered to put in my request!
I got to have dinner with two nice gentlemen last night. The local restaurant here changed hands about a year ago. They now decorate for all these holidays. Last night there were Valentine napkins, Valentine lights above the salad bar, red placemats, red mini lights strung around the place with little decorations here and there. Very cute. The owner and his wife were dressed up with touches of red and all the waitresses had red tops on.
Green - thanks for the heads up on Electric Fetus. I doubt we'll make that though today. We're doing laundry here yet and will need to do the drive back to the cities later. By that time we'll have things to do to get ready for the week ahead.
LL, well *does* sound like you've a good shot at it! If the game's televised, I'll watch... I wonder if they show that on TV?
Ter, I hear ya. Didn't think you'd be able to make it, but thought... "Never know." Check out their Website. I think you can get stuff by mail. Aren't they like the biggest music place in The Cities? I seem to remember ittiz a BARN of a place, just huge and chock full. That's why I'm going there as I'm assuming they've the biggest selection in town. I know they tend to have "weirder" stuff than like the chains.
Oh! Say! I just remembered! You closer to Da'lute? They've a store there! Maybee you could make it to that one?
LL - I am totally jealous - about the Wild game and that Gordy will buy you a "nightie". Couldn't get John into an underwear department, much less a lingerie store.
Couldn't get John into an underwear department, much less a lingerie store.
Ha! yeah, alot of guy's are embarrassed to walk into places like that, but it takes alot to embarass gordy, he could care less what people think of him. (especialy when it comes to something that might benefit him in the long run :))
I've placed an order for over $200 worth of music. Some exact replacements and others replaced by artist but not the same CDs. That's just the tip of the iceberg...but it's a start.
Inks has been busy fussing with the strike plate for one of the locks. He's finally got it lined up correctly and is looking for longer screws to make it really secure.
mouth is still sore but I can deal with it. Just driving me crazy that I keep biting inside my cheek. Plastic comes off my teeth on thursday morning. Can't wait!
Ares pointed out that if it's up a level, when people post in here, it will bring us to a higher level in the list of member folders, which will make it easier for people to find us.
Heading south here again. I wish we could find a way to get up here permanently, but I guess all good things come to those that wait...and wait...and wait.
Everyone must be out and about. Quiet in these parts.
We're back in the cities. Fair amount of traffic coming back, but considering the heavier traffic Friday night, it's not a surprise. I think lots of folks were up north snowmobiling this weekend.
Better go fro and get some stuff done around here.
Terry, I was going through some pictures just now, and happened to see this pic.
Thought I'd share it with you.
Just don't tell your hubby! :-)
Right back at ya, Z.Z.!
How are you tonight?
:)
I'm tired.
As a matter of fact, I'm outta here.
Gonna get the kids in bed, and hit the hay.
Goodnite, Sam. I'm right behind you.
THX!! Those are breathtakingly beautiful! Thanks for sharing!!!
Oh sure. I get back here and everyone toddles off.
Check 1, 2 Anyone here?
yeah kinda sorta
Blah I HATE Valentines Day.
why? Can't say I like it much either, but I have nothing for or against it....

Glad you had that steak, LL! Yum! A SUITE for the Wilds? YOU LUCKY DOG!!!
Sounds like some thoughtful, loving folks had some really nice Valentine's Days!
I'm thinking I may do the toast for breakfast today in hearts again... For The Chickadee... A belated Valentine's Day for her.

Honestly, I had nothing to do with it, other than watering.
Scribe's the green thumb in this family.
btw: I'm moving this thread up a level.
