Welcome to the 5th Annual Allison Wonderland Mock Hunt!
The treasure was found just before 9am on Wednesday, March 10th, by Me2. She will get a prize around $290 plus a variety of other goodies. It was found in Marydale Park on the north side in a pit under a tree near lamp post #12.
The wrap up party will be Saturday, March 13th at 8pm at Fabulous Fern's.
did you see ian there? ;)
Is there a lake, Phalen or Como, that is a mile around?
Phalen is about 3 miles I know.
Seventeen and a half is between 15 and 50. 17.5 17:50 military time?
A year? An important date? 1750?
I think I'm stuck for the time being. Think I'll go make dinner and then get Inks out to do some scouting.
Had VFW fish fry tonight. Only had to stand in line an hour! It was good though.
good idea OT!

Speaking of dinner, I'm getting hungry and should go make something.
Are there any games that score fifteen, then something else, and then fifty points?
Not that I can think of

Tennis starts with the first points being 15, the next being 30. No 50, though.
KK West, are you the mysterious Texas donater?
ThoseMedallingKids 3/5/04 5:08pm
I donate to PF, for sure. Just bought a new vehicle, so funds are limited. :-)
Do ya'll have a thread regarding the history of these hunts? Makes me long for the snow in Ohio... NOT QUITE! :-)
KK West, go to www.coolertimes.com There's lot of links there for you to check out :)
PS- Good to have you here!

Thanks!! and
Thanks!! :-)
If we were looking on a football field we could look between the 15 and 50 yard line. But I don't know of any public football fields.
Lake Como is 1.75 miles around. Change the decimal point and it's 17.5.
I can't make any sense out of the information that would fit the clue though.
Running tracks are usually 1/4 of a mile around. At least the ones for HS competition are.
What's that illustration for, ESD?
Night ESD.
When a caterpillar spoke. A bike spoke? A bike path?
Is there a lake, Phalen or Como, that is a mile around?
Round lake is about a mile around (found that sign this year while geocaching/medallion hunting).
Hehe, that would almost be too devious, to hide it at phalen.
And Alice walked a mile, going round!
Ended up getting pizza and wings for dinner and then spent time with the daughter instead of scouting. It's so nice when they get old enough that they actually want to spend time with their parents now and again.
Seems to me that Loeb Lake at Marydale is a mile if you go around it twice. There are the railroad bridges there, some picnic tables, a playground, and the addresses going east and west starting at Dale St is about 600 or 615. The addresses going north and south I think are in the 1100s.
Are there any smoke stacks visible from Marydale?
AW was right. We're coming up with more parks rather than narrowing it down to one.
Not huge ones...just those on houses or apartment buildings.
But maybe we're supposed to find a fire ring - and there isn't one of those at Marydale - at least not the last time I was there.
I think we have some holes in noodling these clues that is creating this mixture of parks.
The key words in clue #1 is to peak through the looking glass.
To take that cue - we'd be up in that little park across Smith from Cherokee. Are there any other of those viewing things in any other park?
Alice's adventure had begun before she saw the rabbit run,
In an outdoor setting having some biscuits and tea.
Go now and don't be late for your very important date.
Dining and cooking you'll find figure most prominently.
outdoor place to eat would be picnic area or a drive-in like an A&W or Porkys. Dining isn't exactly the word I'd use for either of these fast food restaurants though.
Not being late for your very important date speaks wedding to me...church or the conservatory? Maybe the Gates Ajar?
Hearing of the slithy toves and mimsy borogoves
Made Alice ask for a dictionary from the porter.
But when he gave her a tome as big as a home
She asked if there was any way to make it shorter.
We got abridge out of this clue - but there's likely more here that we're not seeing.
And I think it has something to do with the porter.
The March Hare and Mad Hatter each grabbed a platter
And offered Alice a cup with all their usual glee.
“You make it quite well, what’s your secret, do tell?”
“We simply gather up the rain and stir in the tea!”
platters, lps, discs, disks, plates have all been discussed for the first line.
I think the rain and stirring in the tea is the snowball and leaves thing...but it could be t-rain.
Alice was curious to know, which way she should go
When she saw the Cheshire Cat and smiled to herself.
He just gave her a grin, and then disappeared again
Saying, "Look for me near a road that crosses itself."
Much discussion about this road - but most often discussed was Edgecumbe.
Alice walked a mile, going round about for a while
When a caterpillar spoke, blowing smoke rings quite nifty.
He said, “Who are you? Are you looking for a clue?
Then perhaps you should search between fifteen and fifty.”
Here we've got Alice walking in circles for about a mile and telling us to search between 15 and 50.
