Ian. I read the article that you posted in the Twin Cities Mass Transit thread. I have health insurance through a retired union employee program, and am curious as to what adjustments they proposed to make in the retirees health insurance during negotiations?

I'm posting the question here because I'm out of my league in there.

I just cabbaged onto a VG++ (almost mint) 2 LP set of "This Is Soca" by David Rudder & Charlies Roots; 1987!!!!!!!!! Cost me six bucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to have the cassette, but played it to death... The album/cassette/etc. is outta print. I found the set at www.lastvestige.com - you might want to check that out, Ian.

Sos. Now the records are coming and I need to have them made into some CDs sos I can play them in my 'personal music device' and enjoy them!!! But...

I've not the paraphanalia to do and need to find out how I can have it done and how much it will cost me....

I KEEP telling him to take lessons - none o'us are getting any younger... - but he 'poo-poos' me. Pops gets his undies in a knot when I confuse Peter Frampton and Pete Townsend... And say things like, "Yeah? So? I don't like Eric Clapton." He gets all nervous and twitchy and breaks a bead when I barf at Dylan - as in Bobby Zimmerman. He can't understand I don't like guitar, but prefer drums. He tends to take it personally - that I'm saying what *he* likes is doo-doo. Which I'm not! I just prefer percussion. Eags and I have this argument all the time... She and I just laugh at the udder and agree to disagree.

Just because someone likes something different than you does not mean either like is inferior to the udder - ittiz just a different take/perspective/like!

We'll put on records - yeah, REAL vinyl!!! Pops has a huge collection; he's got really eclectic tastes in music which is way Cooler - and he'll play cords and such [whatever one plays] to the records and ITTIZ REALLY NEAT! He's got an ear for picking out the music (something I don't have) and ittiz really fun to listen to him play to the records. I'm really proud o'him as I can't do that - have no ear for music... But I do have a natural rythem and LOVE percussion!

Enkneeweigh... I think ittiz just a CRIME that he doesn't take lessons and progress. I mean, for cryin' in a bucket! He's already GOT the guitar, has an ear for music... Just THINK what he could do with lessons!!!!!!!

I, on the udder hand, would have to get some drums... I had a used GREEN set once, but gave it away... (sigh)

I'd put on ear phones hooked up to the stero and just WHALE away to Elton John! Got to where I could kind'a, a wee, tiny-teeny bit, small titich play along to maybee three or so songs not too badly. Me? I NEED lessons in the WORST possible way! LOL!!!

Hey Kitch, you don't happen to work for a certain red and white company in Mpls that's going through a carpet renovation right now do you? I only ask because my work is having a big open house tomorrow to fill a ton of debt collector positions. They've had a big ad in the paper for a few weeks now. It's kinda funny that they're currently interviewing candidates in a back room of a coat closet because the HR area is under construction right now.

Yes, she is-, she stopped writing a few years ago. Some of her books take place during the Victorian era, some before, some a bit later, and some are modern. Some are written about Minesota, some not- however she researched the heck out of everything she wrote about. She is classified as a romance novelist, but her stories are very captivating. I recommend her books. All of them. I read them to Dan when the fish aren't biting. Heh.

As a matter of fact- her books are SO good, I read them over and over
Some are so worn, I've taped the bindings...
I need to read to fall asleep- and her stories are so cleanly written they pose no threat to my slumber......
