2004 Allison Wonderland Mock Hunt

Submitted by THX 1138 on

Welcome to the 5th Annual Allison Wonderland Mock Hunt!

The treasure was found just before 9am on Wednesday, March 10th, by Me2. She will get a prize around $290 plus a variety of other goodies. It was found in Marydale Park on the north side in a pit under a tree near lamp post #12.

The wrap up party will be Saturday, March 13th at 8pm at Fabulous Fern's.

Or maybe it could be "because later in life I may hunt with dumb cheats like you"

trust me, I would not even hunt with Tiger Woods if he had a metal detector with him

I don't know why you're all obsessed with finding MK's treasure. I already did and smoked about half of it so far. I can't remember what I did with the other half.

I like coming into the forum and seeing controversy :)

Wanna look at ourpast track record???

hmmmm Reg? you havnt found any -Jake did.
and I did and TMK has and Marley has and AW has.

sooooo, I havnt offered you any rides? I am practically always ok with giving you a ride.

During this hunt I recall you mentioning that Jake is the only one that would hunt with you. Relationships go 2 ways. I never got a call from you requesting a ride. You can always feel free to call me-I may not always be able to give you a ride but you also have NEVER taken me up on the rides I have offered.

I got thinking- Jake called and wanted to pop over and see the kitty- but I gave it back to AW. not a big deal (but I may want to use the stamp on the bottom of the kitty sometime David)

when I told Jake I gave the kitty back-he said he wouldn't have given it back- and Jake still wanted to stop by and see the green flower foam it was hidden in. -then I remembered as well that I coulda kept the kitty and sold it to Jake!

I then got thinking - I didn't find an actual coin :(
which now bums me out a bit cause after I saw people finding them I realized how much I wanted to find one.

like during all the other recent hunts there has been a coin
...cept for that diaper incident where the end result was DUCT TAPE!
hahaha, and Davids Linwood hunt (in the treasure chest) -

Marley? Will yours be a coin?
I absolutely loved those little coin containers that were used recently.

Actually, to be honest, you have offered me rides A LOT more than Jake. Also, I don't really ever need rides. TRUST ME, my parents know the dates of the mock hunts;)

That's not the issue, it is the timing. Jake just seems to hunt when I hunt, so it seemed to fit.

ESD, you are doing the same thing that put me into this position with Jake: you are jumping to conclusions. I don't care what other people say, but Jake doesn't play high-stakes money games or anything. Poker isn't one dimensional like that. For the rest, I cannot really speak. I don't want to jump to conclusions.

Jake doesn't play high-stakes money

- Jake plays where 5th place can win $1000 and first place $10,000 -I find that "high stakes" -I don't recall what he said to enter those tournies but that plain scares me- Good Luck though to Jake! yah gotta take a chance if you wanna win- "If you don't buy a lottery ticket you definately won't win"

you may not find it THX but can your wife come out to play? ;)

I find that "high stakes"

I'm not a gambler, but I heard think high stakes poker has to be at least $25,000 a hand. Ian knows more about that than I.

Behold the power of positive thinking!

LOL

I just know I won't have the time to participate.

you may not find it THX but can your wife come out to play? ;)

She was going to try and participate in AW's hunt, but just didn't have the time. She's just too busy with school. That's not gonna get any better because once she's done with school for this semester, she's gotta study for the LSAT in June.

When I think of high-stakes gambling, I think of games where you are playing real money. When you bet $100 and lose, for example, you'd lose $100 real money. Jake doesn't lose/gain any money for winning or losing a hand. Jake wins money for how well he places. In other words, if he was the 5th to last person to lose all their chips in a 300 person game, he'd make 5th place and probably win a lot of money.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Different subject.
There are two main things that made me mad in regards to Jake.
1) Not taking responsibility. I really don't like the fact that Jake didn't pay TMK sooner, especially since Jake would be the kind of person that would go crazy if someone did that to him. I also thought the whole trent thing went out of hand.
2) Rudeness. I really disliked him calling Big G and Me2 things. I didn't like Snake's "canadian" jokes about the people around Marydale park and when I asked Jake he said "well I haven't had any good experiance with them".
I usually let these kind of things go, but he got me even more pissed at Marydale. The canadian thing and the time he said "I would use a metal detector if the cat was metal" probably showed me what was not to like about him firsthand. I have decided to not hunt with Jake during the 2004 Marley King hunt but that doesn't mean I am going to agree with people everytime they say something bad about Jake. Saying something exaggerated about Jake is the same as doing it to anyone else.
you seem a lil obsessed with him lately..... it seems that when ive been on here the past buncha days, all I see is stuff about "the team of Regman/Jake"...
FWIW: Jake isn't Satan.
Now, what exactly is wrong with Marydale? And what did he say about Big G & Me2? I can probably guess why he would say something about Big G, I'm not sure about Me2 though.
Speaking of lesbians. There were a couple of them at Ferns last night. One of them was hitting on Scribe. I'm so oblivious, I didn't really even notice.
BTW: Scribe won a game of darts last night. No lie!
GO SCRIBBLE GO SCRIBBLE_It's your birthday---uh, er, un-birthday!
Great MK!
funny how this comes up-but, during the Medallion Hunt a man comes up to me in Phalen and we get talking- throughout the day, after a couple chance meetings in the park and getting to know eachother -it turns out he asks me if I know Jake and what I thought of him. I said "of allllll the people in this treasure hunt, he has to ask me"!!!!and that I am the wrong person to talk to about Jake. I said that no matter the good and bad that a person says about another in the Cooler you really need to meet and get to know a person and draw your own conclusions- heck, I talk smack, rarely, about a couple people -but thats venting for me and I hope and don't mean to sway anyones personal oppinion about another. If I vented to someone who doesnt know that other someone too well, I would say "you gotta get to know them and decide for yourself, not go by what everyone says right off the bat"... and then they will understand usually why people say what they do.
Sounds like Reg was saying stuff about Jake cause he didn't draw his own conclusions at the beginning. Reg was listening to some of the Cooler members and going with the flow of peer pressure and jumping on the bandwagon. Not that the Cooler member were wrong, it's just that no matter what age we are we are sometimes impressionable by others.
you will be fine Reg- your still finding your nich
just let me bring you home sometime, K? ;)
Not everyone is gonna like everyone (I am that exception---hahahaha-I AM SO KIDDING!) Marley doesnt like me :( ;)
The Strib golden ticket hunt started this past Sunday. It was found on the second clue. They won't say where until Friday, but they did release the remaining three clues. I'll post all the clues, and see if you can figure out where it was found (I believe it's a St Paul park)
Clue 1
A clue. A hint.
And perhaps more.
Discover the Golden Ticket
and find yourself amongst lore.
A pair of Twins
separated by water and earth
One smaller than the other,
the place for your journey's birth.
Clue 2
See a white ball?
See a long stick?
Here, a pitch isn't required
for you to get a hit.
You're getting close
If you walk on elevated ground.
Green is what you're looking for,
But you should focus out of bounds.
Clue 3
Not yet April,
but still fools join under its canopy.
Directly above this giant mushroom
is where you'll find serendipity.
Clue 4
Switching sports for a moment
let's talk NBA.
Last season's champions
most definitely not from Canada, eh?
The speed limit is 55,
too cryptic for your taste?
Then subtract 4 from that number
and for that road make haste
Clue 5
Listen closely to the past
and children at play sound near.
If lunch is served close by
why is the plate right here?
Fall air, many months away.
Employ its tool to behold
how mere words can be spun
into most precious gold.
